Hello everyone,
We are proud to announce that we’ve just achieved a huge milestone: Over 12 million copies of our ultimate survival simulator - Green Hell - have been sold across multiple platforms!
We would like to sincerely thank you, our players, for joining this incredible adventure. To everyone and each one of you - huge THANK YOU <3
At the beginning of our journey back in 2016, when only 5 of us were creating early prototypes of a survival simulator, which we now proudly name Green Hell, we never dreamed of becoming one of the most iconic and well-received survival games on Steam.
Since the very debut of the game in Early Access back in 2019, we’ve been doing our very best to create an immersive experience with many tweaks and updates along the way.
And now, nearly 7 years after the EA release, there are over 12 million of you exploring the harsh Amazonian Rainforest, building wonderful stories together, or simply trying to survive in your shelters during the night full of threats.
Thank you once again. We're extremely grateful to have such an amazing community that shares our passion for Green Hell.

Hello everyone,
A short story time from us!
When we established Creepy Jar back in 2016, we wanted to create a company that would make horror games - just take a look at one of the earliest concept arts from us:
Our vision changed rather quickly, and in August 2019, we launched our first game in Early Access: Green Hell - an open-world survival simulator taking place in the uncharted Amazon jungle.
A keen eye will find the horror elements still left in the key visual for Green Hell ;)
Check out this very first announcement trailer for Green Hell - published back in May, 2018:
Since its full release in September 2019, we’ve supported Green Hell with over 21 Content Updates: we’ve added online co-op mode, an additional storyline, added a bunch of new mechanics you’ve requested and new features that we thought would be valuable additions to the ultimate survival experience.
We’ve had so much fun not only while we were creating them, but also when we were looking at your reactions in your reviews, comments, and hours of content you’ve made with the game.
Now, before us stands another great milestone in our studio history - a brand new game, a completely new IP in a sci-fi theme. Although it's not a spiritual successor to Green Hell, it sure contains the Creepy Jar survival essence for those still hungry for extreme experiences.
StarRupture is a first-person open world base-building game with advanced combat and tons of exploration. It’s a fusion of our experience and lessons learned from creating Green Hell, as well as the valuable feedback we gathered throughout the years from you, our Community.
StarRupture will feature both single-player and online co-op from the start in its Early Access debut. So no matter if you prefer the lone wolf experience or help from your buddies (watch out for the friendly fire, though!), you will be set for an unforgettable adventure while trying to survive on this sublime and ever-changing planet, extracting and managing resources, creating your complex industrial system, and fighting off hordes of alien monsters.
We’ll be more than thrilled if you try it out in action when it launches on Steam on January 6th, 2026.
No matter if we’ll see you either in the heart of the Amazonian Rainforest or on Arcadia-7, a mysterious alien planet, we hope that you will have fun while playing our games, and collect memories worth telling to your closest ones.

Hi everyone,
We’re Creepy Jar, a Poland-based publisher and developer of the critically acclaimed survival game Green Hell. Established in 2016, our studio is a collection of seasoned developers and creators combining years of experience from developing other successful games.
As a team, we’re passionate about making our titles the best they can be with a focus on listening to our community, and giving the utmost attention to every little detail. That’s why we’re more than excited to welcome “Zefyr: A Thief's Melody” game to our publishing adventure. And we’d like to say huge thanks to Mathias - the single dev who has spent over 12 years creating the game - for laying trust in our partnership. Thank you!
We’d also like to thank you, current players, of either “Zefyr: A Thief's Melody” or our own game - “Green Hell”, for supporting independent creators like us. To celebrate this event, we’ve created some special bundles for you to enjoy.

