This update is for the reviews that said the app made a weaker PC struggle, and for everyone fine-tuning the new overlay nudge. Both deserved real engineering, not a settings shuffle — so we measured everything.
NEW: Eco mode. One checkbox under Options for weaker PCs: it switches OCR to the speed tier, keeps background restoration on standard, and stops the app from re-translating a busy screen more than once every 0.7 seconds. On our stress scene it cut the app's GPU load by 83 percent and CPU load by more than half, with the first translation arriving just as fast as before. While eco mode is on it overrides your individual quality settings — that is the point of a one-click switch — and turning it off restores them untouched. One honest note: a reviewer asked for a CPU/GPU percentage slider, and we could not build that — a single recognition pass cannot be split across processors — so this is our answer instead: choose where the work runs, and how often it runs.
NEW: Nudged translations lost their backdrop. When you shift the overlay away from the original text, the translation used to carry a colored box that made no sense in its new spot. Now, whenever the nudge is active, translations render as clean outlined text with no box at all — readable on dark and bright scenes alike — while the original stays visible where it was. With the nudge at zero, rendering is exactly as before.
NEW: The nudge preview now tells the truth. The little preview next to the X and Y fields now uses your real screen resolution and your actual selected region, so the proportions match reality. Better still, while you adjust the values, two ghost frames appear briefly on the actual screen — one where the text is, one where the translation will go — at real size, in real coordinates. What you see is what you get.
NEW: The translation panel can show translations only. If original-and-translation pairs feel cluttered — busy gacha-style interfaces were the example that convinced us — a new switch under Settings, Display hides the original lines and keeps just the translations. Pairs remain the default.
