Added a new Daily Tournament type (Anchor Down) which may be in the rotation in the future
Anchor Down Daily Tournament: You must anchor your BOAT at some point during the tournament. When you do this, all fish in your livewell will be released and you will not be able to move your BOAT for the rest of the tournament. The 8 largest valid fish in your livewell at the end of the tournament will be counted (provided you have anchored).
Updated the way that Single Column Mode on the Fish Journal panel works. It now allows you to freely adjust the number of entries you wish to see (up to the maximum) and the setting will not change based on the number of fish discovered or when changing lakes. If you have discovered fewer species than the set value, it will just show all species discovered, but will no longer override the setting.
Fixed a display bug with the lure status overlay that would cause its border to be drawn incorrectly when UI Scale was set to 200%

Added an Exploration Overlay which is an optional overlay that you can enable to show information relevant to the exploration process all in one place such as Lake Info, Exploration Data Value, Completeness Factor, and Ecosystem Analysis (if module is equipped).
Added an Overlay button to the Lake Data panel which opens a settings menu to allow enabling/disabling and customization of the Exploration Overlay
Added a new volume setting for Title Screen music that is separate from the Game Music setting
Added a new keybind and a new gamepad button option for Start Exploration Scan
Added a Line Resistance Audio Tone sound effect and volume settings to the Settings screen. This option will play an audio tone of variable pitch that mirrors the line resistance meter.
Added a Line Resistance Rumble option to Gamepad Controls. This option will enable rumble effects on the gamepad that mirror the line resistance meter.
Note that the Line Resistance Audio Tone and the Line Resistance Rumble options will not give you any more information than the line resistance meter does, they are just different ways of conveying that information
Added a new option to the Game Settings screen called “Info Progress Bars on Livewell Fish” which adds a small bar below the species name on all fish in the livewell that indicates the overall progress of the Species Info bar for that species (full info can be found in the Fish Journal panel). This bar will only show up on fish from the current lake and can make it a bit easier to decide which fish to dissect for more information.
Added mouseover/selection descriptions to all settings on Game Settings screen instead of just the Display/Performance section
Changed the layout of the Game Settings screen to better accommodate the new options and descriptions
Changed button text on Exploration Tools modules to be a bit more descriptive
Moved position of Raining/Snowing overlay text to avoid other overlays and fixed a bug where it could sometimes show up over top of open panels

With version 1.4, Intergalactic Fishing adds gamepad support! The game should be fully playable with just a compatible gamepad and you should also be able to seamlessly switch between using a gamepad and mouse/keyboard if you would like.
The update also adds a couple new modules and several quality-of-life improvements. The Ecosystem Analyzer module analyzes the local ecosystem to make predictions about the number of fish species living in the lake. There is also a new high-end Exploration Terminal module that includes the functionality of the Ecosystem Analyzer module. The Full Grown Size of a species is now reported as an exact weight rather than a weight class (like Huge, Big, etc.). These changes should make exploring and hunting for big fish a bit more intuitive.
Improvements have been made to the tutorial and help screens and more tooltips and alert messages have been added to help explain the game’s mechanics and controls a little better. And finally, the update includes many bug fixes and other improvements. You can see the full list of patch notes below.
P.S. In this update, a lot of under-the-hood changes were required to bring in gamepad support and other improvements, so if you run into any bugs (either while using gamepad or mouse/keyboard), please post them in the Steam Forums or let me know on Discord.
I hope you enjoy and good luck out on the lakes! - Ben

Added an Onscreen Keyboard for inputting text when using a gamepad
Added a preference to Gamepad Controls screen to enable/disable the Onscreen Keyboard
Added a preference to Gamepad Controls screen to reset cast position after each cast

Added two new modules which are both available at the TFG HQ Dock on The Conflux
The Ecosystem Analyzer module analyzes the local ecosystem to make predictions about the number of fish species living in the lake
The TFG Exploration Kit EE is an upgraded version of the TFG Exploration Kit 30a that includes the functionality of the Ecosystem Analyzer built-in
Both of these modules will allow you to determine when you have discovered all the species in an Unknown lake

Changed the first stage of the License Test (tutorial) to require the player to move the BOAT to a certain designated location instead of requiring them to move away from their current location. This should be more straightforward and will also allow the player to move around as much as they want before progressing so that they can get the hang of BOAT movement.
Updated and expanded several pieces of dialogue in the License Test to be more clear and descriptive and to better explain the resistance bar, dissecting fish and the fish journal, and some other concepts
Added some dialogue to the Mayor of Ankobo that will alert the player that they aren’t likely to catch many fish in Ankobo Lake. This dialogue will show up if the game detects the player is fishing at Ankobo Lake before starting the main quest. This will hopefully help to better explain to new players that they should move to other lakes in the ULT Network instead of staying in Ankobo Lake.
Added a new “Helpful Tips” entry to the Help panel that compiles some useful gameplay tips
Added a “Not right now” option to the final (repeatable) stage of the Gambling Gary random event so you can temporarily dismiss Gambling Gary if you aren’t in the mood to gamble without having him leave forever
If you had already permanently dismissed Gambling Gary, he will come back (whenever the random event is triggered next) and you will then have the option to bet with him, temporarily dismiss him, or permanently dismiss him
Updated the dialogue responses to make these three choices more clear
Added a new option in Settings to change the temperature scale (Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, and Rankine)
The color of the species text on the list of feeding activity schedules on the Time panel will now change to better indicate when a species is in a period of high feeding activity
Fixed inconsistent capitalization of some terms in dialogue and UI elements
Fixed a rare display bug related to the Travel panel
Fixed a crash that could occur when opening the Objectives panel
Fixed a bug where the License Test (tutorial) could get stuck in the transition between the intro and the dialogue
Made some mostly behind-the-scenes improvements to UI drawing
Proactively fixed an issue that could have caused minor issues with daily tournaments after the new year

