🔴Legacy of the Bloodmoon
Hi everyone!
Our darkest expansion for Vampire Survivors is out now and at a special price: one money! (or as low as we could go, depending on regional currency). Yes, the finance team wants to kill me. https://store.steampowered.com/app/4781330/Vampire_Survivors_Legacy_of_the_Bloodmoon/ This expansion pack follows Clan Bloodmoon as they retrace the pilgrimage of Saint Baal’Thasar, in search of a paradise lit by (you guessed it) a bright red moon. There is also an ancient manor that may or may not hide the secret of immortality.
Legacy of the Bloodmoon contains:
12 new villains friendly characters
16+ new weapons and evolutions, including a FireBall
11 savage new music tracks
1 new adventure
1 new very large stage
Other platforms
All platforms will be on stable version 1.16.100 or higher.
Version 1.16.105, which contains performance improvements and a fix to an ability for Baal'Thasar, should arrive on Android and Nintendo Switch by the end of next week.
🔴Legacy of the Moonspell
But that's not all!
Our very first expansion, Legacy of the Moonspell, is also getting extra content and, if you don't already own it, it is also at a special price: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2230760/Vampire_Survivors_Legacy_of_the_Moonspell/
- 5 extra weapons - 4 extra characters - 1 extra music track - buffs to the original cast of characters
🔴Version 1.16.100
The game has been updated to version 1.16.100 to handle the new content, but also to add performance and QOL improvements:
- Banish: after banishing an item, you can keep using the LevelUp menu. - Quickstart: it now tries to pick a character and/or stage that is linked to a missing unlock - Special passives buff (Operation Guns, Emergency Meeting): they can now be found in ArmaDios and as a LevelUp option whenever they'd normally be available, and even if the player has reached the passive limit. - Reworked several main framework features to improve CPU and memory usage across the board
- Fixed some Drowners not spawning - Fixed Gorgeous Moon and Big Fuzzy Fist missing sprites - Fixed some weapons glitching textures when paired with other weapons (eg. Fleuret) - Fixed damage numbers glitching at low FPS and improved their perfomance - Fixed stuttering when the stage minutes change - Fixed purchase of MAX Golden Eggs - Fixed Luck bonus glitching on Chula-Reh and Henry - Ongoing work to improve visibility of interactable objects/layers You can find the rest of the patchnotes since version 1.15.100 here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1794680/discussions/0/583931105981294494/
🔴Platform achievements
We're trying once again to find a way to add achievements without affecting the completion rate for the main game, but we don't know if it will be possible. Regardless, new Steam achievements for the base game, Moonspell, and Bloodmoon will be added in patch 1.17, scheduled to release before the end of the year. Once the achievements are published, they'll unlock automatically if you have already obtained them in game, so nothing is lost.
🔴VS Soundtrack
The soundtrack will be updated in a few days with the missing tracks from the base game, Moonspell, and Bloodmoon! Legacy of the Bloodmoon ended up having 11 music tracks instead of 8, but by now I think we're all pretty used to content creep 🤷♂️
Please remember that due to the legal insanities of music licensing, we are not allowed to distribute tracks from Operation Guns, Ode to Castlevania, or Emerald Diorama. But we're still trying...
Well, that's enough of the doom and gloom of Bloodmoon for me, need a nice sunny place to take a break 😎
Let's see what the options are: 🩻- darkest depths of Moongolow -> Vampire Crawlers 1.1 👻- Tokyo overrun by cursed spirits -> JJKRS 1.0 ☠️- [mysterious wheel] -> top secret - NDA - 0.1 ⛱️- Biggus Diccus Theme Park -> Vampire Survivors 1.17
Looks like there's a clear winner! Thank you and see you in the next patch! ⛱️

🟣 Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton
A few days back we announced Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton in collaboration with Shueisha Games!
View game page Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton is a game like Vampire Survivors, but with a twist: you'll be able to play an 8-player survivors royale PvPvE mode!
Some in-game names and terminology are still in development and may be subject to change.
While every player plays in their own world, you accumulate points by defeating curses and sorcerers, and with every 100 points accumulated you get to choose a Rule Change that can affect everyone's game. Some Rule Changes are INSANE, but for now we'll just reveal the simple ones you can see in the trailer (silence, slow, steal points...).
But Rule Changes aren't the only way to interact with other players. Introducing a world first, mind blowing, unbelievable game mechanic: PRESS A BUTTON.
