First, thank you all for the incredible amount of feedback you've been sharing. Every bug report, suggestion, and quality-of-life request has been helping shape Portalborn into a stronger game.
Over the past several days, many of these updates have focused on improving the underlying systems rather than simply fixing isolated issues. Whenever possible, I've been taking the opportunity to strengthen the architecture behind each feature so future additions can build on existing systems instead of requiring rewrites later.
With many of these foundational improvements now in place, I'm excited to start shifting more of my development time back toward what I've been looking forward to most: creating new content, expanding the world, and making Portalborn a richer place to explore.
Character Progression & Status
Reworked the permanent character modifier system so gameplay and the Status panel now share the same underlying calculations.
Permanent Gold Bonus now correctly reflects title bonuses.
Improved consistency between permanent character bonuses and what is displayed in the Status panel.
Fixed a compatibility issue affecting the Legendary Riftwalker title's Free Recall benefit.
Continued building the foundation for future progression systems, additional title effects, and upcoming Ascension features.
Equipment Improvements
Equipment no longer needs to be unequipped before being improved.
Alchemy upgrades can now be applied directly to equipped gear.
Portal Extract imprints can now be applied directly to equipped gear.
Grand Enchanter enhancements can now be applied directly to equipped gear.
Equipped items remain equipped throughout the process.
Equipment selection now clearly identifies whether an item is currently equipped or in your backpack.
Fully supported in both English and Simplified Chinese.
Interface Improvements
Added independent scrolling to the Active Buffs panel.
Added independent scrolling to the Quest Journal panel.
These sections now scroll independently while preserving the existing sidebar behavior, making long buff lists and quest logs much easier to navigate.
Quality of Life
Temporarily removed the repeated Relic Seeker achievement announcements that could spam the terminal when opening multiple high-tier rewards.
All Relic Seeker tracking and statistics remain fully functional. The notification system will receive a more complete redesign in a future update.
Thank you again for continuing to help improve Portalborn. The game is reaching a point where many of the major quality-of-life concerns and foundational systems have been significantly strengthened, which means I can begin spending more time on what comes next: expanding the world with new adventures, deeper exploration, memorable quests, and more content to discover. I can't wait to start sharing that journey with all of you.
