Red Rover’s 2.2 update adds the ability to pilot the Mars Exploration Rover “Opportunity” around Victoria Crater. Follow along and watch as Oppy retraces its path around the rim of the crater, or take control and explore as Opportunity!
Our MER has been slightly modified for in-game driving - 20-30 mph top speed, compared to an average of 20 meters/day on good days.
Hit the backslash key (‘\’) to see an overlay of Opportunity’s traverse path along the rim of Victoria Crater. Pressing F when in range will transition you from your SherpRover to MER. Happy driving!

To enable telemetry output, open up the main menu and use [ and ] (or gamepad shoulder buttons) to get to the Additional Settings menu. Enable Motion Telemetry output from there - this option is saved with preferences when you exit so you should only have to do it once. Then, surf over to XSimulator to pick up the motion plugin:

Red Rover is now updated to version 2.0!
The update build is live now, and contains the following updates: - nine new maps, bringing the total up to 18 available maps. See the update video for a list of the new maps! - rebuilt terrain shader for better close-range visuals and shadow control. Generally, 110% FANCIER! - B

- control scheme has been updated to be more game-style intuitive. Both driving and flight controls are now on the left control stick (on both the gamepad and the Touch controllers)
- orbit controls are now on the right control stick (both gamepad and Touch controllers). This allows vertical control of the external camera as well, and provides new angles of viewing on the terrain
- Left stick button (L3) now toggles external/internal camera and right stick button (R3) resets the orbit view
- improved braking mechanism to allow for more precise start and stop
- updates to the holodeck tutorial to incorporate these changes
