Hi everyone,
Today’s update will be a little shorter than usual - I had to travel a lot last week, and was unusually unproductive during my travels.
As a result, we also have not been able to do our developer gameplay yet - John has been pushing for us to do it almost every day, but considering that I had to scramble for every hour to work on the game, I decided to prioritise bug fixes for this week. My schedule for next week is also looking a lot less busy, so hopefully we will finally get around to doing the playthrough (together with regular development).
Speaking of bug fixes, I was able to fix a few things that were reported throughout the week, including some game-breaking issues, so I will update the game later tonight to bring those updates to everyone. Next week's update(s) should then finally include the key bindings I have been promising, which will wrap up the majority of the “post launch menu updates”. Following that, we can turn back to improving gameplay again, and I am especially excited to improve the pirates to the point where they are more dynamic and rewarding as opponents.
A good friend of mine has also been excited about the idea of getting more involved in the project, and has been learning blender for the past few months. Two weeks ago, he started to create little objects for the game under John’s supervision (for example the rolling pin and the bread peel in the bakery), and we are looking forward to him contributing more in the future.
Until next week!
