Google Poly is shutting down on June 30, 2021. As a result, Maquette is deprecating its Google Poly integration. As of today, you can no longer add new Poly models to your projects. We recommend either replacing non-editable Poly models with editable versions or finding other replacements to avoid any future project issues.
In a later release by June 30, 2021, we will need to completely remove the ability to load Poly models contained in any project (the rest of the project will continue to load). If you'd still like to use the Google Poly feature between now and then, an alternative branch "2020.3.7.0.1605" mapped to the previous version of Maquette is available.

Grouping UX Improvement Default group orientation is now following rotation of the child with the largest bounding box volume as a better heuristic than before.
Teleportation UX Improvement Changed teleportation to be activated by holding the "Grip" button on empty space with the non-dominant hand. This prevents accidentally activating teleportation when trying to grab objects. Swimming can still be activated as usual.
New Procedural Object Type and Bug Fixes Introducing a new "Capsule" procedural object type. Fixed "rounded corner rim" procedural object not scaling correctly when using bounding box gimbal manipulator.
Other Improvements and Bug Fixes Made scene switch faster when there is a complex master stage. Fixed exception thrown from keyboard and other detachable UI when exiting the app. Added more images into the image library.
A new version 2020.2.5.0.1245 is available in the "beta" branch with the following changes: Fixed exception thrown in UpdateUIParent() call of some detachable UI elements, such as keyboard, keypad, and color picker. Added a new spotlight "Hermit's Island" in the start space.

** Original post ** We have noticed increased number of unhandled exceptions leading to Maquette in unusable state. This release attempts to address crashes in the following code area:
We will continue monitoring crashes and make subsequent releases to attempt fixing them. Many of these errors are hard to reproduce and fix. We appreciate your patience and encourage you to share any useful bug reproduction information in our community channel.

Introducing ability to resize tool bits to a Needle Mode to enable more accurate selection on objects. This is especially helpful when selecting small or flat objects snapped to other surfaces.
Introducing AR simulation support with better and more customizable background/hologram blending. This experimental feature can be accessed under the "Labs" panel and is under active development. Feedback is welcome!
Introducing 3D background environments with two examples included (one photogrammetry and one hand crafted model). Both environments support teleportation and surface snap, and blends well in AR simulation mode. This experimental feature can also be accessed under the "Labs" panel.
