As some of you may noticed (or did not) since January 19th, 2024 - Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR & VR DLCs are NO LONGER available in the Steam store.
Everyone - who owned a UFS VR (app) or VR DLCs - received the same content in Ultimate Fishing Simulator (app) and all owned DLCs.
The VR app will be no longer updated (besides the last patch) and is officially EOL & EOS (end-of-life, end-of-support). The reason for that as we said in the previous announcement is in general to UNITE everyone, so finally NON-VR players can play with VR players - faster updates, easier support, and so on.
So here is a short sum-up of how it worked. IF YOU HAD THIS > YOU GET THIS:
Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR > Ultimate Fishing Simulator + VR DLC
Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR: Moraine Lake DLC > Ultimate Fishing Simulator: Moraine Lake DLC

We just released an update to the game which detects if you played the Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR. IF you did and you have saves you can MIGRATE them to the Ultimate Fishing Simulator game.
Important: Migrating will OVERRIDE your existing saves from the UFS NON-VR game, so choose wisely! If you don't want to decide now and do that later, you can do this by using our external windows (.bat) script file available > HERE <

Length-Weight Relationship 3.0 (LWR)
Hello everyone,
as you can read above we just implemented a new LWR for Florida fish species that is as true to real life as possible. We received a lot of information regarding fish not having proper weight or length, or their look (scale) not being properly related to other weights.
So we took a little investigation into the system, tested a few different things, how the scale works, and created a few kaiju-sized monsters...
In the end, we discovered that some additional factors influenced the fish scale and weight. After a short discussion, we decided to make huge modifications to this system, and right now each fish in Florida has an individual correlation to length and weight. That means each fish from Florida right now has a different mass gain in kilograms [lb] per centimeter [ft]. Moving further, we all know that if in real life you catch 10 fish and hypothetically each of them is 60 cm in length, each one of them would have a different weight.
So, we also implemented this in LWR 3.0. That means every fish in specific weight can vary in weight in range from 0.9 to 1.05. To show that more in numbers, let's give you an example.
Blacksea Bass | Length 30 cm | Randomizer: Off
The LWR 3.0 will tell us that the weight for 30cm Blacksea Bass should be 0.52 kg.
And here comes the randomizer. Who likes to catch 30cm fish, with 0.52kg weight whole the time? Randomizer allows to generation of fish that are wary in weight.

Fish weight range: 0,468 - 0.546 kg
The bigger the fish, the wider "range" will be. But you get the point I hope!
Is this available for all fish? If NO. why?
This is now only available for fish listed in the changelog. It's due to a lot of data that we need to prepare and count. For Florida, we simply created the LWR charts but the game didn't calculate it properly which caused so many issues with Tiger Shark. But - don't worry.
We will implement this system to all 136 fish species in the Ultimate Fishing Simulator.
Once again, we would like to thank you for your feedback, support, and time to tell us what is in your opinion not working properly. Sometimes fixes are easy and sometimes we need to dig deep and do proper research but in the end - we hope you are happy with the final results.
Ah, also - in terms of "scale". While researching it we found that there are a few other things in the game "out of scale" that we will fix one by one in the future. We will let you know what & when will be changed shortly! :)

First of all, we would like to thank you all for your feedback and for reporting many issues that allowed us to fix them - it is always a pleasure to find & kill "bugs" when we know where to search them :)
But going to merit. We would like to tell you that BIG fish have a LOW chance of spawning close to the shore / starting location. If you would like to go on a "hunt" you need to take a boat :)

And for comparison here, you can see Betty Lake:
The reason why Florida feels so empty is simple - the map is huge. I mean, literally, it's the biggest map in the game - over 50x bigger than Betty Lake. So if we would put the same amount of fish on Florida that is on Betty Lake or any other map, even Pinas Bay Ocean - it would feel EMPTY. Here is a small comparison.
BUT WHY WON'T YOU DEVELOPERS JUST ADD MILLIONS OF FISH? It would just kill game performance at this stage. Ultimate Fishing Simulator is a pretty old game, done on Unity 2017 - and updating the game on this version is just a developer nightmare (hands up - who can confirm).
So with this in mind we need to find the BEST possible situation for you - Players. Waters need to feel populated, just full of life, and at the same time - run well on low-end PCs, etc. So it's a really hard task but we won't say "Yeah Guys, nothing happened".
We made a lot of mess with this one, but from good thing is - that we had a few "night runs" and we developed for example new spawn system for Florida, which can be used on other maps :)
So what's next?
We are here for you. We will continue reading your feedback, especially regarding Florida so this map can reveal its full potential (RIP tic-tac multiplayer -.-). So if you have any thoughts, tips, feedback, bug reports, or just want to drop your angry, mad message - just do it. We read all of it and try to improve the game.
So I think that's all :) Download the update and let us know if there is anything else not working, or maybe if some fish like Blackfin Tuna can't be caught ːsteamsadː

Issues we are aware of right now:
The big "catchable" area of Florida requires more fish spawn points without dropping the performance and making loading times longer. This one is a complex task but we have an idea for it right now.

