Hello, this is the 213℉ development team.
Thank you for taking part in the Closed Battle Beta!
It's been a long wait since we first announced the game, and we're glad we could finally put TSURUGIHIME in your hands. The test only covered a slice of the combat fundamentals, but a lot of you showed up for it — and, more importantly, left us a lot of comments.
We read them throughout the test period, and they shaped how we decided what to update.
Thanks to all of you, we think the combat came out better for it. (At least, that's how it feels from our side — we'd love to hear it straight from the people who actually played!)
Right now there isn't much we can say beyond thank you, but we want to put this experience to work in development, to do justice to everyone who helped us out.
For those curious, here are a few numbers from the test:
Test period (JST): August 25 (Tue) 12:00 – September 6 (Sun) 23:59, 2026
Applicants: 1,012
Steam keys activated: 872
Unique players: 803
Stages cleared: 2,311
Total hours played: 446 hours 4 minutes 59 seconds
Enemies Defeated: 282,574
We'll be sharing more detailed data on the official TSURUGIHIME Discord server going forward — come join us! There's also a post-test survey running for everyone who took part, so be sure to check it out. https://discord.com/invite/hSC8dgfkaz
Next up, we're aiming to bring a playable demo to an event somewhere. When that happens we'll most likely run another closed beta — this time covering more than just combat — so we hope you'll join that one too!
And on that note, we'll wrap up this milestone 50th Developer's Note. Thanks for reading.

