Once again the "Testing" version of Star Explorers has been updated. It includes the following:
- New Warning Message - when entering a star's gravity well, a warning message will flash on and off when you are flying the spaceship
- New Alarm - in addition to the flashing message, and alarm will sound. Both will remain on until you are able to exit the star's gravity well, or your ship crashes into the star.
- Selecting Planets and Stars - you can no longer select planets or stars that appear behind a star you are close to. This should prevent the spaceship from crashing into a star while warping or attempting to orbit a planet. Note, it can still crash if the planet is moving behind the star during the approach - I am working on a way to prevent this.
- Crashing while Warping - if you do choose to warp to a star, by selecting the warp option in the star chart, and if that star happens to be behind a nearby star, you will no longer crash into it. Warping creates a pocket outside of space time, so you should not have to worry about crashing into physical objects while warping.
I will do some more testing tomorrow. If I do not encounter any errors, I plan to update the changes to the default version of Star Explorers.