While you move your auto-attacking character, your special attack also builds up. By PRESSING A BUTTON when the special attack is ready, you get to unleash your character's Special Attack, or, if that character can, a DOMAIN EXPANSION!
Other players can be caught in the effect of your Domain or Special Attack, so you have to keep an eye on other players' position and special-bar status.
A very important aspect of the 8-players mode is the Live Match Status Feed (working name). This big chunk of UI on the left side of the screen constantly updates in real time, acting not only as a scoreboard, but also sending out warnings and all kind of information about what the other players are up to.
At the end of the 15 minutes battle royale, the 2 players with the most points will face one another in a 19 seconds duel.
Despite the online focus, Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton is a game you can also play alone, in a mission-based mode, just like Vampire Survivors. If you don't ever want to go online, you'll still be able to play the 8-players battle royale mode against bots.
This is a game you buy once and can play anytime. We'll keep supporting the game after launch, with our usual style of content updates. So forget about gatcha elements or a forever-evolving PvP meta keeping your time and wallet hostages: our focus here are fun and affordability.
Apologies if you had enough of this wall of text, but I kepty mouth shut for almost two years and I haven't even got to the technical bits yet!
Yes, the game runs on the Vampire Survivors - First Survivaton framework, so you can expect that same familiar experience playing it, but we had to do several unique tweaks for Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble Survivaton.
Other than the obvious, completely new networking for the gameplay and Live Match Status Feed, we have doubled the resolution at which the game runs.
That allowed us to completely rebuild the whole VFX pipeline so that we could re-create the distinctive look of Curse Energy and the changes the whole stage depending on activated Domain Expansions or Special Attacks.
Another reason to double the resolution was to properly display the UI (that has been completely reworked at framework level) and the Live Match Status Feed, that is capable of also streaming gameplay snippets from other online players.
You'll see a lot of other tweaks, like the fact that characters look different if they are seen from the left or from the right, a "default attack" per character that triggers without any weapon, or walls that are actually solid to name a few.
Then there are other changes that won't be noticeable until you get to play the game. For example, while we are going by the same content-unlock-philosophy as Vampire Survivors, we are completely reworking the progression in the various game modes and also per-character, so that every game mode will feel fresh even to VS veterans.
That's all for now, I hope you have enjoyed the trailer; my favourite part was that bit were Gojo takes a walk.
🔴 Vampire Survivors 1.15 available on all platforms
- Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 - Android - iOS & Apple Arcade - PS4 and PS5 - Xbox - EGS
In the following weeks there will be small updates quite often on all platforms to bring them all on the same version, because all platforms have the same content, but not the same bugfixes and tweaks.
Please join the Discord or keep an eye on the Updates version of the wiki if you're interested in knowing the fixes in each update (I won't spam Steam News every week for small tweaks).
🔴 New Moonspell Content spoilers
When we'll launch Legacy of the Bloodmoon, we'll also update the contents of Legacy of the Moonspell. It will get 7 new unlocks, that will deliver:
4 new weapons: LunarMight, LunarSight, LunarBight, and LunarFlight
1 Special Evolution: Argent Flow
1 new passive Weapon: Pearl Magatama
4 new characters
1 new music track
some buffs to the original cast of characters:
- Menya Moonspell gets Overheal +16: activates her starting weapon. - Babi-Onna gets Overheal +16: gains a temporary bonus to MoveSpeed (that also means she attacks faster). - Megalo Menya Moonspell gets Overheal +16: activates her first weapon. - Megalo Syuuto Moonspell gets Overheal +16: equipped Blood weapons gain extra damage. - McCoy-Oni gets Overheal +16: gains a Reroll. - Gav'Et-Oni gets [a new feature shared with Bloodmoon so won't be spoiled today].This will be a free update, in fact last month we have actually dropped the price of Legacy of the Moonspell to balance out a bit the cost/content ratio of the various expansions.
🔴 Bloodmoon character tease
Legacy of the Bloodmoon is almost complete and we will be able to start testing and submissions soon! That means we'll have an actual release date soon too.
In the meantime, here's a Character Spotlight video about Malice Bloodmoon:
Congratulations to the trio of winners of the Lucca Comics ARG: Jenoss, Miryel, Siming, and GIU_LLS (:poemg:?), and to DissonantSynth for winning the Community Challenge!
We're finally getting into the design stage of the characters, with a first implementation that will soon be shared with the winners, behind the scenes, to start iterating together on gameplay mechanics. You can expect a few surprises and little extras about them when they'll make their appearance in the game!