Hello, this is the 213℉ development team.
Thank you for waiting!
The Closed Battle Beta Test is finally open for applications! Details are available on the official TSURUGIHIME Discord server, so please check here for more information! https://discord.com/invite/hSC8dgfkaz
We are also reposting the developer preview video of the Closed Battle Beta Test build that we streamed on YouTube recently. If you haven't watched it yet, please be sure to check it out!
From here, we'd like to introduce the player actions and gameplay tips available during the Closed Battle Beta Test. This section is primarily intended for those participating in the test, so we'll be going into quite a bit of detail. It should also give you a good idea of what the battles are like, so we hope you'll find it useful!
Please note that the buttons used will vary depending on your gamepad and key configuration, so here we will focus on the actions themselves rather than the specific buttons used to perform them. Also, the information below is based on the build at the start of the test. Please be aware that adjustments may be made during the test period, which could change how some actions behave.
Let's start with the player actions!
The basic actions are: ・Walk ・Run ・Jump ・Air Jump ・Glide
By consuming the ST Gauge, you can perform a Dash. While Dashing, the player becomes invincible and the game enters slow motion.
Dash can be combined with directional input, allowing you to Dash in any direction.
By consuming the Block Gauge, you can perform a Block. The TSURUGI circles around the player, protecting you from enemy attacks in all directions.
The Block Gauge can be used while performing other actions as well.
Next, let's look at attacks. Repeatedly pressing the attack button performs a Combo Attack. It consists of four hits.
Repeatedly pressing the attack button while holding Up performs an attack at the end of the combo that launches both the player and the enemy into the air. You can follow up with an Air Attack.
Repeatedly pressing the attack button while holding Down performs an attack at the end of the combo that launches only the enemy into the air. Among the Combo Attacks, this one has the fastest attack speed.
Repeatedly pressing the attack button in midair performs an Air Combo Attack. Like ground attacks, it consists of four hits. You can perform it repeatedly while airborne until you land.
Pressing the attack button once while holding Up in midair performs an attack that repeatedly slashes the enemy while airborne. You can perform it repeatedly while airborne until you land.
Pressing the attack button once while holding Down in midair performs an attack that sends the player rapidly downward from the air to slash the enemy. It can be used to knock airborne enemies down to the ground, as well as to attack enemies on the ground from above.
Pressing the TSURUGI Attack button once launches the TSURUGI forward in the direction the player is facing as a ranged attack. The TSURUGI Attack is independent of the player's actions—the player does not perform an animation—and only the ranged attack is fired when the button is pressed. By performing it while holding the direction opposite to where the player is facing, you can also create combinations such as performing a Combo Attack forward while firing the TSURUGI Attack backward.
Performing the TSURUGI Attack while holding Up launches the TSURUGI upward from below as a ranged attack. After the attack, the TSURUGI remains in place for a certain amount of time and continuously damages enemies. It is useful when you want to keep an enemy in place.
Performing the TSURUGI Attack while holding Down launches the TSURUGI rapidly downward from above as a ranged attack. It can knock airborne enemies all the way down to the ground.
When an enemy's HP falls below a certain amount, you can perform a Finisher against that enemy. An icon will appear above the target's head, and you can perform the attack by approaching within a certain distance while the icon is displayed. As its name suggests, the Finisher is a powerful area attack that delivers the final blow.
The Finisher can also be performed in midair. Different attacks are performed on the ground and in midair. Both are equally powerful, so choose between them based on your position and the position of your enemies.
Finally, one last thing about player actions. We've introduced each action individually so far, but combinations are important in the battle system of TSURUGIHIME. This is just one example, but try connecting multiple actions together like this and “craft” your own way of fighting!
That's it for our introduction to the player actions! But there's still more to come!
Next, we'll introduce some gameplay TIPS. If you're having trouble with the game or want to improve your play, please use these as a reference!
Offense
Use TSURUGI Attacks
Mastering TSURUGI Attacks will give you a major advantage in battle, so be sure to use them actively.
They are useful in a wide variety of situations, including initiating attacks, follow-ups, finishing off enemies, and defense.
They can be performed independently of the protagonist's actions, so try to find ways to make the most of them. (For example, you can still perform TSURUGI Attacks while the protagonist is being knocked back after taking damage, even when player control is temporarily restricted.)
They consume TP, so try to hit as many enemies as possible with each attack.
Use Finishers
Finishers allow you to perform powerful special attacks without consuming resources.
Try to position yourself so that you can hit as many enemies as possible with a single attack.
For a more technical approach, you can deliberately avoid finishing enemies with Combo Attacks or TSURUGI Attacks and instead control their remaining HP, allowing you to finish them off with a Finisher at a more advantageous moment.
Defense
Use Dash
You become invincible while Dashing, so if you see an enemy attack or its warning sign, you can avoid taking damage simply by Dashing.
During a Dash, everything except the player moves in slow motion. This makes it easier to observe enemy actions, and you can use the opportunity to move into a favorable position. Dash is therefore useful not only for defense, but also for setting up your next attack.
Dashing can cancel almost any action partway through. You can use it to eliminate openings after attacks, so try to find different ways to make use of it.
However, Dashing consumes the ST Gauge, so use it wisely.
Use Block
While active, Block deflects attacks from all directions.
The response time from pressing the button to activation is slightly faster than Dash.
Unlike Dash, Block can be performed even while player control is restricted, such as when the protagonist is being knocked back after taking damage. This makes it useful for preventing follow-up attacks.
Blocking a direct enemy attack can stagger the enemy and create an opening.
Other
Don't Let the Enemies Spread Out
It is advantageous for the player if enemies remain grouped together as much as possible.
Conversely, being surrounded by enemies on both sides or having enemies outside the screen puts you at a significant disadvantage.
Attacking the enemy directly in front of you is important, but it is equally important to constantly check the overall situation and maintain a position that does not put you at a disadvantage, both offensively and defensively.
Manage Your TP
TP recovers when you hit enemies with Combo Attacks, but it does not recover from TSURUGI Attacks or Finishers.
If you rely too heavily on “TSURUGI Attack → Finisher,” your TP will run out very quickly.
It is also important to make sure you land Combo Attacks whenever you have the opportunity.
Go for a High Score
This build uses a special game rule in which you have five minutes per play session and must defeat as many enemies as possible. (This is a special specification that will not be included in the actual release version.)
At the end of your play session, the number of enemies you defeated will be displayed.
By making use of the TIPS introduced above, you can improve your score, so give it a try.
That's it for the gameplay TIPS!
Finally, we'd like to introduce the enemies you'll encounter and some key points for dealing with them!
Hollow
The most basic type of common enemy.
It attacks with direct attacks.
It is not particularly threatening on its own, but many can appear at the same time, so be careful not to miss its attack warning while it is mixed in with other enemies.
Aegis
This type of enemy guards its front with a shield.
It can perform both direct and ranged attacks.
If you attack it from the front with Combo Attacks, you will be knocked back.
The effective way to deal with it is to move around behind it and attack.
TSURUGI Attacks from above or below are also effective.
When its stance is broken by taking damage, its shield is also removed and its Guard is temporarily disabled.
The key to defeating it is to keep attacking and finish it off while it is vulnerable after breaking its stance.
Wing
A flying type of enemy.
It attacks with ranged projectiles.
You can fight it with Air Attacks, but you can also knock it down to the ground with an Air Low Attack or Low TSURUGI Attack. This is often easier because you can hit it together with other enemies on the ground.
Its projectiles can be shot down with the player's TSURUGI Attacks or Finishers.
Projectiles can also fly in from off-screen. If you think you won't have enough time to dodge, Guard is the easiest defensive option.
That was quite a lot, but that's everything!
Thank you very much for reading all the way to the end.
We hope you'll apply for the Closed Battle Beta Test!

