Using GaugeDB’s game information, accounts and alerts.

GaugeDB and these terms

GaugeDB is an independent game-information website. It displays available game statistics, observed prices, releases and related source information, with optional saved-game and alert features. It is not Valve, Steam, Twitch, a game retailer or a marketplace.

These terms describe the conditions for using GaugeDB’s public pages, account features and alerts. They apply from publication on this site. Please read them alongside our privacy notice.

Game information, prices and availability

Information can be delayed, incomplete, unavailable or incorrect. Collection times differ by data type; a page refresh does not mean every value has just been checked. Historical lows and peaks refer to the observations and coverage described on the site, not necessarily the complete lifetime history of a game.

Prices use the selected Steam store country and the source currency shown. Check region eligibility, taxes, bundles, sale deadlines and the final price on Steam before purchasing. Library-value figures are estimates based on available game prices, not your purchase history, an appraisal or the resale value of a Steam account.

Public data, rankings and comparisons are informational. GaugeDB does not reserve prices, sell games, take payment for a Steam purchase or handle that purchase’s delivery or refund. Your transaction is with the relevant seller under its terms.

Accounts and your saved information

Only sign in with a Steam account you are authorised to use and comply with Steam’s account and age requirements. If applicable law requires parental or guardian permission, obtain it before using account features. GaugeDB does not verify age through its current sign-in flow.

Protect your Steam credentials and GaugeDB session, particularly on shared devices. Do not share session tokens or use another person’s account. You control the games, collection names, preferences and optional email address you provide. Do not put sensitive information or other people’s private details into collection names or public search/filter URLs.

Saved GaugeDB collections and watchlists do not transfer ownership of a game or modify your Steam account. The service needs to store and display your saved information to provide the features you request; these terms do not transfer your ownership of original content you submit.

Alerts and email

Price and update notifications depend on observed data, your settings and processing availability. Delivery can be delayed, blocked or missed; an alert is not a guarantee that a price remains available or that every change will be detected.

Email price alerts require a verified address and a separate opt-in. You can switch them off in Settings or unsubscribe from an alert. This does not remove notifications already saved in GaugeDB or recall emails already submitted for delivery.

Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully and without compromising other users or its operation. In particular, do not:

  • Access another account, circumvent authentication or attempt to retrieve private information without permission.
  • Introduce malicious code, exploit the service or interfere with its availability.
  • Evade rate limits or make automated requests that create an unreasonable load.
  • Misrepresent GaugeDB as an official Valve, Steam or Twitch service, or misrepresent the source or freshness of its data.

Availability of a page, endpoint or CSV export is not a blanket licence to republish third-party data or to bypass the source’s access conditions.

Third-party content and intellectual property

Steam, Valve, Twitch, game names, logos, artwork, news and other third-party content remain subject to their owners’ rights. Their appearance on GaugeDB does not imply sponsorship or endorsement. GaugeDB does not grant rights it does not hold in that material.

Any reuse must comply with applicable law and the relevant owner’s permissions. Open-source software remains governed by its own licence. External websites have their own terms and privacy practices, including the Steam Subscriber Agreement.

Privacy and account closure

The privacy notice describes account data, Steam requests, email, cookies, analytics, recording and the limits of self-service export/deletion. Accepting website terms is not a substitute for any separate consent that law requires.

You can stop using GaugeDB and delete your account in Settings. Export wanted data first. Account deletion removes related data from the active application database and invalidates GaugeDB sessions; it does not delete your Steam account or automatically remove all provider records or backups.

Availability and access restrictions

Features depend on third-party sources and the site’s operation and may be unavailable during maintenance, outages or source restrictions. GaugeDB does not promise uninterrupted availability, a particular refresh interval or permanent availability of a feature.

Access may be restricted where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security threats or legal obligations. You can contact [email protected] to raise a concern or request a review of an access restriction.

Your legal rights and disputes

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights, guarantees, remedies or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. In particular, any applicable consumer and privacy protections continue to apply. The information and availability limitations above are not a blanket waiver of legal responsibility.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms by posting a revised version on this page with an updated date. Changes apply from publication and do not retrospectively remove accrued rights. Using GaugeDB does not authorise a payment or subscription.

Contact [email protected] for service questions, privacy requests, content/rights complaints and access reviews.