Baron Husker and Sefi Rotto (:poemg:?) will come alive in a later update, v1.17
🔴 First steps for Steam Workshop support
Instead of waiting the conclusion of the current cycles of updates for Vampire Survivors as originally planned, we will develop modding support over time, one feature at a time. Feature 1 will be about adding CUSTOM (private/local) and WORKSHOP (public/Steam Workshop) characters!
Please join the Discord or use the public-beta forum if you're interested in trying out custom characters before they go live on the main branch, in a future update (currently aiming for v1.17)
🔴 Vampire Survivors Comics
Vampire Survivor is getting comics! We've been working with Titan Comics on a 4-issue series, written by David Hazan and illustrated by Jimm Kucaj, with the first issue coming out this September, available in 3 cover variants. Some familiar Vampire Survivors will go through Mad Forest, Inlaid Library, Dairy Plant, and a few other places, and there might even be some lore in there. Issue #1 is available to pre-order from your local comic shop or from Forbidden Planet if you're in the UK / EU.
Our first update to Vampire Crawlers add an Endless mode and several QOL improvements! You can find more details, the strategy behind future updates, and some content spoilers in the Steam News here.
🟢 Countup to the next announcement
Look, we're doing a lot of stuff across several small teams. I'm always happy to write the Steam News but I cannot bombard your feed with everything we're doing. Also took me something like 3 weeks to set this all up. So if you'd like to hear about what we're doing a bit more often, then please visit poncleup.com to see a recap or subscribe to our newsletter.
It's a countup instead of a countdown because, as you might have noticed, we're release-date-averse and have no idea ourselves when we'll drop something new 🤷♂️
Just know that the newsletters are written by the marketing team :vsskull:
Alright, I'm done with work, time to go back having fun on my secret project. Thank you everyone, I'll leave you in the self-proclaimed capable hands of the marketing team!

Namely, that it wants to infuse it with generative AI, and there's also some bollocks about using your Fortnite skins in other games and vice versa. Hi everyone! As anticipated several months ago, we’ve been working on several core systems of VS to be able to keep making more content, increase stability, and improve performance. It’s been a while so we have quite a few things to cover today: - a new expansion for VS - a new update - a new poncle team in Japan - the very sensible reason why Vampire Survivors has a sub-title now 🤷♂️
Vampire Survivors Update 1.15 (The Wet One) is out now on Steam!
You can find all details about 1.15 below, now here’s a stupid summer trailer about it:
Character Setup panel for skins, egg selection, etc…
Content filters in Character Selection and Unlocks menu
Stability improvements for late game and low-end platforms
Reduced loading times (more noticeable on other platforms than PC)
New content
1 New Stage: The Lycaeum
2 New Characters
either 2 or 10 new weapons 🤷♂️
3 New Darkanas
1 New Music Track
3 new Relics, of which 1 Secret rather than Unlockable
Other tweaks and features
"Random LevelUp" can now be toggled during a run if it is already unlocked on the Stage menu
Added option to Unbanish a weapon when picking it up from the stage
Buffed a few weapons like Magi-Stone and Mille Bolle Blu
Rendering fixes for a few weapons, including birds, Prismatic Missile, Runetracer…
Patch 1.15 will be released on all other platforms a bit later, by the end of the month, due to platform-specific optimizations and differences in save slots management. On the bright side, we will also be releasing a Nintendo Switch 2 version, with better performance and mouse support!
Vampire Survivors: Legacy of the Bloodmoon is coming Summer 2026
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4781330/Vampire_Survivors_Legacy_of_the_Bloodmoon/ Vampire Survivors: Legacy of the Bloodmoon is our “accidental” next expansion and the evil twin to Legacy of the Moonspell.
The original plan was just to make a little content update to Legacy of the Moonspell. Since it’s the first and smallest VS expansion, it felt right to try to balance its value a little. Needless to say, ideas started to flow and everything spiraled into a much bigger project. I’m not sure I’ll ever learn at this stage.
In the end, Legacy of the Moonspell will be getting its content buff (7 new unlocks) and Legacy of the Bloodmoon will live a life of its own.
This expansion pack follows Clan Bloodmoon as they retrace the pilgrimage of Saint Baal’Thasar, in search of a paradise lit by (you guessed it) a bright red moon. There is also an ancient manor that may or may not hide the secret of immortality.
