Support for Linux added and new Historical campaigns.
Gameplay
Our designers have been hard at work crafting the new historical scenarios!
- New Historical Campaigns menu added
- New Gallic Wars campaign begun
- A first historical scenario, the Helvetii Migration can now be playtested, with more scenarios underway.
- New tile type Mountains introduced, which cannot be worked for food, and is not traversable.
- Units, armies and Settlements now gain additional light of sight if situated on a tile which has a higher elevation than the surrounding tiles. This is only granted while the unit is stationary.
- Floods now deal damage over time to units and armies on affected tiles.
- Forts now grant protection against bad weather damage-over-time effects from Floods.
- Ranged units now do initial pre-emptive strikes in certain battles. If defending from a Fort or a Settlement with Defensive improvements, more pre-emptive strikes are launched, increasing defensive capabilities.
- New Game speed setting added for event: Borders transgressed.
- Units now have built-in pathfinding retry logic, where they will try to find new paths a few times if they encounter water or other untraversable tiles.

Graphics
- New Mountain graphics for the new Mountain tiles.
- New Cliffs placeholders added to visualize the steep tile transitions which can not be traversed by units due to the steep incline. Models and textures, as well as placement will be improved shortly.
- Fog of war texture resolution increased, resulting in more tight-fitting and less blurry fog of war rendering
- Fixed shading issue when rendering rivers at some angles
- Volcano and lava rocks textures updated
- Arrow animations added when ranged units are doing their strikes
- New Fire smoke particle effects added, shown when fighting Forts or Settlements.
- New Roman letters added to visualize where Prospectors will head next.
- Storms and Floods now render clouds above them
- Adjusted Rain particles color, quantity, transparency.
- Trees are now rendered smaller but with higher quantities on the map, giving a more foresty-feel than before.
- Bloom and Emissive maps support added

Technical
- Build systems set up for automated builds and testing, to increase quality of all builds.
- We have ported the game and game engine to Linux! It is built using the Steam Linux Runtime 3.0 (sniper) and should run on most distributions. We have so far verified it on Debian 13 (trixie).
- A new system has been added for customizing Campaigns covering multiple scenarios. This could be made available to map creators/modders later on.
- Preloading of assets added to the new Loading Screen, to reduce occasional lag when in the scenarios.
- Automatic screen resolution density detection added to auto-scale UI to support wider range of high resolution monitors.
- Support for custom shaders on individual UI elements added
Multiplayer
Implemented syncing of:
- Diplomatic requests, sending and responding to treaties.
- Bad Weathers, including Storms, Droughts, Floods
- News of defeated nations should now reach players appropriately, including updated visuals in the Diplomacy menu.
- Pause panel showing player pause status added on the right side.
- Can preview the selected map now, similar to singleplayer Custom map
- Can now configure starting Population and Taxes in the lobby.
Input
Improved UI and in-game navigation support when using Keyboard and Gamepad primary input methods. More improvements to come here as well!
User Interface
- Several new tooltips added, particularly noticable when using Gamepad or Keyboard-only UI navigation.
- Multiplayer Lobby settings localized.
- New Loading Screen added, with a progress bar and more historical quotes to get into the mood as assets are loading.
- Fortification level of fort which Army is garrisoned inside is now displayed in the Army stats panel.
- Diplomacy UI redesigned
- More UI animation highlights added for a few select buttons
- The Combat Panel now shows more info, such as each units attack, and how much HP of the adversary was taken.

Map Editor
- Fixed issues with Toggle Cinematic Mode action not hiding all relevant UI.
- In the Toggle Cinematic Mode action one can now specify a time of day for it to play, as game speed 1 and 2 will show daycycle lighting based on this.
- New Time limit victory condition added
- More Props added
- Can now have multiple props on the same tile, such as Ruins and Smoke
- Can now change color for each faction from a Dropdown in the Nation edit mode
- You can now click and drag a Settlement to move it in the editor
- You can now export and import your map to a custom text format. This can be used as an intermediary to create maps from heightmap data, for example.

- Player being able to see other settlement's garrisons
- Several crash issues
- Being able to flank Settlements.
