Veyr The town of Veyr has opened its doors, with three new faces to meet: Brenna Holloway keeps the Salt Lantern tavern. She sells potions and food, can bind your respawn point to Veyr, and toggles PvP. Earn standing with the Town of Veyr to unlock her stronger potions, a Port Sc
Exhaustion Only Targets Bots The exhaustion penalty now only kicks in when the bot detector suspects a bot. Regular button mashing should not trigger it. The bot detector has also been improved a bit and hopefully will detect less false positives. Fixes Casting your fishing line
Cast Speed Rebalance Cast speed gear was stacking well past the point of being fair. Added a hard cap of 75% total cast speed from gear, so stacking can no longer overshoot into diminishing (or literally backwards) returns. Gloves could roll up to 4 different cast-speed affixes a
I want to take some time to write about the game and its future. I've been making a lot of changes lately that are really shaking things up, and I hope this helps explain where those changes are coming from and where I want Grimveil to go. My Vision My original vision for this ga
Combat: hit chance and block chance rebalanced High-level characters were taking almost no damage from lower-level mobs. Two formulas were compounding: outleveling a mob's level gave a large, uncapped boost to your chance to hit it, but also gave it the same-sized penalty when it
Rearrange your bag You can now drag any item in your bag to any other slot, including empty ones, to organize your inventory exactly how you want it. Previously you could only swap two items directly; dropping an item on an empty slot did nothing. Performance Fixed the frame drop
Guild Tiers Guilds now have 5 tiers, each unlocking more shared storage space at the cost of higher monthly upkeep: Tier 1: 50 storage slots, 25 gold/month upkeep (granted automatically when a guild is founded) Tier 2: 100 slots, 50 gold/month Tier 3: 200 slots, 100 gold/month Ti
Multi-Zone Support Dreadmoor's buildings now run as their own separate zone behind the scenes, the first real use of a new multi-zone system. Instead of one single world simulation handling everything, the game can now split areas into independently-run zones, spreading out the l
New Hunter Spell: Forest's Embrace Hunters unlock Forest's Embrace at level 60, a powerful self-heal drawn from their bond with the wild. It heals for roughly the same amount as Greater Heal, at a slightly longer cooldown. New Hunter Spell: Greater Conjure Arrow Hunters unlock Gr
New boss: Gravewarden A level 200 boss has joined the world: the Gravewarden, a ghostly warlord who hits harder and heals more than anything you've faced before. Expect brutal melee, a shadow-infused spell kit including a life-draining strike and a soul-searing beam, and enough H
New character look picker Character creation now includes a real look picker: cycle gender, skin tone, and hair style with left/right arrows and see a live preview before you commit, on top of your class choice. Characters made before this update will be prompted to pick their lo
Installer Now Shows What It's Doing The installer/launcher used to run silently on Linux and only print vague PowerShell output on Windows, so it wasn't always obvious it was doing anything during a first install or update. On Linux, it now asks where to install on first run (def
Cooking Added a new Cooking profession. Cooking Fires work like the smithing and woodworking stations you already know: gather ingredients, stand near a Cooking Fire, and cook up a dish. Cooking has its own skill that levels up as you cook. Cooked dishes fill your hunger like any
Performance Big mob pulls are much easier on your framerate. Fighting a large pack, especially with a damage-over-time spell like Poison Cloud ticking on 20 or more mobs at once, could drop frames and cause stuttering. Floating damage numbers and blood splatters have been reworke
Anti-cheat: fishing bot warning and kick The server now acts automatically when it detects bot fishing (the same detector that already flagged this for admin review). The first time it's detected you'll get an on-screen warning; if the pattern continues for another 30 seconds, yo
Movement Settings Movement keys (WASD) were already rebindable from the Options menu, but now click-to-move can be turned off entirely if you'd rather move with the keyboard only. Look for "Click to Move" under Options > Interface. Server Performance Pass A round of behind-the
Weapon Identity Swords, axes, and maces now feel distinct from each other. Axes hit hardest but block worst, maces block best but hit softest, and swords remain the balanced middle ground. The difference is subtle at any given item level, not drastic. Axes now have the highest At
Action bar improvements Right-click the action bar and choose "Lock Bar" to prevent spells and items from being dragged around or off it. Handy if you keep bumping your hotkeys mid-fight. Right-click again and choose "Unlock Bar" to rearrange as normal. Right-click a bar's tab (B
A Look Back at Launch, and What's Next for Grimveil It's been a wild week. Grimveil has now been live on Steam long enough for me to take a step back, look at what went right, what went wrong, and what I've learned from the experience. I've gotten a lot of feedback and most of it
## Interface Settings Added an "Arc Bar Settings" sub-panel off the Interface menu with sliders for the HP/MP arc bar's size, opacity, height, spacing, and thickness. "Spacing" moves the HP and MP halves apart or together; "Height" controls how tall each one reads. The Escape men