Following Developer's Note #46, we'd like to continue introducing one of TSURUGIHIME's core gameplay systems. This time, we're focusing on the TSURUGI—the very power that gives the game its name. In TSURUGIHIME, the TSURUGI is a special power. It plays a vital role not only in battle, but throughout the game's progression as well.
Let's take a closer look.
TSURUGI abilities are activated from a dedicated interface like this. They can be invoked at various moments during gameplay, allowing you to interrupt the current situation and rewrite it.
And what exactly can they do?
Rewrite fate.
In this example, the player chooses a greater challenge by rewriting the event into a higher-level battle.
Here, the TSURUGI even rewrites a choice presented during a conversation.
Its power isn't limited to story progression or dialogue. Of course, it also plays a major role in combat.
For example, it can even rewrite reality itself—making an entire battle never happen.
As Arche grows as a TSURUGI wielder, she gradually unlocks new TSURUGI abilities throughout the game. The TSURUGI—a power that can cut through fate itself. We hope you'll discover for yourself just what the TSURUGI is capable of.
That's all for today!

This time, we would like to introduce one of the core systems of the game: Game Progression. TSURUGIHIME unfolds across 100 days within its world. Each day, players decide how to spend their time.
Here is how that flow works.
Let’s take a closer look.
Players begin by selecting a destination from the world map. The screen shown here represents an early-game state, where only a limited number of locations are available. As the story progresses, more areas gradually open up.
After choosing a destination, you move to a detailed area map. The example shown here begins with a map that has not yet been altered by events.
Depending on when you visit and how you act, the time of day shifts throughout the course of a single day.
Within this detailed map, players choose their actions for that specific time period.
Presented in a card-like format, the possible events of Arche’s day are shown in advance. You can see what may occur during the day, evening, and night.
Based on your current status and objectives, you must decide what action to take.
In this example, the player selects Conquer, exploring an area and reaching its final point. This is how each day unfolds as you move forward through a fate that seems set. But in TSURUGIHIME, where even fate itself can be crafted, that is not the end.
There exists a power capable of cutting through destiny itself: the TSURUGI. How will the power of the TSURUGI influence the game’s progression?
We will leave it there for today. In the next update, we will explore the power of the TSURUGI.
Please do not forget to add the game to your Wishlist!

Hello, this is the 213℉ development team.
It has been a little while since our last update, so today we would like to share three quick topics to catch you up on what we have been working on.
Topic 1:
A new interview is now live!
https://finalweapon.net/2026/03/13/interview-tsurugihime-director-yosuke-shiokawa-development-fgo-kingdom-hearts/ An interview with TSURUGIHIME director Yosuke Shiokawa has been published on Final Weapon. This may actually be the first interview focused on TSURUGIHIME. It also includes details that have only been shared there, so please check it out.
Topic 2:
We are planning a closed beta test!
https://finalweapon.net/2026/03/13/tsurugihime-closed-beta-test-exclusive-announcement/ As also mentioned in the Final Weapon interview, we are currently preparing for a closed beta test. This test is planned as a battle-focused build centered purely on the action, without story content or RPG systems included. We have not forgotten about the demo version, but unfortunately it will still take more time before it is ready. Even so, we want players to get their hands on TSURUGIHIME as soon as possible and share their feedback, so we decided to run a small-scale closed beta focused purely on combat.
As for the entry requirements and full details...they are connected to the next topic, so please keep reading to the end of this post.
Topic 3:
Our official Facebook account is now live!
https://www.facebook.com/Fahrenheit213 We have officially launched the 213℉ Facebook account. At the moment, it will be operated in English and Traditional Chinese only, but we would be very grateful if you could follow and share it. We would also like to take this opportunity to highlight our other official channels as well.

This is the dedicated server for TSURUGIHIME. We are still getting started, but we plan to grow it into a place where we can communicate directly with all of you.
If you have any suggestions for other social platforms we should consider, please let us know.
And finally, one important announcement. Applications for the closed beta test will be handled through the TSURUGIHIME official Discord server. Joining the Discord server will therefore be required to apply.
For this test, we want to gather detailed and meaningful feedback, so we expect to keep participation limited to a very small number of players. Slots may fill up quickly, so please keep an eye on the Discord server for the latest updates.
That is all for today’s three topics. Please follow our official accounts, add the game to your Wishlist, and stay tuned for the next update.

