1.8.1 - macOS dependency fix
This should resolve a missing dependency that caused the game to fail to load on macOS. Other than that, there are no other changes. You should see "1.8.1 steam" on the configuration dialogue that pops up when the game first starts. Enjoy and thanks Glyph for the feedback/testing

The Real Texas 1.8 for Windows (then Linux (then macOS, sorta...))

It's hard to believe but The Real Texas was out five years ago last week. I'm still incredibly proud of it; I can't really put it words how fulfilling it is to hear from people who enjoyed it in the past or are still discovering it now.

I don't do this too often, and this is the cheapest it's been (or will be) in a long time, so if you are curious-- now's a good time to scoop it up! Or, if you've already visited Strange, tell your pardners if you think it's up their alley.

Version 1.6 Update (Mac and Windows); Linux version soon
Hooray! I've released a patch, called version 1.6, this evening. It fixes a fairly bad crash bug that would have happened to everyone after a long enough play session. Incredibly sorry about this, especially everyone who lost progress in the game.. Losing progress is a major bumm

It fixes a fairly bad crash bug that would have happened to everyone after a long enough play session.
Incredibly sorry about this, especially everyone who lost progress in the game.. Losing progress is a major bummer and something I work hard to avoid.
Other changes include:

Game now auto-saves when moving between areas
Gameplay bugfix for Cellpop
Sound engine updated (internal fix only; game should sound the same)
Linux version will be up soon; I was hoping this week but I spent more time working on key redeeming than I anticipated so haven't had time to ge this sorted out.
But the game runs happily in 32 and 64 bit flavours of Linux-- it's coming! One or two outstanding issues, but I'm still going to try and get it up this week, but it might have to wait until next week.
