How these counts are made
We include Steam-source catalogue records classified as games and not marked as coming soon. Known future release dates are excluded. DLC, demos, soundtracks and software are excluded.
A count is checked only when a successful review observation has a timestamp at or before the calculation time. A recorded zero belongs in the denominator; an unchecked default zero does not. We use the latest stored total for each game, with no review-history scan or live Steam request when this page loads. The calculation is cached for up to one hour.
The milestones describe recorded totals at this snapshot. They do not measure the time taken to reach a threshold, lifetime attainment, copies sold or revenue. Older counts can lag behind Steam’s current totals.
Release years use the supplied date in UTC, which can predate the game’s arrival on Steam. Unusable or missing dates are grouped as unknown. Younger cohorts have had less time to accumulate reviews, so these percentages alone do not establish whether newer games perform better or worse.