Hello, this is the 213℉ development team.
In our previous two updates, we introduced Arche’s third style. This time, we would like to showcase part of its battle action.
Switching fighting styles does not only change her appearance—it completely transforms her battle actions as well. The defining feature of the third style is, above all, the number of hits.
While other styles focus on three- or four-hit combos, the third style centers around five-hit chains.
The weapons that follow Arche also change with each style. In the third style, the attacks are designed to cover a wide area across both sides of the screen.
One of the core features of this game’s combat is crafting combos. By combining attacks at the timing and with the techniques of your choice, you can create and extend your own combo sequences.
Each fighting style offers a distinctly different way to play. That is the essence of the Style Change system. We hope this has given you a glimpse of what makes the third style unique.
Please follow the store page and stay tuned for our next update. And don’t forget to add the game to your Wishlist.

Hello, this is the 213℉ development team.
Now that 2026 has begun, development has shifted into higher gear as we move steadily toward release.
We’ve also launched the official TSURUGIHIME Discord server, where we’d love to chat with you about anything—from casual talk to specific questions about the game. https://discord.gg/hSC8dgfkaz Please feel free to join us!
This time, we’d like to introduce the development process behind Arche’s third style, which we briefly mentioned in Developer’s Note #40.
Here is Arche’s third style once again.
Not only the weapon itself, but many elements of her appearance are uniquely designed specifically for this style.
We’ll walk you through how the design by character designer KUROBOSHI KOUHAKU is refined and brought to life inside the game.
In addition to her outfit, we also design a wide range of facial expressions to convey different emotions.
The character is designed not only from the front, but also from the back. In TSURUGIHIME, outfits gradually become damaged as the character takes hits, so details such as how the clothing tears from behind are carefully planned at this stage.
Once the main design is complete, we also create a chibi-style version. Even when styles change, all of these designs are still handled by KUROBOSHI KOUHAKU.
After the chibi design is finished, it is then translated into a 3D model. This is a careful process, carried out while staying as faithful as possible to KUROBOSHI KOUHAKU’s original design intent.
And finally—complete!
Although TSURUGIHIME is a side-scrolling game, we thoroughly check the character from every angle to ensure there are no visual inconsistencies, resulting in a version that looks natural and polished during actual gameplay.
We hope you’re looking forward to discovering how this third fighting style will appear in the game and what kind of gameplay it will offer.
We’ll continue to regularly share behind-the-scenes materials and development processes like this in future updates. Please follow TSURUGIHIME on the store page and stay tuned for more news!
Adding the game to your Wishlist would mean a lot to us!

Hello, this is the 213℉ development team.
Do you remember?
In TSURUGIHIME, our protagonist Arche possesses not only the ability to grow her “sword styles” as she develops, but also another major ability.
That’s right—
"Change of Style!"
During battle, she can switch styles in real time and fight in completely different ways—like this!
As you’ve seen, we’ve already introduced two styles so far. One features a single-handed sword, and the other wields a long katana.
And now, we’re revealing the third style for the first time—alongside a brand-new illustration designed by KUROBOSHI KOUHAKU!
The third style introduces dual-wield combat for the first time—using throwing weapons! Not only are the weapons different, but Arche’s outfit color and hairstyle also change, giving each style its own distinct personality. Be sure to compare the new look with her previous styles!
In every style, Arche’s outfit gradually becomes damaged as she takes hits in battle. Try to keep her outfit intact by mastering your play!
That’s it for today’s feature on Arche’s third combat style.
Thank you for reading all the way to the end. Please follow us for the next update—and if you haven’t yet, don’t forget to add the game to your Wishlist!