Legacy of the Bloodmoon will contain:
12 new villains friendly characters
16+ new weapons and evolutions, including a FireBall
8 savage new music tracks
1 new adventure
1 new very large stage
Interesting bits and bobs I won’t spoil at this time
But there’s more. Legacy of the Bloodmoon will cost approximately 1 money (0.99 USD), and Legacy of the Moonspell will receive a price cut and also be priced 1 money :)
You can find all details about Legacy of the Bloodmoon below, now here’s a villainous trailer about it:
Among the many projects we’re working on (approximately 15 projects, not 15 games, please don’t panic) there is also a lineup of Survivaton games. It’s definitely a meaningful word that means “survive a ton” and nothing else.
These are games like Vampire Survivors, developed internally at poncle, tied to IPs that might need unique game mechanics, a different graphic style, or are so expansive that ultimately deserve their own standalone game (compared to making a DLC for VS). I’d love to make examples, but I’d have to spoil way too much.
Being developed internally, we’ll be able to guarantee affordability and worthwhile titles.
Since a good 90% of global VS players aren’t reached by the Steam news (or are not interested in gaming news in general), the best way to also let them know that the Survivatons are tied directly to VS is to also call VS a Survivaton, hence the new sub-title.
Please note there’s a dash before First Survivaton instead of a semi-colon, because DLCs exist... The next time I name a game I’ll remember to not use something as generic as “Monster Hunter” as inspiration please know I love Monster Hunter 💌
poncle Japan
We can finally say we are building poncle Japan! It will be poncle, but in Japan.
The new studio is headed by Sawaki Takeyasu, known for his work on Devil May Cry, Ōkami, and El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron.
Having a studio in Japan will simplify and speed up the work we do with all our Japanese partners, and also bring new opportunities for collabs.
It’s too soon to say what the team will be working on; we are planning to fully open the studio by the end of 2026.
Now it's time for all the FAQs and info blocks, thanks for reading and waiting patiently for this update!

Legacy of the Bloodmoon FAQs
When does it release? Summer 2026.
What do you define as summer? Not winter.
How much does it cost? Around £0.95, with regional pricing varying by platform and country.
Why will Legacy of the Moonspell’s price change too? It felt right to adjust the price so that it’s more balanced compared to the amount of content of the other expansions. Please note that some stores have minimum prices in certain countries. In some places, Moonspell was already too cheap to make it cheaper.
What about Tides of the Foscari then? Please at least wait for Moonspell and Bloodmoon before asking for more, we know we know 😭
Will Moonspell get new content too? Yes, 7 new unlocks for a few more weapons and characters.
Is Vampire Survivors still getting free updates? Yes of course, there’s still plenty on the roadmap.

Detailed info
New stage: The Lycaeum An underwater-themed stage where you press some buttons, beat some crabs, run to the center, kill more things, press more buttons, don’t die. The Drowner can only be defeated via raw damage or by reaching the top of the stage. Hidden treasures can be collected only using Mad Groove or Lavatrix Machina. Teleporters become active after reaching the top once.
New character: Para Kooleo Starts with a Move Speed and Duration bonus. When his HP drops below a certain threshold it triggers a Vacuum. He also likes to evolve weapons. He has an abundance of skins.
New character: Big Troubler Loves gold and gets trigger happy when he gets gold. The gold also loves him and will protect him at all costs.
New weapon: Penshin Fatcha & Tonno Subito / Tonnado / Tonn’omoto / Tonn’oddeeo / Tonne / Unsurpassed / Miracle of Multiplication. Starting weapon for Para Kooleo. Select one of six tuna forms. Evolve it from one to another, stacking stats as you go. Evolve at least once to transform all the Vacuums pickup into "Lavatrix Machina". Then, if you choose to, evolve into the secret evolution, Miracle of Multiplication where everything happens at once. Does not require any items to evolve, but many, many treasure chests.
New weapon: Unearthly Bolt & Spirit Disturbance Starting weapon of Big Troubler. Spawns green bolts that attack the closest enemy. It deals increasingly high damage if it Crits in rapid succession. The cap for this damage bonus is determined by Revivals. Evolve with a maxed out Tirajisú. The evolution spawns a green dragon that always deals critical hits.
New relic: Green Eyes Vizard Bat Dragons will appear on the Stage Selection menu until they have been defeated at least once. They will appear on the map during a run, and they have to be activated by getting hit. Once active, time stops and enemy waves are changed until they are killed. You can fight them again in new runs, they simply won't be signaled in Stage Selection anymore after getting killed once.
