Hope you're all having a blast playing Dinodrifters!
This week, I want to talk specifically about leaving Early Access.
From the feedback I've received, no game-breaking or otherwise massive bugs have been found. Yay!
However, I have identified several pieces of code and some oddities that will be corrected next update. They're mostly little things, like text slightly misaligned in some screens, a slight change in saving mechanics, that sort of thing. Your old saves will work fine, though, don't worry! The advantage of making your own save system is that you can definitely say what will break it. This will not!
However, all that being said, I see no reason to stay in Early Access for much longer.
I did so because a release of this scale is so new to me that I felt I needed some leeway regarding possible bugs and whatnot. Well, that was overcautiousness on my part!
As a result, Dinodrifters will leave Early Access December 21st, 2019. On the same day, an update containing v1.1.0 of the game will be released, in answer to the affecting issues above.
Your game will replace the game with the new one, depending on your Steam settings, but if you want to keep the old version of the game, feel free to copy the game .exe from the Dinodrifters Steam file and keep it for your own personal use. I don't mind and it should work without Steam (no achievements or save cloud use though).
Well, that's it for this week, then! Have a great day, everyone!
May the Drift keep you safe!
