Frequently asked questions
What is GaugeDB?
A free, independent Steam database for player charts, prices, sales and game updates. GaugeDB is not affiliated with Valve or Steam.
Where does GaugeDB’s game data come from?
Game information, prices and player counts come from Steam. Streaming data comes from Twitch, Kick and YouTube.
How often are player counts and prices updated?
Player counts, prices and game details refresh on separate schedules. Check the update time on the relevant game tab to see how recent a figure is. Some updates may be delayed.
Why is some history missing?
History builds as we collect data, so coverage varies by game and region. A recorded low or peak reflects our available history, which may not cover the game’s entire lifetime.
Why is a price different on Steam?
Prices depend on your store country and may change between checks. Choose your country using the store and time settings in the footer, and confirm the current offer on Steam before buying.
Do I need an account?
You can browse and use the Steam account calculator without one. Sign in with Steam to save games, manage your watchlist and set up alerts. Steam handles sign-in; GaugeDB never receives your Steam password.
Can I buy or download games here?
GaugeDB helps you explore and compare games. Purchases and downloads are handled by Steam; we do not sell game keys or host game downloads.