New Darkanas: 0 - Stake to your Heart Unlocked by defeating a Bat Dragon with Big Troubler while using the Game Killer Arcana. You will no longer be able to level up using experience gems. Instead, when defeating an enemy, they will also drop a Gold Coin, that you’ll be able to spend at a special merchant to buy weapons. Gold coins will also become your health: don't reach 0 (and quit before Red Death deals the usual 65535 damage per hit to you)
New Darkanas: VIII - Edge of the Earth Unlocked by triggering a Lavatrix Machina with Para Kooleo. Gain Thorns and Move Speed locked at 200%, ignore walls, destroy light sources upon contact, and attract things that normally aren’t attracted by a Magnet, like treasure chests.
New Darkanas: XIX - Heir of Fate Unlocked by surviving 15 minutes in inverse Boss Rash with Random Events and Random Level Ups enabled. While active, defeating enemies with Fire damage causes them to drop Scorched Souls. Additionally, a Nduja Fritta Tanto will trigger when the character's Health dips to a certain point.
New Relics: Survarocchi Unlocked by purchasing it from the Big Troubler merchant in The Lycaeum. Allows Survarot cards to spawn from light sources. Previously available only via the Ante Chamber dlc and a secret character, Survarots
Enemahs (Secret rather than Unlockable) Unlocked by purchasing it from the Big Troubler merchant in The Lycaeum after defeating any two unique Bat Dragons. Adds an extra 18 cards based on various enemies to drafts of Survarot.
Can I now share DLCs when playing online? Not yet, in this patch we managed to do the groundwork to allow for DLC sharing, but we still have to complete the feature.
Can I now use Cross-save on PS and Apple+? Not yet. We still don’t have the right policies in place to do that.
What platforms is update 1.15 available on? Update 1.15 is launching on Steam first. Other platforms are planned to follow by the end of the month, including Xbox, PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS, and Epic Games Store.
Is update 1.15 coming to Nintendo Switch 2? Yes! Update 1.15 will bring Vampire Survivors to Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time. It won’t arrive at the exact same time as the other platforms, but the current plan is for Nintendo Switch 2 support to follow around two weeks after update 1.15 (but don’t hold us to that).
Where are the new achievements? We will sort out the new Steam achievements in the next patch (they will pop automatically).
Hey are you still updating Vampire Crawlers? Yes of course, it’s taking longer than expected to release the first QOL improvements patch and a cute looking roadmap because we got stuck for days trying to exit the game.

Today, we are releasing Vampire Crawlers, a new spin-off set in the Vampire Survivors universe.
It takes the familiar chaos of Vampire Survivors and turns it into a casual, turn-based, card-driven BLOBBER with roguelite elements.
We’ve talked before about wanting to take some of the accidental core pillars of Vampire Survivors and apply them to other genres: accessibility, immediacy, affordability, replayability, lightheartedness, and the usual amount of flashy nonsense. Vampire Crawlers is the first attempt at that.
Crawl through dungeons, build busted decks, master the TurboTurn™, and try to keep the run going long enough to pretend it was all planned. You can watch the launch trailer below.
(In other news, God appears briefly and remains unhelpful.)
Vampire Crawlers
The full game includes everything from the demo, plus more content, more fixes, and more improvements across the board. The game is built around:
TurboTurn™ combat: Turn-based combat without the wait. Queue your moves instantly and let the game resolve them at full speed.
The Combo: cards are played in ascending mana order, and each step multiplies the next card’s effect
Wild cards that let you extend the stack and push combos further
Deckbuilding through progression: level up to gain new cards, find power-ups, chase evolutions, and customize your runs
Character cards and summoned survivors that add more effects and help create larger cascades
Dungeon exploration with treasures, floor progression, and interactive points of interest
A pace you choose yourself: take your time and be tactical, or play turns as fast as you humanly can
The full version also launches with the fixes and improvements made after the demo feedback period, and we are planning to keep the demo available as well.
So all of us at poncle and Nosebleed Interactive would like to say thank you to everyone who played the demo, reported bugs, shared feedback, and generally tried to break things. That was genuinely useful.
Releasing now — $9.99 / €9.99 / £9.99
You can get Vampire Crawlers on Steam by clicking the link below.
Also releasing into the wild: the Vampire Crawlers Original Soundtrack.
The OST includes the game’s main theme, “Il Cuor non si Spaura,” composed by Yoko Shimomura, alongside tracks by Daniele Zandara, Filippo Vicarelli, and Michael Coviello. For a total of 32 tracks and over 1 hour of music for crawling purposes, available in MP3 and FLAC on Steam. It includes both the Crawling and Turbo versions, hidden tracks that are no longer hidden, and yes, there is a disco version of the inn theme.
