GaugeDB for ChatGPT

Ask about Steam games, compare the numbers and explore saved deals in a conversation.

How to add GaugeDB

What you can ask

  • Find games by name and see saved player counts and reviews.
  • Compare two to four games, with prices for your chosen store country.
  • Find saved discounts in their original currency.
  • Follow GaugeDB source links to explore the full game pages.

Try a question

  1. I'm in New Zealand. How much is Portal 2, and do people still play it?
  2. Compare Portal 2 and It Takes Two for me and a friend, using NZ prices.
  3. Show me three saved US deals and tell me which prices may be out of date.

Add it for personal testing

GaugeDB is not listed in the public directory yet. If your ChatGPT account offers custom MCP servers, you can connect it directly.

  1. Open ChatGPT Plugins, then choose Add → Create custom MCP server.
  2. Enter GaugeDB as the name and paste this server URL:https://gaugedb.com/integrations/public-games/mcp
  3. Select No authentication. Review the server trust notice before connecting.
  4. Choose Try in chat, or select GaugeDB in a new conversation. Include your store country when asking about prices.

Controls and availability may vary by account. No GaugeDB account or Steam sign-in is needed.

Understand the results

GaugeDB returns saved observations, not live checkout prices. Check the source date and freshness status, and confirm the current price on Steam before buying.

Deals inspect the 512 most recently checked saved price observations for the requested country. Coverage is partial; missing data does not mean zero. Player counts are global totals, not proof of matchmaking or co-op availability.

The plugin cannot buy games, change accounts, refresh Steam, read private profiles or link your Steam account. ChatGPT writes the answer and can make mistakes.

Privacy and support

ChatGPT sends the tool arguments needed for your request, such as a game name, game IDs and store country, to GaugeDB. This integration does not request your full conversation or private Steam information.
