MotionMuse Version 1.1.9 introduces unbaking of animation to key-poses and unbaking of individual curves. Unbaking is the process of reducing the number of key-frames in an animation without degrading its quality so that it can be easily edited. This is useful for motion captured
MotionMuse Version 1.1.8 adds transform animations with parent-child hierarchies; this allows for general animations to be created/edited in MotionMuse. Objects not bound to joints can now be animated using this system. Transform animations can be imported and edited similar to j
MotionMuse Version 1.1.7 is an overhaul of the underlying systems with main focus on fixing undo/redo issues. To this end the entire undo/redo system is redesigned and is now faster and uses lesser memory than before. This also fixes random crashes and provides the much needed qu
Version 1.1.6 adds scaling to MotionMuse. Meshes and Joints can now be scaled and keyed accordingly. Joints can only be scaled uniformly while other objects can be scaled non-uniformly. This helps in character rigging to properly align joints within meshes in case of discrepancie
Version 1.1.5 introduces automatic rigging of meshes to user created/pre-loaded skeletons. This is an experimental feature and works best for simple meshes. Multiple meshes can also be auto-rigged on the selected skeleton using the same feature. Complex meshes with multiple disco
Version 1.1.4 adds the ability to modify the bind matrix for each mesh for each joint. Selecting a mesh and a joint effecting its vertices (skin/cluster) the user can now modify the bind matrix using sliders. Sliders and min/max ranges for rotation and translation have been added
Version 1.1.3 introduces Joint creation and skeleton editing. This is currently under development and may be buggy. The user can add joints and bones using the new joint creation mode added to the ToolBox. Joints can be removed using the 'del' key / trash button. This mode can be
Version 1.1.2 is an overhaul of the underlying systems in terms of better user experience. The application is now more responsive and has been optimized at various places to remain interactive under heavy workloads. A new key-editor has been implemented that can handle long anima
Version 1.1.1 introduces weight painting to MotionMuse. A new button in the toolbar can be used to active weight paint mode after selecting at least one mesh (which will turn dark blue). The user can then alter the weights for a selected joint for these meshes. Joint selection ca
Version 1.1.0 is a quality of life update. It adds selecting meshes and toggling individual mesh visibility along with many bug fixes. A toolbar button is also added to quickly toggle visibility of a selected object(s). Mesh icons are added to the TreeView for quick selection. We
Version 1.0.9 adds the ability to hide/show joints in the treeview. This has far reaching consequences as hidden joints do not participate in sketching and/or retargeting. This essentially simplifies the retargeting process, as now the user can precisely match the skeletons by hi
Version 1.0.8 introduces our GLTF/GLB 2.0 Json based exporter. The exporter is capable of exporting GLTF files (GLTF + Texture + bin) into folders or can combine the data into a single GLB file. Extensions have been added to the export dialog. The exporter had to be written from
Version 1.0.7 implements video references in the form of Media Overlays. Image Overlays are renamed to Media Overlays and now support videos. With support for multiple video formats including AVI, MP4, MKV and MOV the user can load a variety videos to quickly trace out an animati
Version 1.0.6 implements new features such as mirroring and 3D reference images. Mirroring is a useful tool to quickly pose a character where matching of one body part to another is required. Simply copying, pasting IK chains and applying mirroring on them can quickly achieve thi
Version 1.0.5 overhauls the renderer and adds import support for VRM files. This includes inverting the z-axis (i.e. importing in the left handed coordinate system). Most VRM characters are also unshaded, so the renderer now supports unshaded meshes. Order independent rendering i
Version 1.0.4 is mostly a hotfix for version 1.0.3, and fixes most import problems with GLTF/GLB files. Some problems may still persist as the GLTF standard supports various types of extensions (especially textures and materials) which may not show up/export correctly. We are sti
