I'm super happy to announce that Miuratale is now feature complete! The main story, core features, combat system, boss fights, and cutscenes are all in a state that is acceptable for the Early Access launch this 29th!
Some things are more complete than others, cutscenes will be receiving a final draft pass, NPC's are bare bones, the combat system will need tweaks and rebalances... Some enemies are too hard, some are too easy, so-on, but in general the game is fully completable and I clocked in a completion time of 15 Hours in a no equipment, no item run!
I'm currently working on implementing fixes and improvements that I have gathered from alpha testers and the list is very long! This is my 2nd game and it is a huge jump up in challenge and scope, but one I really want to nail. I see Miuratale as the real start of my game development career and my plan is to continue to improve and expand upon it until the vision is fully realized.
My current plans, pre-release, are to implement gameplay improvements and bug-fixes, get a functioning website with the Early Access roadmap accessible to fans, get the soundtrack and SFX into the game, and to start replace the last few placeholders that are still in the game.
The plan for Early Access is to launch by the 29th, the game will go on sale for roughly 5$ USD on a major release discount, and after a few weeks will raise to roughly 10$ USD. When the Early Access is finished there will be a price increase to roughly 20$ USD, but this will include all future content, which includes the following :
2 Content packs that bring new quests, dungeons, improved designs, and challenges to the game
2 Minigame/Activity packs that bring fun new lore-expanding, optional gameplay to the world
2 Expansions that directly continue the story, with new bosses, new content, and new ways of experience the game's current content.
I'm expecting around a year of support to get the Early Access finished and to expand upon it with these updates.
The game may be complete, but there is still a lot of work to do! I do plan on taking a break once I get it out of Early Access, I need a vacation from my workspace and the constant grind... Until then, I'll be getting this thing ready!
