This latest update addresses two issues.
- "Star Missing from Database" - I was able to isolate this problem, and add some code that prevents the game from writing incorrect information into the database files. The actual bug is not gone, but I have basically disabled it, and you should not see the "star missing" error any more on new games. If you had this issue before, the patch will unfortunately not be able to fix existing database problems.
- "Invalid Pointer" - Based on user feedback I was able to isolate a potential cause for this problem. However, I don't have enough information to be sure that the problem is actually gone. If it continues to show up, please let me know. This fix is a sort of shot in the dark, so we'll see what happens.