Hook prompt should have few options, so everyone can pick what they can
Important note about Hook Prompt
Hook prompt information has 3 states:
Hook is too small
Hook is too big
Hook is proper
The "check" for hook/lure size is only in a radius of 50m. That means, the system is checking only fish 50m from the hook/lure:
But besides hook size/lure size, you need to remember that each lure and bait attracts different fish. So if no fish meets hook/lure requirements, you will get the "user" smaller/bigger hook prompt but besides the hook/lure size, there is also a BAIT/LURE type.
So if you are using for example a float with a big hook ex. #5/0 In the starting location, you will get a prompt about using smaller hooks as fish in that area, are not mostly not attracted by live bait or cutbait.
So you need to remember about picking proper bait for the area you are fishing. Big fish are spawned in 95% of areas accessible only by boat.

Great barracuda
The Great Barracuda, the largest in the Sphyraena family, grows up to 2 meters and weighs as much as 50 kg. This formidable predator is known for its lightning-fast speed, capable of reaching bursts of 35 km/h (22 mph) when hunting. With sharp, fang-like teeth and a sleek body, it strikes with precision, making it a respected and somewhat feared figure in tropical and subtropical waters.
Red lionfish
The Red Lionfish, a species known for its striking appearance, can grow up to 45.7 cm in length and weigh as much as 1.4 kg. This fish, easily identifiable by its bold red and white stripes and an array of venomous spines, is not just a visual marvel but also an ecological concern. Originally from the Indo-Pacific region, the Red Lionfish has become an invasive species in other parts of the world, notably in the Atlantic, where its voracious appetite and lack of natural predators have significantly impacted local marine ecosystems.

An ancient species, swimming in our oceans since prehistoric times. This majestic fish, often growing to impressive sizes, has adapted unique survival techniques over the millennia. One of their most remarkable abilities is to gulp air directly from the surface in environments with low oxygen levels. This adaptation allows them to thrive in a variety of aquatic habitats, from shallow bays to open seas. The tarpon's longevity and resilience reflect its enduring presence in the marine ecosystem, making it a living link to the ocean's distant past.
Atlantic goliath grouper
These colossal fish have an intriguing life cycle – some of them change sex from female to male as they age. In their early stages, young groupers face threats from other marine predators, but adult groupers' only significant threat comes from humans. The massive size of these groupers, reaching weights up to 400 kg – equivalent to about five adult humans – makes them one of the most awe-inspiring sights in the ocean.

Game Withdrawal: On January 19, 2024, "Ultimate Fishing Simulator VR" (1137540) will be removed from sale with all DLCs. This means you won't be able to buy it after this date, and it won't get any more updates.
Free Conversion for Everyone: EVERY PLAYER will get a FREE upgrade to the NON-VR version of the game: "Ultimate Fishing Simulator" (Steam ID: 468920), including the free VR DLC (Steam ID: 1137540).
DLC Conversion: Also, any DLCs you've bought for the VR version? Don't worry – they'll all be converted to the NON-VR version at no extra cost.
Remember UFS NON-VR + VR DLC will work the same as the VR standalone app with this difference that all players will be able to play together.
You probably have some questions.
We decided to take this step to provide everyone same updates and finally remove the gap between UFS VR and the NON-VR version. So in short:
All players will be finally able to play together, with no more restrictions.
Faster updates for VR (no more waiting for an update, when non-vr players already have it)
Shorter & easier work over new features, faster builds
Access to the new version of UFS once it is released
What about your progress/saves?
We will prepare a special .bat script that everyone who would like to transfer their saves from the VR app to the NON-VR app. You will just need to run it and it will automatically copy all files to the proper folder, so all your saves should be transferred without any loss! :)
What about the upcoming Florida DLC?
If you buy it for VR, you will get a free conversion to non-VR version.

Adjusted the caustics in the water, making them stronger and adding a rainbow effect at the edges.

KNOWN ISSUES
Spawning at checkpoint 2 in Zeno may result in the player being placed under the ground.
The giant barb placement in hands in Japan is incorrect, similar to the old Taupo bug.
Walking on boats can result in a very jittery movement.
The bluegill swimming animation appears stiff and the distortion problem has not been resolved.
Occasionally, the lure/bait may jitter inside the mouth of a fish after being caught (somewhat rare).

Taupo Lake
So most of you will think it's just "another" DLC but it's not! But first things first - Taupo Lake DLC is out now and you can get it with -a 25% discount for the first 7 days (in bundle probably an even higher discount). Taupo Lake VR DLC will be released a bit later but VR should work on Taupo good (need to be tested).

This DLC is a bit different from than previous ones. We implemented new fish species and new 3D models for old fish species (ex. Rainbow trout, Koi Carp).
As we didn't want to mess with the whole game - new models are available SO FAR only at Taupo Lake.
On Taupo, there is also a new boat with boosted speed so you should be able to roam faster around the map.