StarRupture Playtest Co-op Round:
What You Need to Know
Welcome to StarRupture, an intense first-person open-world survival game where you’ll build sprawling industrial bases, harvest valuable resources, and battle alien monsters—solo or in a group of up to 4 players. The planet is gorgeous, dangerous, and constantly evolving. Exploration, combat, and creativity are your keys to survival.
🧪 How to join the playtest?
The closed playtest runs from today till December 8th. To join, just head over to our Steam page and click “Request Access.” It’s that easy—and yes, it’s 100% free!
🎮 What’s in the Playtest?
The StarRupture Co-op Playtest features an early slice of the game, featuring the game's core mechanics, a guided tutorial (in single-player mode), and a free play option with map restrictions.
Some gameplay mechanics and more advanced progression levels will be locked out for now (and left for you to fully explore when the game launches in Early Access on January 6th, 2026), so don’t worry about the spoilers; the game will have plenty of fresh and new elements once it launches!
The Co-op Playtest features a more polished experience than July’s Single-Player Round Playtest: we’ve tweaked the performance, ironed out a lot of gameplay mechanics, and we’ve squished a lot of bugs (tons of Vermin were harmed during our internal playtesting), and yes: the autosave is working now!
Your feedback on the playtest will be really helpful for us to deliver you the best possible experience on the Early Access launch - you can fill out our short feedback form over here.
There is no time limit on your session—play as much (or as little) as you want! However, this event will be limited only by the good old calendar - it will finish on December 8th.
🤝Meet our (anti)heroes
During the Co-op Playtest, you will be able to try out in action all of our 4 (anti)heroes - each with their own backstory, traits, and character. They will have plenty of chances to speak with GAL and each other to comment on the current situation. Be sure to try out each one of them to see who is your favorite, before the game launches in Early Access ;)

PLAYTEST BUILD KNOWN ISSUES
Menu & Saves
Switching between tabs in the Options menu randomly causes some settings to become greyed out.
The save file is not created in the slot selected by the player; it always saves to the first save slot on the left.
Gameplay
A crash may occur when attempting to place multiple Supported Platforms at once.
A crash may occur when upgrading or deconstructing Rails.
The game may temporarily freeze when placing multiple Supported Platforms for the first time in a session.
Drones may stop delivering items to constructions. This can be resolved by deconstructing and rebuilding the affected rails and machines.
When loading a save made during the Tutorial, the Tutorial widget does not appear until an objective is progressed.
Dropped items stack up to a maximum of 100; any items beyond that limit disappear when dropped.
If the Player obtains items with a full inventory, the excess items fall to the ground and may clip into each other.
Deconstructing the entire base using the Deconstruction option in the Base Core spawns a container tower that may be unreachable by the Player.
After reloading a session, all Quartz may disappear if the game was saved near a Quartz deposit. Quartz will reappear during the next Heat Wave.
Unequipping the Building Tool while walking results in interrupting Player's movement.
Hydration and Calories warning icons do not light up after loading a save.
Machines set to OFF are turned back ON after reloading the save.
The autosave function currently works only at the start and at the end of the tutorial.
Visuals
The Map currently uses placeholder visuals.
Enemies may occasionally appear slightly blurry or may flicker.
Upon loading a save made during a Heat Wave, the critical temperature state and some visual effects may be missing.

