Dinodrifters Early Access News - Week #3: Time Anomalies

Another week down and just one more to go until we leave Early Access! What a ride!

Today, I want to talk about an upcoming feature that will come in January, after we leave Early Access. I want to talk about Time Anomalies.

Anomalies are portals through time and space that connect two different regions to one another. Their appearance is strange. Maybe they are related to the travellers in time, the Dinodrifters, operating the Timegate in the Quaternary?

To put it simply, they will appear in Free Mode and allow you to travel from your starting region to a new one in another time. Think of it as a fresh start. Not enjoying playing a Velociraptor in the Flaming Cliffs? Maybe move to the region through the anomaly!

In addition to the player, Time Anomalies will allow creatures, based on its destination region, to travel from the other side and enter your time. Mammoths can appear in the Triassic, Tyrannosaurus in the Cambrian, Liopleurodon in the Devonian. Any combination you can think of will be possible!

Don't worry about the prehistorical context! This feature must be selected at a game's start to work. If you want a more accurate experience, then simply do not toggle it.

Even when toggled, they are rare. They won't appear often. Maybe once every two average games. However, it will be possible to have more than one at once. Things will be very crazy if that should happen!

Dinodrifters leaves Early Access on December 21st, 2019, with the first new content update coming later, in January.

May the Drift keep you safe!
