Usually we try to steer away from cross-posting especially after getting feedback that many of you are interested in Descenders only and not Descenders Next. However we feel that because we have some information regarding mountainbikes in Descenders Next we do feel this might be valuable information for some! We definitely don't intend to offend or to cheaply use Descenders for promotion, so if you don't like this at all, feel free to skip this wall of text <3
On to Descenders Next news:
First of all, Descenders Next turned 1 the 21st of July! To celebrate, it is now 40% OFF, our biggest discount ever! You can also redeem a little present in-game with the code: CONGRATS. We're so happy with the progress we've made, and we've got another big one for you today, so let's get to it!
Get ready for the hottest update in Descenders Next history!
We're assuming that after managing to reach the Ashen Vale or the Forgotten Temple, you must be aching for a new challenge. Well, get ready for the Ring of Fire update!
SnowCano and DirtCano
The Ring of Fire update will introduce 2 new biomes. SnowCano and DirtCano are the 5th biomes in their respective sports, and it's getting hotter than ever before!
Watch out for the lava and make sure not to be distracted by all the lightning flashes. There's plenty of challenging jumps lined up for even the most hardcore of Descenders Next players!
If you've played Descenders, it's very similar to how to reach these biomes. Keep an eye out for those Rings of Fire and you'll figure it out.
New Achievements
Obviously, new biomes bring in new achievements. Reach and complete the SnowCano and DirtCano and you'll unlock a few. But there's more... for those of you really looking for a challenge, we're introducing Golden Runs. Complete a full sessions from 1st biome to last (either the 4th or even 5th if you're insane), and there's an achievement with a shiny reward waiting for you!
New Gear and Rewards
There's a bit more gear to collect, of course, but with the Ring of Fire update we're adding something new here as well: rewards for the Park Objectives in Grand Tour! Right now Rabbit Hill, Farmers Hill, River Rapids, Masami Mountain and Manic Mines all have rewards waiting for those that complete all objectives!

New Sport: Skiing
Yes, a new sport! With the addition of the Ring of Fire update we feel that Descenders Next has really reached a point where it is truly starting to come together. It definitely feels like a proper spiritual successor to Descenders now!
With that in mind we're super excited to tell you we've started working towards adding the first of many new sports to the game. Skiing is slowly but surely taking shape and we can't wait to show it to you in the near future!
What About Bikes?
Obviously our dream is to introduce ALL the sports to Descenders Next, and bikes was something we'd want to tackle eventually. However it is very clear that the main thing a lot of people want right now in Descenders Next is bikes. While we're working on skiing first, the next sport after skiing we will add to the game will be Mountainbiking! We've heard you loud and clear! <3
