🌱 Shelf labels are back. V1.2.0 broke the little labels on the shelf edges: they did not appear at all, and the "Shelf labels" switch in Settings did nothing, because it was switching something that was never being drawn. This was my mistake, made while cutting memory for 8 GB m
This is the big one I promised on the crash thread. V1.1.7 helped smaller machines get further; this patch is built around actually getting an 8 GB laptop with integrated graphics from the desktop to the shop floor and keeping it there, plus the two things I have been putting off
This one started with me sitting down and reading every thread on the discussions board in one go, then going through the game's code looking for the causes rather than the symptoms. Six separate threads were about the same thing, one achievement I thought I had fixed was still n
A few of you sent in reports that turned out to be much more useful than you probably realised, one comment about an achievement that "never triggers" and one very patient write-up about being told you were a single item short led me straight to two bugs that had been sitting the
🌱 No more 1/1 shelves. The two halves of the rule now live together properly. While a product still has unshelved stock, a fresh segment sizes itself to exactly what remains — that is V1.1.2's fix and it stays (27 Pedibree Minis still fill a 15-slot shelf, then a 12). But once a
A quick one, and it is entirely my fault. Yesterday's V1.1.2 fixed the shelves asking for items that don't exist — and in doing so it broke the little segment counter on the end of every shelf label. Thank you to everyone who posted screenshots within hours; the Pet Aisle shot wi
This one is for the shelf labels that ask for more items than the game actually contains, and for everyone chasing the last few items of a no-abilities run. Thank you for the screenshots and the side-by-side tests — the Pedibree Minis comparison told me exactly where to look, and
This one is aimed squarely at the three things people have been telling me since V1.1.0: items you can't reach, the game falling over on lower-end machines, and the upgrade screen not making sense. Thank you again to everyone who took the time to write these up, the item one in p
Thank you for 3,000 sales Big Bad Pharma has now sold 3,000 copies. That's three thousand people who took a chance on not just a new indie game about a very questionable pharmacy, but on me and I still find it hard to believe. I want to be honest about what those 3,000 but I can’
This is the one I've been building towards all week. Every confirmed bug from the V1.0.9 known-issues list is fixed here, plus two more I found while going back through the game with a fine comb. Thank you to everyone who reported these — almost every fix below started as somebod
Controller 🌱 Picking up, dropping, swapping and pausing did nothing on a controller. This is the real answer to "controller still isn't working". Movement, looking, jumping, crouching and the abilities were all wired up — but the five actions behind X, Left Trigger, LB/RB and St
When Big Bad Pharma launched, some of its art was AI-generated: the capsule art, the logo, the achievement icons and the store page images. You told me that mattered to you, and you were right. As of today none of it is left. Every piece has been redrawn by hand (and mouse). What
Big Bad Pharma launched on the 12th, and in the three days since I've shipped four patches. Almost every single fix came directly from your reports, screenshots and Task Manager numbers in the discussions. This is a one-person project and honestly, you've been my QA team, so I wa
Critical fixes: 🌱 Game crashing before the menu (black screen, then back to desktop). Found it: on first boot the engine was pre-compiling thousands of graphics pipelines all at once, using every CPU core at the same time. The more cores your machine has, the more memory it ate,
Critical fixes: Items no longer vanish into the floor. V1.0.6's new outside ground plane sat just under the shop floorboards and caught any item that tunnelled through — above the depth where the 30-second rescue sweep looks. The ground now ignores items entirely (players still w
NEW: the shop floor has been completely rebuilt. All 12,792 items are re-piled into mixed heaps and drifts instead of neat blocks of one drug, then dropped with real physics and baked where they landed, so they lie on their sides and lean on each other instead of standing bolt up
New Catalogue book — press TAB. Every product in the shop, split into three sections and 23 categories, alphabetical within each. Colour-coded tab rail down the edge to jump straight to a category, arrow keys to turn the pages. Fixed The audio sliders actually work now. Master, M
I’m not going to pretend I’m not nervous writing this. Excited too, obviously, but mostly just… a lot. This game started as a “what if” back when I was 5 or 6. My dad’s a self-taught electrical engineer and we’ve always been into technology together, so games and tech were just p
Quick update: Big Bad Pharma is finished and the build is submitted . It's sitting with Steam for approval right now, so the release is out of our hands for the moment. The second the build clears, the shutters go up. We'll post here the moment it's live. Thank you for the patien
