Merry Christmas! The first big update to Dinodrifters is here!
First of all, we are leaving Early Access on December 21st, so this version is the release version. I was going to wait to release it later, but I worked ahead of schedule and wanted to share it with you all.
I've finished Time Anomalies! They're a brand new feature that I have previously said would come in January, but I've moved it forward. I underestimated how quickly I would have it done, basically, so you get the release and January update in one! This version is called v.1.1.0 and will update automatically based on your Steam preferences.
v1.1.0 Changelog:
- Added Time Anomalies, portals through time that allow you and other animals to travel one-way between two different maps. When toggled at game start, an anomaly can only spawn when the player is an adult and has a 1% probability of doing so per turn. Anomalies will spawn an appropriate animal every 25 turns. A time anomaly has a 25% chance of disappearing when spawning an animal. Multiple anomalies can be active at any one time.
- Added Time Anomaly button to Free Mode selection screen. You must toggle this to play with Time Anomalies.
- Fixed save error when playing a scenario, where certain events didn't trigger.
- Fixed text alignment issues on certain game menus.
- Fixed spawning issue with terrestrial animals in the Ordovician.
- Removed Early Access text on Main Menu screen.
Now, bare in mind, that at the moment, I have no additional plans in January for Dinodrifters. This was done early, mostly because I have another game I want to work on (a free one that will come out in the coming months). I'm currently thinking, that I work on that in January and in February, I'll add a new region into Dinodrifters, with several dozen new dinosaurs!
More details on that will come after Christmas, though, in the post-Early Access news updates to come. There'll be no updates for a while until sometime in January as I take a Christmas break.
