Three changes this time: a permanent fix for settings being reset by updates, support for LM Studio and Ollama running on another PC in your home network, and better logs so we can diagnose reports faster.
FIXED: Settings are no longer stored inside the game folder. A packaging mistake in v1.29 could cause Steam updates to overwrite your settings with defaults; some of you hit this more than once, and we are sorry. From this version, settings, caches, logs and your glossary edits live under your Windows user profile (%LOCALAPPDATA%\GameTranslator), where Steam never touches them. Your current settings are carried over automatically on first launch; nothing to do on your side. Settings shows the new location under "About".
NEW: The LM Studio and Ollama engines can now connect to another PC on your local network. Enter the other machine's address in the new "Host" field in Settings (for example 192.168.1.20). For safety and to comply with Steam's policy on external AI services, only private network addresses are accepted (127.x, 10.x, 172.16-31.x, 192.168.x, .local); public internet addresses are rejected, and there is no API key field. When Ollama runs on a remote host, the app connects to it but does not install, start or download models there.
IMPROVED: The app now writes a clearer diagnostic trail to logs\app.log: session settings at startup, screen-capture failures and freezes, suspected exclusive-fullscreen games, streaks of frames with no readable text, and translation-engine errors. As before, the log never contains the text being translated. When you report a problem in the discussions, attaching this file helps a lot.
NOTE: Nothing changes in how translation works or performs in this version. The Intel NPU/GPU (OpenVINO) build remains on the "beta" branch.
