Hi everyone! We’re back again this month to show off some more of our progress as we work towards our big EA launch next year. This month we’re showing off some of our character portrait upgrades as well as a look at some of our expansive fish catalog 👀 Now onto the updates!
Of course, as always, things are still work in progress and subject to change between now and Early Access.
Character Portrait Updates
We’ve been working on some portrait updates, giving our characters a bit of a refreshed look.
Here you can see Aaron’s portrait that is currently in game…
And the new concept art. This isn't in game yet, but we do want to see how the community feels about it first, take in that feedback and will continue tweaking it!
One character update has changed a bit more than that though. I wonder who this could be 🤔
Dirk’s lander
In the past couple of updates, we’ve shown you some of our NPC landers. Today is Dirk’s turn! For some quick background, Dirk is our outpost veterinarian. They are educated, trained, and experienced in dealing with both biological and robo-animals, as well as a firm advocate of robo-animals as a humane alternative to slaughtering biological livestock.
Here’s a look at their lander both outside…
And in!
Fishing
Like any good farming sim nowadays, you gotta have your fishing! We’ve been working on including some pretty unique looking species for your catching pleasure. Take a look at some of the species we’ve created!
Discord AMA
As per our new monthly tradition, we did an AMA with our game director, Manu Floret, in our community Discord. Our curious community over there asked all kinds of questions about the game and we want to showcase some of those questions and answers as you may have those same questions!
Q: Are DLC’s planned?
A: Potentially! We want to see how things go during EA and our full launch first and then look at what we could make for DLCs. We do have some ideas rolling around though!
Q: How long will gameplay be in EA?
A: Currently to complete the first Act, which is what we will be launching into EA with, it’ll take around 10 hours to complete that section of the story. After that you can of course keep playing indefinitely. TBD the acts after that.
Q:Will there be pets?
A: Yes! There will be some little pets that will follow you around the planet. Though we may have them do more as EA goes along.
Q: Will you be able to customize your lander?
A: As of right now, no. This may change throughout EA or be something we do for DLC.
Q: Any big feasts or famine type events?
A: Not yet. Definitely a neat idea that we’d like to include but don’t have plans for it currently.
If you want to join in our next AMA, it will be occurring on Dec 23rd at 4pm ET. It’ll be our end of the year OLO Christmas present to you all 😄
