Release 1.11.1

sheepChat 1.11.0 and 1.11.1 Update

A major sheepChat 1.11.0 update has been released, followed by the 1.11.1 hotfix.

We did not publish a separate announcement for version 1.11.0, so this post includes the changes from both versions.

1.11.0 — major update after 1.10.0

This version expands event support across multiple platforms, adds more flexible alert text customization, introduces third-party emote support, improves chat and OBS widgets, makes repeated launches faster, and fixes many stability issues.

1.11.1 — fixes after 1.11.0

This version fixes issues found after the 1.11.0 release: the OBS chat widget is stable again, compatibility with older OBS versions has been improved, duplicated TikTok messages and events have been fixed, and the word filter no longer breaks emojis, images, or links.

------------------------------------------------------------

Main changes in 1.11.0

------------------------------------------------------------

Message deletion synchronization

When a moderator deletes a message, bans a viewer, or times them out directly on the platform, this is now reflected both in the sheepChat chat window and in the OBS widget.

Supported platforms: Twitch, Kick, YouTube, VK Live, VK Video, and GoodGame.

Previously, messages deleted by moderators could remain visible on screen and appear on stream.

More events from different platforms

We added and unified more event types:

- subscriptions;

- gift subscriptions;

- Twitch bits;

- TikTok gifts and gift streaks;

- TikTok reposts;

- raids;

- YouTube memberships and gifted memberships;

- pinned messages;

- chat mode changes;

- bans, timeouts, unbans, and chat clears;

- moderator announcements;

- platform system and informational messages.

These events can now be handled and customized much more flexibly.

Customizable event texts

The text of almost any event can now be customized to match your own style.

Previously, some events used fixed text and could not be properly changed. Now you can set your own templates for subscriptions, gifts, bits, raids, memberships, moderation events, pinned messages, chat modes, and other events.

For example, you can use different text for a single gift, multiple gifts, a new membership, a renewed membership, a timeout with duration, and other cases.

Advanced event text customization is available in the premium version.

Separate event toggles

Each channel now has separate toggles for specific event types.

For example, you can disable ban and timeout messages, hide chat mode changes, or turn off TikTok gift streak messages while keeping regular gifts enabled.

There is also a separate toggle for synchronizing message deletions from the platform.

7TV, FFZ, and BetterTTV support

Added support for third-party emotes from 7TV, FrankerFaceZ, and BetterTTV.

Emotes are loaded automatically from connected Twitch and YouTube channels. No account login is required.

Animated emotes and FFZ/BTTV viewer badges are also supported.

------------------------------------------------------------

Chat, emojis, avatars, and themes

------------------------------------------------------------

Emoji rendering has been fully reworked.

Complex emojis with skin tones, combined emojis, and country flags no longer split into separate parts or turn into missing-symbol squares.

Twitch avatars have been fixed after platform-side changes caused them to stop loading.

Avatars now display more neatly in both the chat window and the OBS widget. An option to disable avatars has also been added.

User-selected sounds, images, custom emotes, and chat backgrounds are now stored more reliably.

Previously, the app could store only the path to the selected file. If the file was moved, renamed, or deleted, it disappeared from sheepChat. Now selected content is copied into the app.

Built-in themes have also been reworked, a full New Year theme has been added, and holiday decorations now work more reliably.

------------------------------------------------------------

History, text-to-speech, and scrolling

------------------------------------------------------------

Chat history is no longer spoken again and no longer triggers a burst of notifications when connecting.

Previously, after reconnecting, text-to-speech could start reading old messages, while the system could also show notifications for already existing chat history.

Now old messages appear silently: they are visible in the chat window, but they are not spoken and do not create duplicate notifications.

Chat scrolling is now more stable.

When you scroll up to read older messages, new messages no longer reset your position or make the chat jump.

The chat also handles heavy message flow better and is less likely to freeze during active streams.

Text-to-speech is now more reliable: interrupting speech and moving to the next message works faster, and the speech language no longer gets stuck on English for symbols, emojis, and link labels.

------------------------------------------------------------

OBS widgets

------------------------------------------------------------

OBS chat and event widgets have been improved.

Gift alerts are now more accurate: recipients, gift amounts, names, and TikTok virtual gift multipliers are handled better.

The event feed now shows bans, unbans, timeouts, and chat clears as separate events.

Channel status indicators have been fixed.

Deleting a message by double-clicking it in the widget has also been fixed.

------------------------------------------------------------

Account, premium, and login

------------------------------------------------------------

Premium now applies immediately, without restarting the app.

If you purchase premium or your Steam ownership status changes, premium features are enabled directly in the current session.

Premium should no longer reset because of temporary connection issues or an unavailable verification service.

The app also remembers login status more reliably and is less sensitive to minor hardware or system changes.

If the hardware really has changed and login needs to be confirmed again, the app will show a clear explanation.

The website login window with code entry has been updated.

A new “Profile” section has been added to settings, where you can manage your account, choose the startup login method, and view the license agreement.

------------------------------------------------------------

Launch speed, network, and stability

------------------------------------------------------------

Repeated app launches are now noticeably faster.

Previously, every start fully cleared the internal cache of platform pages, so connections could take time to warm up again.

Now the cache is preserved between launches and is cleared automatically only when updating to a new version.

Connections are now more stable in complex network conditions, including when using VPNs, proxies, and third-party network clients.

A new experimental “Disable HTTP/2” setting has been added.

It may help if connections are unstable because of network conditions or third-party network software.

This setting is disabled by default. It should only be enabled if you are experiencing connection issues. Restarting the app is required after changing it.

Memory and resource leaks in long sessions have also been fixed, reconnection stability has been improved, and the app now handles system sleep recovery better.

------------------------------------------------------------

Platform fixes and improvements

------------------------------------------------------------

YouTube

Added events for paid channel memberships and gifted memberships.

TikTok

Added subscriptions, gifts, reposts, and gift streaks.

A separate toggle for gift streak messages has also been added in case the “×N” message flow gets in the way.

Twitch

Added and improved events for subscriptions, gifts, bits, chat modes, moderation, and announcements.

Kick

Added subscriptions, raids, gifts, pinned messages, chat modes, and moderation events.

VK

Fixed channel connection for names containing hyphens, such as kolos-23 or marik-lelik.

DonatePay

Fixed double donation counting and duplicated donation amounts after reconnecting.

Events and connections have also been improved for Douyu, GoodGame, Picarto, and other platforms.

------------------------------------------------------------

What was fixed in 1.11.1

------------------------------------------------------------

Stable OBS widget connection

After 1.11.0, some users could experience the OBS chat widget repeatedly reconnecting or getting stuck on the connection lost message.

This has been fixed in 1.11.1. The connection now remains stable.

Compatibility with older OBS versions

On some older OBS versions, the chat widget could fail to launch completely.

It should now display correctly again.

Fixed duplicated TikTok messages

If the same TikTok channel was added in different formats — as a link, with @, without @, or using different letter casing — it could connect more than once.

Because of this, messages, gifts, and other events could be duplicated.

These duplicates are now detected and removed, and extra background connections no longer remain after reconnecting.

The word filter no longer breaks emojis, images, and previews

If replacements were configured in the word filter, the filter could accidentally modify parts of emoji, image, or preview links.

Because of this, emojis and images could turn into broken text fragments.

The filter now affects only visible words in messages and no longer breaks emojis, images, or links.

Text-to-speech also no longer reads YouTube emoji service links out loud.
