Patch Update – UI Improvements, Gameplay Fixes, and Localization Updates Now Live (v1.2.4)
This update introduces additional fixes and quality-of-life improvements focused on menu functionality, quest navigation, Echo progression, traversal, input customization, and overall gameplay stability. It also includes localization improvements, level design polish, and fixes for several gameplay and presentation issues as we continue refining the overall player experience.
UI, Menu & Quest Improvements
Fixed an issue in the Preparation Menu where Echo icons would not properly update when changing Loadouts.
Fixed an issue in the Quest Menu that could prevent players from changing Quest Tabs when no Main Quests remained.
The Quest Menu now automatically opens to the first tab containing available quests, following this order: Main Quests → Side Quests → All Quests.
Fixed an issue in the Transmogrification Menu that could prevent players from navigating the item grid.
Fixed an issue where Item Details in the Equipment Menu would not properly switch when the player did not have an item equipped in the selected slot.
Movement keys can now be remapped when using keyboard controls.
Echo System Fixes
Fixed an issue where purchasing another copy of an Echo could cause all existing copies of that Echo to reset to Level 1.
Gameplay, Combat & Traversal Fixes
Ghost Felines now help guide players through specific locations within the tutorial area.
Fixed an issue where completing a Vault onto a rope could prevent the player from jumping correctly.
Fixed an issue that could sometimes break player movement when using Unstuck during a Wall Jump.
Fixed an issue where grounded spells would not function correctly in certain areas of the Catacombs.
Fixed an issue where quitting the game while teleporting with Crystals could cause the player to load into an incorrect location.
Cursed Realm Fixes
Fixed an issue where the camera could be positioned incorrectly during the Close Rift animation if the player interacted with the portal while attacking.
Cutscene, Journal & Presentation Fixes
Fixed an issue where the camera could be positioned incorrectly when a cutscene began while the player was crouched.
Fixed an issue where Journals could display unintended formatting text, such as bug text here.
Fixed an issue where Bird's Report 4 did not display the correct information.
Corrected the Reaping Winds video preview.
World & Level Design Improvements
Blocked several unintended progression skips throughout the game.
Fixed an unintended progression skip in the Fire Village.
Added general visual improvements throughout the game.
Localization Improvements
Reviewed and corrected 850 strings across French and Hungarian localization.
Fixed an issue where player Magic Stats could fail to initialize correctly when Chinese was selected as the game language.

Inspired by the Year of the Fire Horse, the all-new Blazing Vermillion equipment set joins the growing collection of unique gear available throughout Ailur—and offers a first look at the enigmatic Keoza clan.
The Blazing Vermillion weapon's special ability unleashes a blazing Keozan-themed spectral horse that charges across the battlefield, trampling enemies caught in its fiery path.
It's one of our favorite additions in this update, and we can't wait to see it in your hands.

New NPC, Questline & Mechanics
A mysterious new character has arrived in Ailur. Meet Claude, a brand-new NPC whose questline introduces several of Kristala's newest gameplay systems while laying the foundation for future content updates.
Transmogrification, allowing players to customize their appearance while retaining the stats of their preferred equipment.
The Rebirth Mirror, allowing players to revisit and customize their character's appearance—including fur pattern, fur length, voice, and more—at any point during their adventure.
The Cursed Realm, an all-new gameplay feature that marks the beginning of one of Kristala's largest long-term gameplay systems.
Enter the Cursed Realm
A strange corruption continues to spread throughout Ailur. The Cursed Realm is an all-new gameplay feature that serves as the foundation for future challenges, rewards, and content updates throughout Kristala's development.
This update marks players' first opportunity to transport into the Cursed Realm through various Rifts in the world—and discover what lies beyond.
New Keoza Clan Equipment
Get your first glimpse into one of Kristala's future clans with an all-new equipment set inspired by the mysterious Keoza Clan. New additions include:
A brand-new Keoza-themed Blazing Vermillion Armor Set
A matching Blazing Vermillion Weapon Set
The Flaming Horse special ability, offering players their first taste of Keoza clan magic
These new additions expand build variety while offering an early look at one of the clans still to come on Kristala's journey.
Expanded Story & World Building
The world of Ailur continues to grow. This update introduces new narrative content throughout the game, including:

Gameplay, Combat & Traversal Improvements
Fixed a conflict between quest notification widgets and dialogue that could prevent players from advancing conversations.
Fixed an issue where using the Unstuck button while Wall Grab was active could cause unexpected behavior.
Fixed an issue where using Unstuck while interacting with ladders could cause players to become stuck in a flying state.
Fixed an issue where dashing while dismounting could prevent the player from rotating correctly.
UI, Menu & Inventory Improvements
Fixed an issue where selecting Revert in the Kris Menu during Respec Mode could incorrectly consume Devotion Points.
Holding Left Shift while using the Inventory menu now correctly scrolls the Item Description instead of the item grid.

