We have another update which has just been pushed to Steam. You should be able to download this right now for all our supported platforms!
The update includes the following:

Morphing World The world and water now change as achaem grows and gains strength! You will notice the planet changing throughout your gameplay.
Animation Instancing We've upgraded the Creeper model to use Animation Instancing, allowing us to support hundreds of enemies at once in future updates.
Adaptive Background Music We've updated the background music to be adaptive and more interesting.
New Sound and Particle Effects We've changed and added some of the sound and particle effects in game to improve the user experience! We have another update which has just been pushed to Steam. You should be able to download this right now for all our supported platforms!
The update includes the following:

3 by 3 world The world now generates in a 3 by 3 formation. Previously the world was generated with 5 tiles in a cross-shape, however player feedback showed this made it difficult to navigate.
Enemies drop coins. Previously you could only get coins from chests, random appearances on the map, and from the Tanker enemy. Coins are now also dropped from the Blaster and Rager enemies!
Larger world. Some of you made it to the edge of the world, where the water would eventually disappear! For now, a quick solve has been to double the size of the world. We hope this works out for now! The above changes may have introduced bugs, so please drop by the the Steam Discussion areas and leave your bug reports or any other feedback! We have another update which has just been pushed to Steam. You should be able to download this right now for all our supported platforms!
The update includes the following:

New Dialogue. Achaem will start communicating with you throughout your journey, asking you questions, and giving you advice.
New Weapons. As you level up, new weapons will become available at the station. Remember, once you buy a weapon once, it will only cost half the amount of coins next time!
New Shields. As you level up, new shields will become available at the station. The above rule about half-price items applies here too!
Fixed Linux Build. There were some issues with our Linux build which we've resolved in this update by moving to an automated build system. We hope this works out!

We have another update which has just been pushed to Steam. You should be able to download this right now for all our supported platforms!
The update includes the following:

Added Prologue Story (Intro). You can see this on every new save which hasn't viewed the trailer before, so your existing saves from before this update will play it just once! You can skip by pressing ESC to skip the dialogue lines.
Removed Unity Settings Splash. Launching the game will take you straight to Achaem's main menu - no more non-controller supporting popups!
Full Controller Support. As a result, Achaem is now a game which offers full controller support, upgraded from partial!
Added Options Menu. In the start menu you will now find an options menu which enables you to change the resolution, fullscreen/windowed, music volume, and sound effect volume settings.
Implemented New Dialogue System. We have just incorporated Achaem's dialogue system! You will see new alerts ingame, and a taste of the interactions with Achaem when you first land in the world, and in the screenshot above!
You can see a screenshot of the prologue above, and in the screenshot below you can see the dialogue system driving the interactive story-telling:

Update 0.4.2! (Special Combo Attacks, New Terrain Tiles, and more!)

Hello Everyone!
We have another update which has just been pushed to Steam. You should be able to download this right now for all our supported platforms!
The update includes the following:

Beat 'em up style special combo attacks added! Hold or and press [Attack] to unleash your combo bar! The higher your combo bar, the more devastating the attack!
Updated combo UI for new combo attacks.
It is now more obvious when you take damage through UI improvements.
We've increased the world size slightly, you may notice each area tile is slightly larger!
Many new terrain tiles have been added, the world will feel more diverse as you level up.
Fonts have been edited, a 7 doesn't look like a 1 anymore!
Improvement to the world spawning algorithm, low-end machines that may have stuttered when moving from tile to tile should notice an improvement!
Check out the screenshot above where you will see the 2nd tier special combo attack being unleashed! It does four times the damage of a normal attack, double your weapon size, and destroys all terrain it touches! The 3rd tier is even more devastating..
We will be updating the trailer and screenshots soon to more accurately represent the new and improved data of Achaem!

We have another update which has just been pushed to Steam. You should be able to download this right now for all our supported platforms!
The update includes the following:

Added combo system and Counter
Added enemy health bars (they appear on hit)
Added blob shadow Under Player (helps tracking where you are when jumping and in water).
Changed Rager's colour (from red to purple, more visible amongst Tanker's now)
Minor changes to UI
Major improvement to memory management

Check out the screenshot above where you will see the health bars and combo counter (look for "18 HIT"). At the moment the combo system is recording combos (including your highest combo count!) but with no incentive/payoff. In future updates, the combo system will feed directly into the combat itself!
