#Daybreak2026
So, Now that it's been announced, I'm going to talk about what's going on behind the scenes.
So, currently there's 3 members of the Dev Team, me [Squiffy] Included.
I have one new programmer, and one assistant to both me and that programmer.
These two people are new, but they're talented, and they're figuring out the ropes.
Currently, the previous team has fractured, and so far, I am the only one that has been here since 2022 continuously.
The previous build of the game will not be updated, as we're rebuilding the game from near scratch.
It was too bloated, too complicated, and too buggy.
Anyway, here's some common questions.
Why has this game taken so long?
Many Reasons, including my own mental health, and the fact that the dev team has gotten up to at least 5+ members 3 times, and fractured all three times afterward.
People have gone out of their way to try to ruin this game, several times.
Some People have also tried to ruin my life several times.
Yet, I still try to make this game, regardless of how shitty the SCP community is, how careless people are, or how shitty some people decide to be.
What is in the New Build of the game?
Literally nothing right now.
Not even a map.
There's a basic character, fragments of the past build copied over, and the lighting systems.
...at least it's stable, and a Clean slate.
Making a Free SCP game is so difficult for no reason. It's harder then you would assume.
What do you [Squiffy] mainly do?
Well, I'm mainly good at atmospherics and VFX.
I do everything that's required in a video game except for coding and modeling.
you can see why that's a issue.
Anyway, small progress, and tons of discussion behind the scenes.
Might have something stable soon, working on blocking out the starting part of the map.