World Improvements
Fixed numerous minor level design, collision, environment, and traversal issues throughout Ailur to improve exploration and navigation.

Patch Update – Localization Improvements, Performance Fixes, and Gameplay Updates Now Live (v1.1.2)
This update introduces additional improvements focused on localization quality, menu stability, gameplay functionality, and overall performance. It also includes fixes for Echo progression, merchant inventory, weapon abilities, traversal, and CPU usage as we continue improving the overall player experience.
Gameplay, Combat & Traversal Fixes
Fixed an issue where projectile spells could display Character Hit visual effects in an incorrect location.
Fixed an issue where the Raksha Sword & Shield and Revenant Key & Crest weapon abilities could fail to reset, preventing them from being activated again.
Fixed an issue where an invalid tutorial popup could cause the game to freeze.
Improved traversal by allowing certain Wall Run volumes to automatically trigger a jump at the end, helping players transition more smoothly.
Echo System Improvements
Fixed an issue where the Echo Upgrade menu could incorrectly forget the selected Echo while upgrading it, causing the menu to become stuck.
Fixed an issue where the Nisar Weapon Merchant could incorrectly sell +0 Echoes.
UI, Menu & Input Fixes
Fixed an issue that prevented players from remapping the Triangle (PlayStation) and Y (Xbox/Keyboard) input.
Performance Improvements
Fixed an issue that could cause CPU usage to accumulate each time the Settings menu was opened.
Localization Improvements
Fixed the positioning of the "Skip Ahead" widget when using localized languages.
Fixed an issue preventing Chinese subtitles from displaying correctly.

Patch Update – Echo System Improvements, Spell Tree Updates, and Gameplay Fixes Now Live (v1.1.1)
This update introduces additional improvements focused on Echo usability, inventory clarity, Spell Tree readability, Preparation Menu functionality, and overall gameplay stability. It also includes fixes for progression issues, spell behavior, equipment visuals, interaction responsiveness, and player-state issues related to traversal and animations.
Spell Tree & Build Information Improvements
Spells in the Preparation Menu now display their Cooldown
Spell requirements in the Preparation Menu are now displayed in red when requirements are not met
Updated the Preparation Menu and Spell Tree to display current Cooldown and Mana Cost values alongside a detailed breakdown of modifiers in parentheses
Added an explanation sheet to the Spell Tree menu
Players can no longer begin a new game until both a Class and Clan have been selected
Fixed a visual issue with spell cooldowns that could incorrectly make spells appear available while still on cooldown
Fixed an issue where spell descriptions in the Spell Tree and Preparation Menu could fail to properly update Mana Cost values when equipping items with Attunement stats or when level requirements were not met
Fixed an issue where Spell Mana Cost could incorrectly display values such as 20 (20+0)
Echo System Improvements
Added a new page to Weapon and Talisman descriptions in the Equipment and Inventory menus that displays equipped Echoes
The Echo information page for Weapons and Talismans now displays which Echo Types can be equipped. If an item cannot equip Echoes, it now properly displays “No Echo Slot”
In the Preparation Menu, Weapon and Talisman Item Cards now display descriptions for equipped Echoes
Added fixes to the Echo Upgrade Menu navigation, allowing players to move directly between Type A and Type E Echoes using previous/next navigation

Fixed a rare issue where players might not properly receive the Wall Run skill after progressing through the related quest. This should now also be corrected for affected save files

Added fixes for multiple equipment clipping issues
Fixed an issue that caused Claws to appear pitch black in the Character Creation menu
Fixed an issue where opening the Clan Selector in Character Creation could incorrectly force players to reselect their spell even when no Clan change was made
Fixed an issue where the Finalize/Discard Changes popup in Character Creation could occasionally become stuck on screen
Fixed an issue where the player character’s underwear body could incorrectly change from male to female after death

Fixed several locations in Nisar that could allow unintended progression skips

Over the last month, we’ve been listening, refining, optimizing, and working alongside the community to continue evolving Kristala. Since launch on April 23rd, we’ve rolled out 17 patches focused on improving stability, performance, gameplay polish, and player-requested changes.
As we kick off the Resurgence, players stepping into Ailur will be jumping into the strongest version of Kristala we've released to date as we jump to Version 1.1.0.

