We have a small update for you all and mostly for the achievement hunters out there.

We've updated the UI and tutorials to make sure newer headsets and controllers show up correctly and we've fixed the issues with certain achievements.

📜1.9.2 Update | Patch Notes
It was possible to miss the final trophy. If you should have it but don’t, launching the game will likely grant it once you reach the main menu. Otherwise, start a new game and complete two nights to unlock it.
For headsets other than Vive and Windows Mixed Reality, controller buttons have been updated to a modern layout. Their tutorials have been adjusted accordingly. Controller tutorials are shown the first time the game is installed, or when the comfort mode is changed in the options upon returning to the main menu.
Additional controllers have been added to the tutorials.
Several crashes have been fixed.
SteamVR is no longer required to play.
Advertisements for PB2 and the Discord have been added to the main menu.

To make sure everything hits the quality bar you deserve, we’ve made the hard decision to shift our release to Summer 2025. It’s a tough call, a bad egg some might even say, but the right one. We appreciate your love and support and can’t wait to show you what we’re cooking up.
🗺️ Alpha Roadmap Reveal
BUT, we have some good news as well! You won’t have to wait until Summer to play. Starting soon, we’re kicking off our Free Alpha Playtest Weekends!
Here’s how it’ll work:

Every 2 weeks, a new level will unlock and be available to play all weekend long.
Levels will rotate, giving everyone a chance to explore different environments and crafting themes.
It's currently only available on Quest, but we're doing our best to have a Steam version too before the end of the Alpha weekends.
This is your chance to help shape the game while having a blast. We’ll be listening closely to your feedback every step of the way so please, feel free to share your thoughts!

Hi everyone!
We are making a small update to Prison Boss VR this week-end. The update should be live this Sunday, but you can access it right now if you go and select the Beta build in the Steam options of the game. Here is what this update fixes:

Use of SteamVR for all headsets: this means you can now play Prison Boss VR on Oculus Quest using Virtual Desktop! But also any other streaming or chat app that interacts with the SteamVR compositor will now work correctly! Furthermore, this means that if you don't like the way the buttons are setup, you will now be able to reconfigure the controller buttons using the SteamVR interface!
You can now play Prison Boss VR while Steam is in offline mode: you will still need to play Prison Boss VR with Steam in online mode at least once per 30 days, but the rest of the time, you can play with Steam in offline mode!
You can't move furniture at night anymore: a long time annoyance finally removed from the game!
Better support for aggressive antivirus: we've had issues with some antivirus that impose very strict security rules, so we changed the location of saved games from the '.../Documents/My Games' folder to the '.../AppData/Roaming/ folder to avoid the extra security imposed on the documents folder. If you previously had issues with Prison Boss VR while your antivirus was running, and so had to mess with antivirus rules or turn it off, now you'll only have to play the game once like before and your save files will be transfered to that new folder. Afterwards you'll be able to play without avoir any security measures!
We now use Unity Analytics to gather information: we used to use a different provider but moved to Unity now, this means that if you want to change if you share or not info with us, here is what you need to do: you go in the in-game options menu and click the analytics button, you'll be directed towards a web page that allows you to choose if you share or not data with us to improve support for the game.

Been a long time. We are proud to announce today our biggest update to Prison Boss VR, the Boss mode update, out now! This update took more time than expected to get out as we ported the game to PlayStation VR at the same time, which will also be out today in Americas and tomorrow in Europe.
We’ve been working hard to offer you this new update, adding a brand new way to play the game!
If you read the forums, when we’re active (yes it happens sometimes… :) ), we’ve been talking about a sandbox mode. After months of designing, implementing and testing this new mode, we decided to give it a more unique name, thus the Boss mode.
What’s in the Boss Mode?!
Boss mode lets you decide your own strategy by giving you skill cards which you can use to unlock the items you desire. The goal is to make the highest score you can before the end of the serving time you go for. You can play for 20, 30 or 40 days in any of the 4 prisons. You can then continue your game if you wish but the score will be calculated at the end of the duration you chose.
New comfort options, with the ability to play without room-scale
This is one big new feature, especially for people who had not enough room to use room scale: You can now play seated with the new “distance interactions”. You can now “distance grab”, “distance drop” and rotate 90 degrees with a dedicated input.
New medals system for Story mode
To make the Story mode more replayable, we added a medals system which lets you replay the prisons to perfect your score. The score is based on the total value of items sold, the number of jobs completed and the number of times you got caught by the guards during the playthrough. You then get a final medal related to your score! Go get those gold medals!
Lots of fixes and small improvements
Along with this, we fixed lots of performance and gameplay issues. We did lots of optimization, drastically reducing loading times and greatly improving overall framerate. You can read the full patch notes below.
New achievements
Some new achievements have been added to offer some challenges related to the new mode and the medal system!
We hope you’ll like the new mode and the new comfort options for the people who had trouble with the standing experience before. It is available now for free! Ready. Set. Craft!

Features:

Brand new Boss mode

Boss mode allows you to play the prison of your choice with the starter item of your choice, and later on unlock objects you want to craft
Boss mode becomes available after completing prison 2
Scores and medals based on gameplay performance for each prison completed

Full UI rework:

Complete rework of the merchant for better user experience
All UI can be used from distance via a hand controlled pointer
More useful data on the progression tab (required XP to unlock new supplies, days passed, times caught and Items Sold value)
You can now get back the items you sold to the merchant if you cancel the trade instead of getting money
New comfort options (available in Options menu):

Roomscale: same as before
Standing: self rotation button
Sitting: distance interactions and self rotation button
New languages supported (Russian, Spanish and soon Traditional Chinese)

14 new achievements spread across the entire game

Can stream a filmed version of yourself playing Prison Boss VR with LIV (for Vive on Steam)

Improvements :

Moderate performance increase
Loading and scene transition significantly faster
All prisons and a few objects have been prettied up a little bit
Bug fixes:

Doesn’t play long intro when playing tutorials through the main menu anymore
Bobby can be sold only once per day
Tutorials screen now allows leaving back to Main Menu and will return thrown objects
Made very hard achievements more realistically obtainable
Improved issues caused by defective prisoner pathing
Fixed issues that could make announcers and merchants to not come
