Is it REALLY worth your time? Probably not. But, my first ever Steam project will be free from now on, and to go along with it, the game will be receiving an update which ports the game over to Unreal Engine 4 - the result is better physics, smoother gameplay, and a lot less hitching. For those here who are unaware of exactly what this project is, read on below...
Silentium 2D was created as a game originally intended for my younger brother and I to play together, as his hands weren't big enough for console controllers at the time. He liked watching me play Halo, and so I set out on a mission to create a super simple, easy to play game that could all happen on one keyboard.
Was it good? No. But we had fun with it. It is essentially the macaroni art of my game development journey, symbolic of the very first steps towards making video games. There's a been a few purchases of it over the past few months (like, 3 haha) -- and really I shouldn't be charging for this.
For those who have purchased Silentium 2D -- Reach out to me via Discord DM or email at [email protected] with proof of purchase before June 1st, and I will send you a Steam key for Cube Crusaders, so that you'll receive my next game entirely for free when it launches.

I can't see who exactly, but someone recently bought this game recently long after sales fell off (not that the game really sold in the first place). I've been considering taking it off of Steam for quite a while now as this game is not at all up to my current game making standar
I can't see who exactly, but someone recently bought this game recently long after sales fell off (not that the game really sold in the first place). I've been considering taking it off of Steam for quite a while now as this game is not at all up to my current game making standards, and is honestly not a great game.
To whomever purchased this, I really want to make it up to you. I'm going to be working on an update to bring this game up to standards. I likely won't add much, but at the very least you deserve not to have a buggy mess. This goes for all others who have purchased this in the past as well!
I originally made this game when I was 16, and knew almost nothing about game dev. I now work AAA - and I can tell you now, I know a lot more now than I did then.
I am currently working on a spiritual successor in my freetime here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2317180/Cube_Crusaders/
I'm going to make an update for this game though, and I'll post another announcement here when I do:
This one is for you, random player.
Cheers.