The Resurgence begins with Kristala 1.1.0, an update introducing significant gameplay, character creation, performance, and environment improvements focused on player customization clarity, traversal behavior, progression visibility, inventory usability, combat interactions, and overall world polish.
It also includes continued optimization work across several regions alongside multiple fixes for UI functionality, cutscene presentation, spell behavior, and encounter stability.

A quick hotfix addressing the issue preventing interaction with Zazagrul’s cauldron during Something Wicked Part 3 is now live. Players previously blocked from progressing this quest should now be able to continue normally.

This update introduces combat balance improvements across weapon enchantments, status effects, and enemy stagger behavior, alongside refinements to traversal interactions, Undead Ally summoning reliability, Talent and Stat Respec functionality, and several progression-related fixes.

Additional lighting, control options, and equipment behavior updates are also included as we continue improving overall gameplay consistency and responsiveness based on player feedback.
Gameplay, Combat & Traversal Improvements
Made minor traversal improvements in Myr to improve movement flow and navigation reliability
Adjusted weapon enchantment scaling for Sword & Shield and Greatswords to improve effectiveness relative to Claws
Increased effectiveness of weapon enchantments
Adjusted inherent weapon status buildup for improved balance across weapon types
Increased effectiveness of the Freeze status effect
Disabled Poise damage buildup during an active stagger state to prevent unintended chain-staggering
Added active Poise to several larger enemies to improve stagger behavior consistency
Adjusted attack conditions for Kota Large and Kota Large Undead enemies so abilities trigger more appropriately

Patch Update – Global Poise Rebalance, Combat Improvements, and Progression Fixes Now Live
This update restores and expands recent combat improvements—including a global enemy Poise rebalance—alongside fixes for progression blockers, stat calculation issues, traversal interactions, UI behavior, and environmental collision across multiple areas of the game.

Additional audio refinements and localization fixes are also included as we continue improving gameplay consistency and responsiveness based on player feedback.
Gameplay, Combat & Traversal Improvements
Fixed an issue where enemy Poise values were not updating as intended
Reworked enemy Poise across all enemies and bosses so staggering feels more intuitive and aggressive combat is more rewarding
Adjusted heavy attacks across all weapon types so they can be properly charged, improving responsiveness and impact
Fixed an issue where Greatsword heavy attacks could unintentionally trigger certain spells or skills
Increased stagger windows for Kota Rangers, Kota Ravagers, and Kota Assassins to encourage counterattack opportunities
Corrected Mana costs for channeling and charged spells
Reduced Raise Undead Mana cost from 80 to 60 and cooldown from 60 seconds to 45 seconds
Fixed inconsistencies when interacting with rope pulleys
Improved camera behavior while using rope pulleys
Improved knockback logic to prevent players from becoming stuck inside collision during combat interactions

This update introduces combat responsiveness improvements, summon system adjustments, enemy behavior fixes, encounter tuning, and audio refinements across multiple areas of the game. Thank you to everyone continuing to share feedback with us as we keep improving Kristala.
Gameplay & Combat Improvements
Increased player rotation windows during attack animations to improve responsiveness and control
Adjusted hitbox behavior for Shard Guardian Lunge attacks to improve combat consistency
Adjusted dodge, roll & perfect dodge timings to be more lenient
Reduced the target lock angle threshold to improve lock-on responsiveness during combat
Jumping, sprinting, and dodging now consume Balance only during combat encounters
Summons now have a limited lifetime
Summons can no longer be targeted by the player
Summons no longer deal damage to the player
Reduced the distance at which enemies can call nearby reinforcements
Summon ground explosion effects no longer damage the player

Ayrag now destroys certain arena elements on contact as intended