What platforms is the game on? Vampire Crawlers is available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. Mobile versions are planned for later in 2026.
How much does it cost? £9.99 / $9.99 / €9.99 / ¥1200.
How long to beat the game? Around 20 to 30 hours, and a bit longer if you are going for every unlock.
Does the game support controllers? Yes. Controller support is included.
Does the game support cross-save between different platforms? Not right now, but we’re looking into it in time for the mobile ports.
Will save data carry over on Steam if I played the demo? Yes. Demo progress can carry over to the full game on Steam.

Sneak peek at Vampire Survivors update 1.15
We're expecting to release the next patch in Q2 this year, since there are major features that require more work and testing compared to the usual content updates, like multiple save slots, content filters, or memory optimisations for low-end machines/devices.
Content-wise instead, this is the list we're working on for 1.15: - 1 stage - 2 characters ~ 2 weapons (+evos) - 3 relics - 3 Darkanas
If you'd like to try the new features and see the new content early, please join the public-beta branch on Steam as we're going to update it in the following weeks. We're also posting additional teasers in our Discord!
In the meantime, here's a sneak peek at the new stage, The Lycaeum:
And a Spinnn:
But update 1.15 is not the only thing we're working on... This year there's something ominous in the skies of Vampire Survivors 🌕
Patch notes for 1.14.111
We've been rolling out several fixes and tweaks since our previous content update, and we still have a few in progress. Here's a list of the most recent changes: - Fixed requirements for several unlocks in Emerald Diorama and Ante Chamber DLC - Fixed Ante Chamber weapons not appearing in Adventures - Fixed some secret spells not working properly - Fixed some stage-specific achievements triggering from the wrong stage - Fixed some Adventure Progress entries not being detected - Fixed Sammy coffin unlock text in Adventure - Fixed the unlocks related to the ‘Glimmer’ ability of the character ‘Diva No. 5’ are not being unlocked after completing the requirements in online multiplayer mode - Fixed chests may not spawn where bosses are killed in Westwoods. - Fixed “Fully Evolve the Super Missile” and “Get the twin dragon to level 6” unlocks - Player 2 can now transition out of death boss fight fine in online mode - Fixed Diva No.5 - Virginia Skin Won't Unlock - Fixed Uppercut a Red Reaper secret doesn't function in online - Fixed stage specific achievements incorrectly unlocking for newly unlocked stages if their conditions were met during the run where you unlocked the stage - Fixed Player's online background remains as adventure background, if invited from adventure. - Highlight weapons owned by all main players in arcana page - Allow Ameya to pickup cats when they're a follower - Allow Fake Trio, Slogra and Gaibon, Bonnie and Formina to spawn followers when they're cpus - Fixed First player character spawns out of map bounds on Party Mode in Astral Stairs - Fixed After the death fight when it fades to black you are stuck on a black screen rather than going to the credits - Fixed Client player soft locks, when Host exits character selection before Clients load in fully. - Making sure join button is selected again when closing the join game error popup after failing to join a game because the specified room didn't exist - Party mode UI changes - Fix corner cases where UI would update incorrectly if controllers were added and removed during selections in party mode

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kOMUjZLnoc Hello, yes, look, last year has been an absolute clusterfuck at poncle, but absolutely not nearly enough to stop us 😎 Thank you all for supporting us for yet another year!
No matter how cold and cloudy it gets, it's always summer at poncle. And always Tuesday. Here's a handy list of what we've been able to unfuck from our big 2025 clusterfuck:
As mentioned a few times in the Steam news over the years, we've been busy greenlighting and kickstarting all sorts of projects, but we've always been quite cryptic about them. Remember the "experiments"? Recently we started to see several fruits of all that work, like bringing VS spin-off concepts to other indie studios to team up together with (like Vampire Crawlers obviously!) or lending the base VS-Engine to other studios we like and that approached us with interesting ideas (like Warhammer Survivors), not to mention all the collabs we managed to put together for fun!
So, we're always at work on Vampire Survivors updates of course, but let's also have a look a bit more in detail about every game project poncle's been cooking outside of the main games:
🦇 VS Spinoffs
Shortly after the initial success of Vampire Survivors, I was already thinking of taking some of the accidental core pillars behind the development of VS and to apply them to existing genres that I personally enjoy. Pillars like accessibility, immediacy, lightheartedness, and tons of sparkly stuff. I knew I wouldn't have the bandwidth to do that entirely in-house for a very long time, that is why I tried to bring some of these new game concepts to other studios to start working together. This means that concepts like Vampire Crawlers have been developing in the background for almost 4 years!
