Hello there,
First of all, I would like to reiterate that if you have any ideas or feedback about Card Hog, then I'd love to hear it in the forums, Discord or via any channel you can reach me. Don't hesitate, I'm listening and always glad to find a few new Steam notifications in the morning (unless it's new game crash, but even that means I have something to work on). Really cool things (items, mechanics and card interactions) were already added to the game, because someone suggested them!
Secondly, I'm continuing to share keys to content creators and community managers! Pass this on to someone who might be interested in either playing Card Hog on their stream/channel or would like to do a small giveaway in their community/group.

And finally...
Coins
In the recent update I adjusted shops in Endless Crawl mode to only use in-run coins instead of global coins which players were saving up between the runs and I also removed coin cost from the character unlocks. Nobody complained yet, so I assume that was a correct step, since this made in-run coins and player choices much more important and I can do a lot more with that in the future. Forcing a choice between getting further in the run or keeping coins for the character unlock was not the right way to do it!
Thing is I didn't want to take away all the coins older players accumulated over time and now the game has worthless currency hanging in the corner and confuses new players.
So, my question is... what do you think should happen with those old coins? I don't believe they have place in Steam version of the game, so they will have to go away either way.
At the moment I only have few ideas:
- Simply remove them at a risk of upsetting few people
- Add a new progress system (XP?) and convert coins into that
Community suggestions
- Coin deposit/highscore system (Ahoron)
- New currency for permanent unlocks (SunlightWarri0r)
One is clearly easier than another, but having some kind of XP and ranks (maybe even with simple badges) would be pretty neat.
Let me know what you think about this!
P.s. if you haven't tried multiplayer modes in a while, I'd recommend to check them out again. There's some cool new stuff over there... But I'll probably post full changelog on Monday.
Cheers!
