I wanted to take some time to talk about the future of Deltazone, where the project currently stands, and what my plans are going forward.
Right now, my main development focus is on Gearbound: Odyssey. That project is currently my priority, and its release date is still TBA. Because of that, active development on Deltazone will remain on hold until Gearbound has been released.
That being said, I want to make it clear that Deltazone is not abandoned.
Deltazone is still a project I care about, and it is something I want to return to when the time is right. Once Gearbound: Odyssey has released, I plan to begin working on Deltazone again. However, when development resumes, the game will not simply continue exactly where it left off.
A lot of things are likely going to change.
Deltazone originally started with a much stronger focus on PvP, but over time, I have started to look at the project differently. While PvP may still have a place in the game, I do not want Deltazone to be limited to only that kind of experience. I want to take a step back, look at what worked, look at what did not work, and rebuild the project with a stronger long-term vision.
This means Deltazone may begin shifting away from being just a PvP-focused game and move toward something with more depth, more variety, and a clearer identity. The goal is to make the game feel more complete, more engaging, and more meaningful than its original direction.
When I return to development, I want to revisit many parts of the game, including its gameplay structure, progression, world design, combat, overall pacing, and the kind of experience I want players to have. Some systems may be changed, some ideas may be expanded, and some parts of the old version may be reworked or replaced entirely.
I know that can sound like a big shift, but I believe it is the right direction for the project.
Rather than forcing Deltazone to stay locked into its original form, I want to give it the room it needs to grow into something better. The project has potential, and I want to make sure that when it returns, it comes back with a stronger foundation and a much clearer purpose.
For now, Gearbound: Odyssey will continue to be my main focus. Once that project is released, I will be able to give Deltazone the time and attention it deserves.
Thank you to everyone who has followed Deltazone, supported the project, wishlisted it, or shown interest in what it could become. Your support means a lot, and I am excited to eventually return to this game with a fresh perspective.
