This update addresses the problems player(s) were having with the storage locker and blueprints.
Blueprints were somehow getting assigned incorrect materials, and more importantly, were not recognizing the materials the player had in-stock.
I was able to reproduce this issue when I began placing different blueprints into the storage locker. I found three different script errors that may have been contributing factors in this error.
The first was a problem with slot ten (10) of the storage locker. It was not properly checking if the slot was already occupied, so it sometimes allowed new items to be placed on top of existing items. This could have caused items to be assinged incorrect variables, and may have caused the issue.
Another problem was in the materials script itself. Material slot #2 of a blueprint was in some cases assigned the wrong type.
Finally, there was a long standing issue in which the player, when selecting an item, might accidentally select an item that was already traded or placed into a cache. This happened if the mouse cursor did not fall close enough to the center of the inventory icon. This resulted in strange things like being able to take more than one of the same item out of a cache, or being able to sell more than one of the same item to a trader, even after the item was sold and removed from the inventory. It's hard to explain why this was happening, but essentially the item's variables were still stored in memory, and the new item being selected was not actually selected properly, so the old item's statistics would show up in the detail panel.
Anyway, all these issues have been addressed in this latest update, and they should not be causing any more trouble. After fixing the last issue, I was unable to reproduce the materials glitch with blueprints. I hope this means the issue is gone.
Star Explorers is becoming more stable every day. I hope to continue this trend until it's planned full release in May. Your feedback is always welcome, and enormously helpful in my efforts to complete and refine this project!
I am feeling much more confident that the Beta version is more stable than the default version. I may make a couple more updates, but I plan to update the default version of Star Explorers in the next couple weeks or so.