Vampire Crawlers has been doing everything right since its very first prototype, so it's also the one that proceeded the fastest and that will be released in 2026. The core concept at the base of the game was to be able to play a turn-based combat system at any pace, even as fast as humanly possible, and still deliver accurate results. Everything else, including using cards to represent abilities, came second! If you want to know how that idea evolved, please keep following the Vampire Crawlers page because we'll talk a lot about all of its game mechanics over the next few months. Yeah yeah, we had to put "deckbuilding" as a buzz word, because that is a major feature after all, but the game doesn't really play like a standard deckbuilder. I hope plenty of other players will be able to try and enjoy Vampire Crawlers as much as I do! [Editor’s note: I keep clicking at the screen even after the battle is over, send help]
We've seen what happened after the success of VS, but what about before? Well, when VS was in version 0.1 and had only 12 weapons and 7 characters, I thought it was close to completion. In fact it was supposed to have just about twice as much content in the final version. But the whole point of developing the game was for me to have fun making content, so at that time I had already started to think about what to do after finishing it and to brainstorm ideas about how to reuse the little game engine in different settings. Mindblowing ideas eh: zombies, vikings, aliens, presidents, viruses... (look, it was 2021... )
Today, of course, it would be ridiculous and a slap to the face of the fans if poncle were to sell a new game that is just a "Vampire Survivors but with aliens", that is why VS keeps getting all sorts of new content for free and via expansions. If we are to work on a new game based on the VS engine, it has to offer a substantial difference from the original, a good reason to justify a new price tag.
What that good reason is depends on the projects we stumble upon, but a good example is Warhammer Survivors by Auroch Digital. Warhammer is a very popular IP that offers a lot of different eras and settings to explore, and Auroch Digital is a fantastic game dev studio that has proven to understand the IP and has already delivered the beautiful Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun. [Editor’s note: I've 100% VS on all platforms, multiple times, I NEED more VS Engine games]
Just to say that not everything we're doing revolves around VS, please know that we're also working on original titles/IPs. We've started these mostly for fun and they're just side-projects for now, quite far away, so we won't be talking about them for a long time. [Editor’s note: has anyone seen my rpg?]
⚠️ Our long-term secret project
When it comes to the poncle core dev team, everything mentioned so far was just side-projects| The core team in fact has been busy since the start of 2025 on a long-term project, that, of course, we can't say anything about yet, not even what kind of game it is, nor if it is about VS or not :p [Editor’s note: this is fine. I'm handling a perfectly reasonable amount of work.]
Vampire Survivors 1.15 coming in 2026
We're still rolling out hotfixes on all platforms for version 1.14, but in the meantime we can start having a look at what's coming in the first patch of 2026. The patch has a lot of major QOL improvements that require a rework of some core systems; that is a lot of words to say it's most likely coming in Q2 rather than at the start of the year.
🟢Arriving in 1.15 - Multiple save slots: about time eh! - Stability Update: before adding even more new content, we need to make sure the game engine performs better on all devices - Content management: filters and a better organization of character selection, unlock menu etc. to avoid getting lost in the large amount of content - A content pack: an usual combination of new stage+character+weapon+darkana
🟠Unlikely to be ready for 1.15 - DLC sharing when playing online - Cross-save on platforms that needs different policies for us (PS, Apple+)
🔴Definitely arriving post 1.15 - Platform achievements: to avoid the usual disruption, going forward we'll try to bundle all new Steam achievements in a single update at the end of the year (new in-game unlocks will work as usual). Platforms with stricter achievement policies (PS and Xbox) might still get them at the same time as the patch releases instead.
We'll be using the public-beta heavily for this next patch, so anyone who wants to try new features and content in advance, please feel free to join the beta branch and ideally the Discord too.
If you want to peer even further in the future of VS, worry not as the Chaos Roadmap is here to (not) help you:
Can we deliver all these remaining content packs in 2026? Will there be any other out-of-the-blue collabs like Balatro? When's the next lunar eclipse? Did you know the code name for Ante Chamber was "Lemon", from the Italian word "Limonare"? Are you sure you want to google it at work? Did I really mention ALL poncle projects?
Well, that's it for now. Another massive thank you to all of you for your support, hope to see you soon for 1.15 and for Vampire Crawlers!

