"Hey! Your roadmap said there would be TWO songs in this update!"
Good eye! While we were initially planning to release two songs this time, our second song ran into production issues involving its visuals (it turns out adding new features can cause bugs. whoops.) We'd like to take the time to properly debug these issues before we release both the song and the editor features they're using to you all! You can expect it to be bundled with our new content for 1.6.0 next month instead.

NEW TANGENT
tailspun's "Destroy, Destroy (ft. eili)" now has a new Tangent chart.
A take on the Sides boss that goes in an entirely different direction than its original, with new twists and turns in its journey through time. This Tangent can be unlocked by clearing Destroy, Destroy on Hard; Through the Static; and Night Echo (Future Funk Mix).

New Tangent chart for Destroy, Destroy! Unlockable by passing Destroy, Destroy on any difficulty, as well as our Bounces tutorial, Night Echo (Future Funk Mix), and our Mines tutorial, Through the Static.
Editor
Cranky is now twice as expressive! Costumes can now have a second set of faces - those faces are closed, halfclosed, xx, sad, unimpressed, dots, wink, and spiral! Go nuts!
The editor now has an Event Sampler feature! Hover over an event and press Q to select that event type to place down. Like an eyedropper tool!
Decos now have a scaleinfluence option, so now deco parenting can affect scale! The rough formula is decoscale * (parentscale ^ scaleinfluence), for the math nerds out there.
Fixes
DAMOCLISM's health bar will no longer be restored on pause
Shader Uniforms will no longer set their value to their start value on level load

Sidenote exhibit, with incredibly factual narration that is a.) definitely not fabricated and b.) certainly not altered in any way from its original form.*

This is a new section that'll be here going forwards. There's a lot of artists who've contributed to Beatblock, and music is the lifeblood of any good rhythm game. We hope you check out their projects and releases showcased here, they do wonderful work!
arcerion, one of the artists for contest selection NEURON SPLITTER, composed the score for the abstract short film 0xART. An audiovisual contribution representing One Expression (1XP), a space where artists of every kind can come together to create, learn, and evolve.
dsktpgrl, the artist of selfportrait, oversaw the first release of her indie music label "dandelion sounds" with the collaborative album Fresh Start. Join them in exploring the world of a girl on the precipice of independence.
[-^v-] (aka Heartwave,) one of the artists for contest selection :)))), had her 5th album release earlier this year in the form of Angel- chock-full of experimental electronica & a struggle to reach perfection.
Onefin, one of the artists for Era Chimæra, released the Toy Ruby EP! A set of vignettes about taking something small and letting it live.
Rolobi, the artist of UNDO UNDO, helped compose the OST for action RPG FriendOS! You can find the demo's OST on Bandcamp.
SuperSMZ, the artist of BEATROCK (get it?), composed the OST for frantic top-down shooter Blade Rush! You can check out the full playlist on Youtube.
WangleLine, the artist of Cache and Island of Orchids, released Goodbye to Your Vicious Cycles for osu!catch World Cup 2025! "in the silver garden, i rest my old soul; from now on, forever fetterless"
Also, Bandcamp Friday is tomorrow! That means 100% of the revenue for any tunes you buy there go directly to the artist, so it's a great opportunity if you want to show some love to them and pick up some music to jam out to!

Next month is our major update for the spring, and our last content-focused push before we turn to tackling new features and smoothing out the game experience as a whole! You may see our pace on new songs slow down as a result, but we'll be putting out a roadmap for the summer & fall in the near future so you can stay tuned in to our plans.
