Faye Falling is also 35% off for the next two weeks, so make sure to grab it if you haven't yet!
If you haven't checked it out yet, Faye is very much a spiritual successor to View From Below. It takes everything I did with this game and makes it so much better. It features 5 endings, 6 bosses (+1 secret boss), 3 gameplay paths, an original soundtrack with 30 songs, and lots more!

Game saves from previous versions aren’t compatible with the new version- but they won’t be deleted or overwritten, so you can resume old saves whenever you wish by returning to 1.72 through the Steam client. (Select the "2021 Build" from the update branch as per these simple steps.)
You can find the full patch notes below.

The first anniversary of View From Below is quickly coming up this month! I learned so much from making (and launching) this strange, dark little game, that I’m really hopeful and excited about what the future holds.
Before announcing my next game in a few weeks, I wanted to first release one final update for View From Below. (Aside from any future bug fixes if necessary, of course.) It makes *lots* of small tweaks to round off some rough edges, and improve balancing.
Here’s the full patch notes:
Gameplay
Bell’s first chase sequence has been updated with an additional attack pattern
Altered the map design for Rose's third chase sequence with more alternative routes
Balancing
Adjusted some item sell prices
Lowered the damage done in most of the chase sequences
Lowered the Challenge+ bonus damage done in all of the chase sequences
Visuals
Improved the good ending cutscene art with a nicer rain effect
The Soul Gate now scrolls nicely in the tower top area
General Tweaks
Made some small adjustments and fixes to cutscenes, such as some new sound effects
Dialogue
Some dialogue was tweaked to improve flow
Bug Fixes
Fixed a small Demon Summoner visual bug
Fixed being able to buy trinkets even when out of inventory space
Fixed Melody's armor and trinket not unequipping fully in some contexts
I want to give one final thank you to every one who played and supported View From Below- it really means so much to me. I had no idea if anyone would even play it- so the fact that hundreds have is a really cool feeling. (Not too bad for my first go at this :S)
I’m still kicking myself over some launch issues, but I’m really proud of where the game is today. All the feedback I received was so helpful, and I think helped make the game better and better with each of the 6 major updates.
I’ve grown a lot as a developer, and as a writer, these past few months, and I think my next game is really going to show that. I can’t wait to finally show it. You can keep up with me on twitter to see when it's first announced.

I'm really proud of the game now, so updates will likely slow down as I shift focus to my next project (I'll announce it soon!)
I really want to thank everyone that has played the game so far- all of your support, messages and feedback has really meant a lot to me. This was the first real game I've ever made, so to have so many people actually enjoy it has been such an amazing feeling.

Hey everyone! Thanks so much to all of you that have played View From Below so far – it really means the world to me.
The game launched just over 2 months ago now, and thanks to your feedback and suggestions, it's continued to grow and improve, and become the best game it can possibly be.
I'm excited to announce that Update 1.2 was just released, and it contains a bunch of awesome new features:
Bell's house is now accessible, should you manage to seek it out. In it, you can find out more about the mysterious character, as well as attempt to unlock his giant safe. But what's the combination? And what does it contain? You'll have to explore Below to find out…
Glacies Cliffs now contains 5 hidden "Mana Berry Trees" which were planted by a quirky Mage. Find, pick, and eat from them, to boost your Max Mana stat!
Many tweaks and QoL updates have been made to the game based on player feedback. These include some new menu and window designs, a new attack pattern for the Skelly enemy, and a dozen or so rarer bug fixes.
I know that there's so much more important things going on right now in this intense, dramatic year. But maybe releasing a game about hope and kindness into it wasn't such a bad idea…
Thanks so much to everyone who's played View From Below so far! It first released just over a month ago, and it's been really awesome to hear your thoughts on the game, as well as about the secrets you've come across and your theories on the lore. Today I uploaded a major update
Thanks so much to everyone who's played View From Below so far! It first released just over a month ago, and it's been really awesome to hear your thoughts on the game, as well as about the secrets you've come across and your theories on the lore.
Today I uploaded a major update that includes Steam achievements, online community leaderboards for the minigames, as well as an unlockable New Game+ mode called "Challenge+" ! I've also previously released smaller updates that have added graphical improvements, the ability to quickly skip evading minigames and much more!
Challenge+ makes enemies harder, items cost more and sell for less, and also includes some mode-exclusive lore. It's tricky, but not too tricky- I promise! If you manage to beat it, you also unlock a special achievement. Pretty nifty!
Thanks so much for playing VIEW FROM BELOW. I hope the game has meant as much to you, as it's meant to me. If you haven't had a chance to get the game yet, now would be a really good time to play.
