View From Below Update 1.6

Hey! I just released a new major update for View From Below. It adds some new features like GamePad rumble, the ability to set GamePad button prompts and in-game online leaderboards, as well as lots of refinement and polish across the entire game, such as new Rose chase sequences, and improved tilesets. Here are the full patch notes:

Patch Notes:

New Features

  • Full GamePad support with button label settings, and rumble
  • Added in-game online leaderboards

New Rose Attack Patterns

  • Sequence 1 was remade
  • Sequence 2; the swords now spin, and spawn closer to the player
  • Sequence 3; the beams now spawn from Xs, and swords occasionally also spawn

Tweaks

  • Improved screens and menus
  • Pacing improvements to Chapter 1 and 3
  • Important fix to balancing to avoid the late-game balance issue
  • Renamed The Runes of Truth to “The Abyss of Truth”
  • Improved some jokes
  • Visual improvements, such as new weather effects and improved tilesets
  • Made characters refer to the MC as “mortal” instead of “human”
  • Added the ability to turn Alternative Sync on or off, and a "reset" button
  • Osseus has a new attack pattern with 2 forms
  • HP and Mana bars now ease in and out smoothly, and fade to black after the character faints

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed melody’s armor not always lowering the damage she takes
  • Changed some performance settings to fix lag on the latest Windows update (this update was made quietly pre-patch)

As usual, here's the trailer once more (I'll be updating it to reflect 1.6 soon):

I'm really proud of the game now, so updates will likely slow down as I shift focus to my next project (I'll announce it soon!)

I really want to thank everyone that has played the game so far- all of your support, messages and feedback has really meant a lot to me. This was the first real game I've ever made, so to have so many people actually enjoy it has been such an amazing feeling.

Be well,
-Jack.