Hello everyone!
Welcome to our fresh and exciting Developer Update. This month, we’re inviting you to check out our co-op mode in action, and we’re sharing more info about the effects of the scorching fire wave, and how you can unlock your inner interior designer.
After publishing the newest extensive look at StarRupture co-op gameplay video, we have received a ton of feedback and comments! Thank you for being so active, this helps us understand what you’re most excited about in the game and lets us answer at least some of your questions in this Developer Update.
The event of the Ruptura’s Fire Wave brings a lot of danger for every living being on the Arcadia-7 planet. But you know what they say - “better safe than sorry”. And that’s where Base Core comes into play.
The passage of the wave of fire does not mean that our base will be wiped out - thanks to the brilliant invention of the Selenian Corp - Base Cores. Base Cores - crucial for setting up your base - protect and cool down the buildings within their perimeter.
You will also be able to level up the Base Cores so they will be able to restore the factory operations even faster… but it will come at a price, and we’re not necessarily only speaking here about the resources needed to do it…
In StarRupture, you and your friends will be able to not only scratch the itch of creating your own, custom factories but also cool and chilling-looking habitats.
The Habitats you will build across the planet’s surface will be your safe spots. They’re not only perfect hideouts to stock & refill your supplies and plan your next actions, but also great places to hide from the scorching heat or waves of enemies.
With the building tool, you will be able to create your habitats on the flat lands of the planet, or even more wicked designs on the hill sides.
You will be able to customize your habitats with additional segments and combine them with vertical or horizontal connectors, add additional airlocks for entrances, and viewports for an extra look at the vistas.
You will also be able to freely decide where to place your storage, progression, and crafting machines. Hopefully, your vision will align with that of your teammates, but if it doesn’t, you can always build another habitat in a different location.
We can’t wait to see the creative designs of your habitats you will make in StarRupture.
In StarRupture, you will be able to take your 3 friends on a mission in which you will extract, automate, and ship the resources from the Arcadia-7 planet.
You will mark a new chapter in the history of humanity - and the future of the Claywood Corporation - the company that sent you across the galaxy to explore and document this undiscovered world.
As you progress further, you will uncover different resources that need different machinery to collect them. They have one thing in common, though - Drone Rails. They will not only function as a transportation route to connect them with other machinery or storage buildings, but also as a means to transfer the energy needed to power them.
Last month, we showed you the monoliths - now… we’d like to show you how they’ve changed!
They’re now much harder to find - that’s for sure! And they are very much connected to the base defense… but we will reveal more about it later on.
And that’s all for our StarRupture Developer Update in June - we hope you’ve enjoyed the never-before-seen content and that you’re hungry for more!
Stay tuned for our fresh & exciting updates on socials and right here on Steam as well, as we’re on our road to the Autumn 2025 Early Access launch.

Hello Adventurers,
We saw how you loved the Cappy Plushie we launched last September, and that is why we've teamed up with Makeship again to bring you a piece of brand-new and eagerly awaited Green Hell merch!
You may know Jake as the ultimate survivalist from Green Hell. He’s with you through thick and thin and shares the adventures with you through hot Amazonian days and dreadful nights. But how about you take your survivalist friend out into real life and share adventures in the real world?
We’re proud to introduce to you your own Jake - the ultimate plushie cuddler!
He’s equipped with his trusty backpack with the Stone Axe and the Machete, as well as the detachable Walkie-Talkie, so he’s always ready for another adventure in the Amazonian Rainforest.
He’s a perfect companion for your outdoor trips, movie nights with a bucket of popcorn, or just staying at home during a rainy day covered in a blanket and with a cup of hot beverage at the side.

Hi, everyone!
This is a big and super exciting update from our team! We’re sharing with you for the first time an expanded look at the gameplay mechanics, and its features, and we’re also giving you a sneak peek when you’ll be able to play the game on your own!
See the new video of StarRupture gameplay you will be able to enjoy when the game launches in Early Access on Steam THIS AUTUMN:
In our gameplay trailer, you can look into our base-building mechanics - from starting with a small & humble base to evolving into a huge and automated factory packed with machines and buildings and connected by a complex net of drone rails.
You will also see another sneak peek of our alien and filled-with-secrets planet, constantly changing due to the different moods of the Ruptura Star, always lurking over the horizon.
In StarRupture, you and - optionally - your friends will join a 4-player co-op gameplay, and take the role of prisoners sent to the StarRupture world to pay back their sentence.
By accomplishing missions for corporations you will unlock new objectives and blueprints, and be able to create new and more advanced constructions. As fortune favors the bold - you and your team could venture even further into the unknown.. to explore abandoned bases… and discover both rare loot and the chilling stories of what has happened there before...
Sometimes teamwork makes the dream work while defending both your base and yourselves from the deadly alien monsters you will stumble upon during your adventuring.
The trailer showcases a lot of mechanics and gameplay elements which are still a “work in progress” - so they can - and sometimes will - be tweaked along the way until the Early Access launch.
We hope you like the improvement in the gunplay - our weapons are undergoing serious upgrades to the general feel of the shooting, aiming, and their feedback to players' action - and we can’t wait for you to be able to check it out in action soon.
The trailer ends with a mysterious location, can you guess what’s happening there? We would love to know your thoughts or theories, share them with us in the comments or on our official Discord channel!
Please support our game by adding the game to your wishlist and following it here on Steam and your favorite social media - it means a lot to us! Also, by doing so you’ll be the first to know about our future news about StarRupture.