Tournament Update
New Tournaments that take you to Unknown Lakes are now available after finishing the main quest. There are also new tournament types. The Daily Tournament will now have a different tournament type for every day of the week. You can find more details in the patch notes below.
Home Dock Fish Storage
You can now store fish at your Home Dock! You will start out with 5 storage slots and can buy additional slots. This can be used to store and show off your favorite fish and/or for temporary storage while working on an IFS challenge or a difficult side quest, etc.
Steam Trading Cards
Have you ever wanted to have your very own Gambling Gary trading card? Or show The Conflux as your Steam profile background? Or use a BOAT emoticon? Well today is your lucky day because Steam Trading Cards have been added to Intergalactic Fishing!
I've attached the full patch notes below. Thanks for playing and I hope you enjoy the new stuff I've added! - Ben
Added Tournaments that take place in Unknown Lakes
After completing the main quest, you will gain access to a new set of tournaments that take place at Unknown Lakes
These tournaments run in addition to the tournaments in Network Lakes so you will always have two different tournaments to choose from
Added two new tournament types (One of Each Species and Smallest Fish) for Unknown Lake Tournaments
There are now seven different types of tournaments used for the Daily Tournaments and a different one will be used each day of the week
The goal of these new tournament types is to add variety to the Daily Tournaments and to inspire new strategies
The initial schedule is as follows:
Monday: Free-for-All Tournament - The largest 8 fish in your livewell at the end of the tournament will be counted.
Tuesday: One of Each Species Tournament - The largest fish of each species in your livewell at the end of the tournament will be counted.
Wednesday: Conservation Tournament - The weight of each fish you catch will be added to your score. If you dissect a fish, twice the weight of the fish will be subtracted from your score. If you release a caught fish there is no penalty.
Thursday: Single Species Tournament - The 8 largest fish of the indicated species in your livewell at the end of the tournament will be counted.
Friday: Tag Tournament - Every fish in the lake is tagged with a certain point value. The value of the tag is based on several factors including how large a fish is for its species, the sell value of the fish, and other species factors relating to how difficult it is to find and catch. The 8 fish with the highest point values in your livewell at the end of the tournament will be counted.
Saturday: Smallest Fish Tournament - The 8 smallest fish in your livewell at the end of the tournament will be counted. If you have fewer than 8 fish, a penalty of 5 lb will be added for each one missing.
Sunday: Task Tournament - You will receive a series of fishing tasks to complete. After completing each task you will gain a point and receive a new task. Try to complete as many tasks as you can in the allotted time.
Updated design and layout of Tournaments and Daily Tournaments everywhere they are shown (Tournament screen, ULT Corp Dock screen, Objectives panel, etc.)
Added the ability to see the full details of yesterday’s Daily Tournament (instead of just the scoreboard)
Added Fish Storage to your Home Dock
You start with 5 slots available and can buy additional storage slots
This can be used to store and show off your favorite fish and/or for temporary storage while working on an IFS challenge or a difficult side quest, etc.
Tournaments no longer require an empty livewell to join, but you cannot join with any fish from the tournament lake in your livewell or on your line
Changed the preferred area of the Pitiltoo species from Deep Water to Shallow Water (this should prevent an unintended increase in difficulty for a certain side quest)
Minor updates to the AI of fish species whose preferred location is Near Surface
Other minor Fish AI adjustments
Fixed a rare crash that could occur when loading different saves many times during a single session
Improved wording of a main quest objective to be more clear and descriptive
You can now use ESC to leave the Equipment Shop
You can now use ESC to exit a completed conversation
Added a new type of BOAT nightvision called “Natural”. This setting will not change the color of the view but will instead limit the darkness to the level at which the nightvision kicks on. This is for anglers who like to fish at night with a more natural appearance and watch the fireflies and listen to the frogs.
Added info about changing the nightvision settings to the BOAT Safety Message alert
Fixed a text display issue on the Time panel
Minor graphical adjustments
Fixed bug where the number of tracked quests wouldn't update when selecting and deselecting quests on the Choose Quests screen
Added a message to the Quests panel that shows when you have no quests tracked, but have untracked quests that are active
Updated tutorial dialogue to mention the fact that you can store fish at your Home Dock
Updated main quest dialogue to reflect changes to the Tournament system
Updated Help entries for Tournament and Daily Tournament
Fixed a bug where the relative weight bar for a fish in the livewell would be prematurely revealed A list of patch notes from all updates can be found here:
