Systemic racism is a battle we all need to fight. Black lives matter, and inaction is complicity. To that end, we as teammates have been having a lot of hard conversations of our own over last month—about how we can do more to elevate and support Black and other marginalized voices in the game industry, and about how we can use our own privilege to build a better world. Several of us have been involved with youth education and training initiatives in the past, so when we learned about Gameheads, we were excited to find a way to support them. Gameheads' mission is to train future game devs of color, and they partner with working game developers to mentor students through their programs.
This year, every sale from Elsinore over the Steam Summer Sale is going to support Gameheads' upcoming programs. We're also running our biggest discount on Elsinore yet, 50% off, to help make your decision to support even easier.

A major aspect of Elsinore is changing. Warning: mild spoilers ahead!
Many of you have played and supported the game in the last 10 months, and we're enormously grateful to you all. Throughout that time, one piece of feedback has remained consistent: players don't love the way our ending system works. This is us acknowledging that we hear you, and today we're releasing a new update to Elsinore which will allow you to continue playing after choosing an ending without your save file being destroyed.
Why?
When we set out to build Elsinore's final act, we knew that we wanted to capture the feeling that no matter what fate Ophelia chose for Elsinore, it was the final choice she would make. We believed most players would want to put down the game at that point and move on, so the save deletion was just our way of trying to reinforce "you can move on now."
To our surprise (and, honestly, a bit of delight), many of you have reported that you took your ending choices quite seriously, but still wanted to see more. To peek at what might have been. It's clear that our original structure wasn't hitting our thematic goals for a large number of players. At the same time, we didn't want to abandon the notion that "endings are important decisions" entirely-- and we hope we've managed to accomplish that.
We hope that this new ending flow offers you the opportunity to do that, in its own peculiar way.
Other Improvements
We've also made some additional improvements and bugfixes to the game.
Additions: - Added ability to fast-foward through credits. - Clarified directions near the end of one lead (Irma's Ire). - Added new expressions and VO to some scenes.
Fixes: - Prevented a softlock happening in the docks due to a missing scene. - Fixed various visual bugs in the UI with character portraits. - Fixed various scene logic bugs. - Adjusted a few scenes so they couldn't happen at weird/inappropriate times.
A new update has been released that fixes a bug introduced with the controller update: Fixed issue where the "Show Buttons" key (shift) did not work on keyboards. Cheers, The Golden Glitch Team

It must be frustrating to create something with a time-looping premise when everyone talking about it is immediately going to compare it to Bill Murray film. Anyway, Elsinore is Hamlet meets Groundhog Day. It looks very neat.
Instead of a weatherman, we've got Ophelia, stuck in a four day loop that ends with everyone in Elsinore Castle dying. It's a point and click affair, where you'll need to explore the Danish castle and beyond and chat with its inhabitants in an attempt to tweak fate. Hamlet, Othello, Polonius—the whole gang is here.
The residents of Elsinore have their own schedules to keep, as well as needs and desires, but by lying, befriending, gossiping and other interactions, you can knock things out of their routine and change the timeline. Following the Groundhog Day rules, Ophelia remembers everything when time resets, but everyone else is oblivious.
As you'd expect from a Shakespearean tragedy, everyone is keeping secrets and there are lots of grisly deaths awaiting them, but at least you have all the time in the world to rescue them all.
You'll be able to go beyond Elsinore, too, though you won't be able to escape the time loop, and it looks like there's trouble waiting beyond the castle walls. Trouble like pirates.
I'm very much on board with this, especially if it means Ophelia gets a better end than drowning after being stricken with grief over the murder of her dad. She really doesn't have a great time in Hamlet. Do we have to save everyone, though? I mean, sure, let's keep some of them around, but Hamlet? Surely we can let him die. The man's a knob.
Elsinore is out now on Steam and Itch.io for £13.16/$17.

We are reaching peak Groundhogbut. We’ve already had Groundhog ‘but it’s a murder party’ in The Sexy Brutale, and Groundhog ‘but you’re his son, in VR’ with Groundhog Day: Like Father Like Son. We’ve got Groundhog ‘but the sun keeps exploding’ in The Outer Wilds, Groundhog ‘but it’s 12 Minutes of arguing with your wife’ is due in 2020, and Arkane Studios’ Groundhog ‘but assassins’ is in the pipes with Deathloop. To tide you over, here’s Groundhog ‘but you’re Ophelia off of Hamlet’.
Elsinore launched yesterday. You poke around Shakespearean Denmark, spreading rumours and changing the (recurring) fates of the cast. I can’t speak to the payoff, yet, but it’s certainly an intriguing set-up. Spoilers for, er, Hamlet are below.
