TTT Classic Update

This update's headline feature is LAN Party Mode, a new server option built for players who are physically in the same room together, where the usual on-screen role-hiding doesn't work because everyone can just look at each other. It hides role colors, names, and the round-start reveal popup, replaces the equipment/C4/radio menus with fully automatic traitor behavior, and adds a private reveal key so you can double-check your own role without giving anything away to the room.

Waiting for players got several updates: traitor and detective equipment now spawns from the normal random weapon spawners while the round hasn't started yet, dropped weapons and ammo despawn after 30 seconds instead of littering the map, and item spawners reliably respawn 30 seconds after their item is picked up.

Also added: proximity-based Text Chat falloff (public chat gets harder to read as the distance between speaker and reader grows, mirroring how voice chat already works), custom vehicle/train sounds for mappers, and a good number of spectator, audio, and workshop bug fixes.

LAN Party Mode

• Added the ttt_lan_party_mode server option, for games where all players are physically in the same room and normal role-hiding doesn't work.
• Hides role colors and names (Innocents and Traitors both show as "Hidden") and the round-start reveal popup. Hold the new reveal key to privately check your own role, color, and the haste timer for as long as it's held. Detectives are unaffected, since their role is already public.
• Traitors automatically receive random equipment, and are told via chat what they got. C4 is auto-armed and placed Radios auto-trigger themselves. Traitor-exclusive weapon viewmodels are hidden. The equipment, C4, and radio menus are disabled, since none of it needs to be configured by hand anymore.
• Disables the Credits HUD for traitors, since equipment is spent automatically.
• Disables all role voice chat (traitor and detective). Holding the traitor-voice key doubles as the reveal key.
• Adds a traitor-only ping and a traitor-only quick-chat radio menu, so traitors can still coordinate silently in-game.
• Disables the dead-traitor reveal vote and admin force-reveal entirely, since traitors physically in the room must never be revealed to spectating/dead players.
• Voice chat tutorials are skipped, since they don't apply.
• Adds an help dialog (show with F3 by default) explaining the mode.

Gameplay & Mechanics

Waiting for Players

• Traitor and detective equipment now spawns from random weapon spawners while waiting for players.
• Dropped weapons and ammo now despawn after 30 seconds while waiting for players, instead of piling up.
• Fixed item spawners not respawning exactly 30 seconds after their item was picked up during the waiting phase.
• Anyone can now use traitor buttons while waiting for players, not just traitors.
• Fixed carried corpses not being removed on schedule while waiting for players.

Text Chat

• Added Text Chat falloff: local/public chat messages become progressively harder to read the further away the reader is from the speaker, matching how voice chat already fades with distance. Team chat and dead/living chat are never affected. Configurable/disableable via ttt_text_chat_falloff and related cvars, see the settings guide for details.

Traitors

• Increased the backstab cone from 60° to 90°, making backstabs easier to land from the side.
• The dead-traitor vote to reveal all traitors' identities to spectators/dead players now needs half of the currently dead traitors (recalculated as traitors die) rather than half of the round's total traitors, making the vote reachable sooner.

Workshop

• Workshop items are now enabled by default when subscribed.
• Added thumbs-up/thumbs-down rating buttons to the Workshop browser.

Visuals & UI

• The "Force Restart" checkbox in the create-server dialog is hidden if you're not hosting a server.
• Added a minimum crosshair size so it can't be made too small while laser sight or ADS is active.

Map Maker & Entity Updates

• func_tracktrain / func_vehicle: Added support for custom vehicle/train sounds.
• ttt_random_weapon / ttt_random_ammo: Removed the separate ammo spawn-count limits. Ammo spawns now rely solely on the existing PVS visibility check to decide whether to spawn an ammo pickup.
• monstermaker: Now correctly respawns weapons/ammo it spawned once the item has been picked up.
• Fixed a crash when parenting certain brush entities to another entity.
• Fixed several sprites missing from the TrenchBroom FGD.

Maps

• Updated ttt_shhh.

Technical & Bug Fixes

Spectators:

• Fixed spectator state getting lost between round restarts.
• Now switches to the next-closest player when the currently spectated player disconnects.
• env_sound is never applied to spectators/dead players, and is always cleared when switching to spectator.
• Voice DSP effects are no longer applied to dead players or spectators.
• Fixed spectators not receiving some game events.
• Fixed the karma round-start popup being shown to spectators.
• Fixed spectators seeing the haste-mode timer on later rounds after traitors had been revealed in a previous round.
• Fixed traitor buttons appearing in the Overview maps

Combat:

• Fixed ADS not instantly capping movement speed when entering it while already moving.
• Tripmine beams are now checked every server frame, fixing missed detections.
• Grenades are no longer dropped on the ground if the player throwing them dies mid-throw.
• Fixed grenades incorrectly carrying over their "already detonated" state into the next round.
• Fixed C4 not damaging brush entities (breakables, buttons, etc.) through walls.
• Tripmines blocking a door are now blown up instead of just reversing the door.
• Fixed flaregun not igniting players during "Waiting for Players".

Admin & Cheats:

• Added ttt_reveal_traitors_admins, to privately reveal the traitors to spectating admins only, without notifying anyone else.
• Added a ttt_godmode cheat command to toggle invincibility.

Audio:

• Underwater voice DSP is now applied whenever either the speaker or the listener is underwater (including for first-person spectators, but not free-look spectators).

Workshop:

• Fixed stale addon IDs by refreshing them every time addons are downloaded on a server.
• Dedicated servers now redownload workshop addons on mapchange, instead of only on restart.

Other:

• Fixed the laser sight crosshair adjustment not resetting on map change.
• Fixed percentage settings not saving correctly when edited via the textbox.
• Prevented player names made up of only Unicode combining marks.
• Dedicated servers no longer ship a fixed mapcycle.txt. A default one is auto-created on first launch instead, so it's no longer overwritten by updates.
• Fixed breakables, rotating buttons, and traitor testers sometimes keeping leftover motion or state after a round reset.
• Fixed things like the health station getting stuck bouncing forever or falling through the world.
• Fixed scores and deaths not updating properly in the scoreboard.
• Fixed Innocent awards being given to Traitors.

Documentation

• Reorganized the entity menu documentation into a broader entity-editing guide.
• Moved the func_ladder entry into its correct section in the mapping guide.
• Updated the workshop guide.