It’s been a while since our last update. Toward the end of the year, we’ve been focusing our efforts on preparing a larger update to share with you all. (Though that work isn’t finished just yet!!)
So far we’ve only shown a small part of TSURUGIHIME, but whenever we meet players at events these days, we often hear things like:
“I’m really looking forward to it!” “When’s the next update?” “Is it coming out soon?”
We’re pushing ahead with development to live up to those expectations, and we’ll be back here again soon with more update news.
Now then, let’s get to today’s topic. In previous Developer’s Notes, we introduced Arche, our protagonist, and the six rival Tsurugi wielders. This time, let’s turn to the beings that oppose them and threaten the world.
They are called “Kugutsu.”
Figures that look human.
Ones armed with weapons.
Ones with forms unlike any human.
And even some that take on a shape resembling Arche herself.
The world of TSURUGIHIME is overrun by the menace of the Kugutsu. They instinctively attack any humans they encounter. Lifeless and wandering purely on instinct, they cannot be stopped by ordinary people. Only those with the power of the Tsurugi can destroy them.
That’s why there are countless moments when Tsurugi wielders must stand and protect people from the threat of the Kugutsu.
Arche’s journey will pit her not only against six rivals, but also against the endless swarm of Kugutsu. So please—take up your blade, defeat them with your own hands, and guide Arche along her path of growth.
And yes—you may have noticed Arche in a yellow outfit at the end. We’ll share more about that in the next update, so be sure to follow us and stay tuned!

Hello, this is the 213℉ development team.
Continuing our series of character features from TSURUGIHIME, we are proud to present another central figure in the story—accompanied by a brand-new illustration by KUROBOSHI KOUHAKU.
This time, we focus on a mysterious girl who keeps her face hidden beneath a hood—Bouquet Flowerlessgarden.
Enjoy a glimpse into her daily life!
She can sleep anytime, anywhere. Literally, time and place don’t seem to matter.
If danger approaches, she reacts instantly. Her skills as a Tsurugi wielder are beyond question.
If something catches her attention, she can’t help but speak to it. Even if it’s clearly something that can’t talk back.
She raises her hand toward the sky. What is she reaching for?
What did you think of Bouquet’s everyday life before the tournament? Mysterious and unpredictable, what kind of clash awaits between her and our protagonist, Arche?
We hope you’re enjoying the gradual reveal of our cast of characters.
With this, our series on Arche’s rivals comes to a close. Starting next time, we’ll return with development updates and new behind-the-scenes content!

Hello, this is the 213℉ development team.
Continuing our series of character highlights from TSURUGIHIME, we are excited to introduce another key figure from the story, brought to life through exclusive artwork by KUROBOSHI KOUHAKU.
This time, we're focusing on Zeusix XIII—a mysterious girl with strong ties to the world of medicine.
Enjoy a glimpse into her daily life!
A focused gaze, lost in medical records. Her patients never stop coming.
A quiet, watchful gaze. She monitors the condition of a precious patient from the shadows.
A determined gaze. She shows no hesitation in wielding her power as a Tsurugi wielder.
A confused gaze. What goes through her mind as she looks down at her blood-stained hands?
What did you think of Zeusix's life before the tournament? What kind of battle will unfold when she finally faces off with Arche? More about these characters will be revealed, so please stay tuned.
Only one rival introduction remains! We’ll continue to share more character profiles alongside new illustrations in the upcoming updates.

Hello, this is the 213℉ development team.
We've been introducing key characters from TSURUGIHIME through exclusive illustrations by KUROBOSHI KOUHAKU. Now we're halfway through presenting the rivals of our protagonist.
This time, let's meet a girl with two distinct sides—Eurydia von Valhallaheart.

Her duty as a Tsurugi wielder: Only they can protect the people from looming threats.
Her obligation as a defender of her nation: Even if not directly tasked, she cannot stand idly by.
Her responsibility as a ruler: Even if placed upon her throne, she cannot abandon her post.
Her fleeting freedom as just a girl: Rare moments of rest are her only solace.

Hello, this is the 213℉ development team.
Once again, we’re excited to introduce a key character from the story of TSURUGIHIME, alongside a brand-new illustration drawn by KUROBOSHI KOUHAKU!
This time, we present a girl clad in military uniform: Farfrost LunaFilleigh.
Please enjoy these illustrations offering a glimpse into her everyday life!
A sparring match. With nothing but a wooden sword, she knocks down towering men wielding deadly weapons.
Center of attention. Curious eyes are drawn to the girl rumored to be a miracle.
A stray cat. In the pouring rain, she instinctively reaches out—and their eyes meet.
Torment. Frightened by something, mourning something—this side of her is shown to no one.
What did you think of this brief moment from Farfrost’s everyday life, before she enters the tournament? What kind of battle will unfold between her and the protagonist Arche?
We’ll continue to introduce more characters like her, little by little—so stay tuned!
More original character illustrations are coming in future updates. We’ll also begin sharing sneak peeks of our development progress, so look forward to that too! For the latest news on TSURUGIHIME, follow our Developer’s Notes. Be sure to add the game to your Wishlist and stay up to date!