As a candidate for most stupid game name of the year the minute it got announced, VAMPIRE CRAWLERS has the goal to bring many of the elements of Vampire Survivors to an existing game genre: deckbuilding. Or was it dungeon crawling? Blobber maybe? Eh.
Play cards in a turbo turn-based combat, Explore dungeon maps to find treasures and customisations, All dressed in a special Vampire Survivors sauce and some usual little rogue-lite elements.
VAMPIRE CRAWLERS will arrive in 2026 and is the first of our concepts for VS spin-offs that we've been making with other indie studios! It's a full game that we're nuts enough to aim to globally release on all platforms next year: please wish us luck!
We at poncle hope that you'll like VAMPIRE CRAWLERS just as much as we do: both making it and play testing it has been an absolute blast for both deckbuilding veterans and people who never played a card game before.
See you closer to the end of the year for our 2025 recap and a glance at future content for Vampire Survivors (and not only), but in the meantime please let us know what you think of VAMPIRE CRAWLERS so far and also if you have suggestions that can beat the full official title: VAMPIRE CRAWLERS: the turbo wildcard from VAMPIRE SURVIVORS!
FAQs
- How did this project start? Shortly after the initial success of Vampire Survivors, I was already thinking of getting in touch with other indie studios to start working on spin-offs, so that I could focus on building my team to keep working on VS, while also getting some of my game concepts for existing genres to be developed. This means that it is something that has effectively been in the works for almost 4 years! I've been calling this kind of projects "experiments" in the past Steam news.
- Is this some sort of sequel to Vampire Survivors? This is just a spin-off of Vampire Survivors, hopefully the first of a series of spin-offs! The idea is to take some of the accidental core pillars behind the development of VS and to apply them to existing genres. I’m talking about accessibility, immediacy, affordability, replayability, lightheartedness, and tons of flashy stuff.
- Why is this a "Vampire Survivors" game and not a new IP? VS is very well known, so I hope that this will help players understand immediately that this game has been made with the same core principles in mind, simply applied to a different game genre. Also this helps massively getting out of the way one of the major blockers I always had when making games: defining story, settings, lore etc:
When making VS, I managed to put all of that aside and let it all come out organically while developing the game, by taking inspiration just from a weapon icon, a music track (from the usual VS composers Daniele Zandara and Filippo Vicarelli, who are back, covering each other’s music tracks for Vampire Crawlers), or even wacky theories from the community! Now all that lore has a huge value, it allows me and the other devs to just focus on the gameplay aspects of the game, while at the same time allowing space for new ideas thanks to the open-endedness of VS.
- Will you update Vampire Crawlers post-launch like Vampire Survivors? Yes, we are already planning to keep supporting the game post-launch and we have a thousand ideas about what we could do! Vampire Crawlers is a whole game, with a beginning and an end, so we are going to wait and see what the players say and suggest before choosing what to do post-launch.
- When is it releasing? When almost every other game is releasing: before GTA6 :) We're aiming for early/mid 2026
- So, is this a deckbuilder dungeon crawler? As I'm getting similar questions so I shall re-post. VC is not a deckbuild game. Could move subjectively but not a dungeon crawler game either. By incorporating with the concept of turbo(turning), it's totally brand new genre called action Turboturn™ game(Turbo Turn system). (YES, it's just a rogue-lite deckbuilder with a touch of dungeon crawling)
- Is this a new game from Luca Galante? Yes, hello, the game concepts for the VS spin-off are born from the same Italian-memes-ridden mind, then expertly developed, improved, and brought to life by the teams partner of poncle
Poncle’s mega successful Vampire Survivors has inspired an entirely new genre—the “reverse bullet hell.” However, now the company is taking inspiration from a different genre to deliver a brand new experience. Announced at today’s Xbox Partner Preview, Vampire Crawlers will be a
Poncle’s mega successful Vampire Survivors has inspired an entirely new genre—the “reverse bullet hell.” However, now the company is taking inspiration from a different genre to deliver a brand new experience.
Announced at today’s Xbox Partner Preview, Vampire Crawlers will be a roguelike deckbuilding dungeon crawler set within the Vampire Survivors universe. True to form, players will be able to create unbelievably powerful decks to mow through hordes of enemies as they explore dungeons and collect treasure.
What separates Vampire Crawlers from other roguelike deckbuilders, however, is its unique, “snowballing” combo system—where players play cards in ascending Mana order to land combos, where each step multiplies the next card’s effect. Whether players want to use cards one-by-one or generate mass chaos by playing as quickly as possible, thanks to the “turbo turn-based engine,” players will always get accurate outcomes,... Read more
