In our ongoing quest to have the best version of each and every unit in the game, we've just pushed a set of changes to six Prismata units. These aren't just nerfs; actually, we focused more on buffs this time to try and give a few of the underrepresented Prismata units more of a chance to shine. A full explanation for the reasons behind these changes (alongside some stories about other things we've tried) can be found on the blog.

Odin - Health reduced from 4 to 3.

Mobile Animus - Click ability cost reduced from 3 to 2.

Wild Drone - Completely redesigned. Now has 2HP, 10 supply, 2 buildtime, costs 2E, and produces 1 gold per turn. Still Frontline.

Sentinel - Cost reduced from 7GR to 6GR. Health reduced from 4 to 3.

Militia - Cost changed from 6B to 3B + sacrifice a Drone.

Blood Phage - Cost decreased from 8RE to 6RE. Buildtime increased from 1 to 2.
A number of other small changes have gone in to support this patch:

Some AI opening book lines have been updated to handle the new Wild Drone, Militia, and Blood Phage.

The Gaussite Shenanigans and Xaetronics puzzles have had an Engineer added to the player's starting units to compensate for reduced Sentinel health.

The economy on the player's side of Don't Crack The Egg has been redesigned so that a solution involving the new Militia is possible.

Lucina's Rage and Stifling Constraints have been left alone. Both are still beatable with the new Blood Phage.
A few other changes:

The Squarewave mission has been radically changed to feature an enemy that builds Steelsplitters. The Expert Challenge version is also updated, and a few very minor changes have been made to the campaign dialogue to reflect what's happening in battle.

All the tutorial infographics have been updated, and new ones have been added for hotkeys and absorbing. The infographics are now visible from within the main menu under the Campaign tab.

The expert version of the Vorexus mission has been streamlined and a tip has been added to clarify how the AI behaves.

Fixed some rendering bugs involving the error text in game.

Fixed a bug where the server uptime stat would add extra increments to the logins count when users were nodeswitched to load-balance the servers. Going forward, the logins stat should now be correct (the games stat was always correct.)

Fixed a bug that would cause the unit art to fail to load for some events.

Fixed a bug where the counting dots would sometimes be mispositioned on some unit piles.
As usual, please let us know if you have any feedback or spot any problems! We plan on making further unit changes in the future, so please feel free to share your thoughts on what further tweaks might create better games!

Earlier this week, we deployed our biggest Prismata update of the year, featuring our new Puzzle Pack, Road to Glory system, multi-language support, and more.
I'm going to tell you all about all that new stuff... but first, a huge announcement:
Prismata is going free-to-play on September 26th!
It's happening!
Prismata will still be considered an Early Access product until we complete the rest of the campaign and launch globally. But going from paid-only Early Access to free Early Access is still a huge deal. We got many thousands of new players every day when we tested a free weekend back in June, so this is when things will really start to heat up!
Also, to be absolutely clear, Prismata will fully retain its competitive integrity through this free-to-play transition. As always, we will offer no paid competitive advantages to players. There are no card packs to buy and no pay-to-win items of any kind on offer (though some of our premium single player content may make you a better player, and our glorious skins and emotes may help you win in style!)
F2P Announcement Celebration stream
To celebrate our F2P announcement, I'll be streaming Prismata over on http://twitch.tv/lunarchstudios all afternoon and evening, as soon as this message goes out! Come hang out, say hi, and ask me anything! I'll be recording a live "dev insights" video as well.
The Puzzle Pack Is Live!
Our 'Challenge Pack 1' is now available for $9.99 and features three unique collections of our most ingenious, clever, and tricky Prismata puzzles. Players can also access this new content by upgrading to Steelsplitter Tier or higher (which can be done in the Prismata shop). There is also a free 3-puzzle preview available to all players. Check them out!
Road to Glory
The road to glory is our new quest system for novice and intermediate players. It features over 30 unique things to do in the game, each with a special reward.
Completing each objective awards you a medal and a valuable prize. Collect enough medals and you'll unlock some incredible rewards! If you complete the entire Road To Glory, you'll be awarded a special avatar frame, certifying your status as a Glorious Swarmwielder.
Both standard and golden versions of the new frame are available. New avatars are available too!
Language support
Multi-language support has finally been added to Prismata. We've only just begun the process of translating the game, but you can mess around with language options now (and even add your own language if you want!)
We've had a number of volunteers in our community offer to help translate Prismata (or parts of it) to their native language, and we're extremely grateful for these offers to help bring the game to more people. If you would like to help, talk to me (Elyot) on the Prismata Discord server or fill out this form.

This is a Beta Pre-Season event (the last one before our Beta World Championship, which is coming later this year).
The tourney is this Sunday and is open to all players. Info below.

Time: Sunday, June 3rd, 2018 from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM EDT
Format: PLANETARY MEGA BRAWL!
Players have 2.5 hours to play Base+8 30s Prismata games in the Event queue.
The goal is to score as many points as possible, where points are granted as follows:

5/3/2 points for a win/draw/loss during a player’s first 5 games of the brawl.
2/0/-1 points for a win/draw/loss during all subsequent games.
Players will receive a time handicap when matched against an opponent with a lower score (one second per point, down to a minimum of 6 seconds.)
Advance sign-up for the tourney is not required. Just show up and play in the Event tab of Prismata (you must be at least level 25).
Prizes will be distributed as follows:

The winner will receive USD $100 sent via Paypal, plus 2000 Shards and a Planetary Mega Brawl Champion badge.
One randomly selected participant will receive 16 Omnipower Cores for participating.
The following prizes will be given away via a raffle, where players receive one raffle ticket per point earned during the brawl: [10 Omnipower Cores,100 Infusions,1600 Shards]
Players can win at most one prize.
If there is a tie, all winning players receive a badge and the shard/cash prizes will be split.
The event will be streamed live at twitch.tv/lunarchstudios, and a live leaderboard will be visible in the Event tab in Prismata.

Episode 2 is only a short ways away (sorry to make you wait, we're just putting a few finishing touches on things!)
Before it goes live, we've deployed an update to Prismata containing several improvements and new features:

Switched the client to download assets from Amazon Cloudfront. This should substantially reduce loading times in areas of the world that are further from North America, especially on the web client.

Added a new 150s (Extended) queue to Ranked Play.

Adjusted when the "low time warning" sound plays. It now happens when 30/20/15/15/15/10/6/3 seconds remain in games with 150/90/60/45/30/20/12/6 second time limits.

Added a search box to the Ranked Play leaderboard.

Adjusted phase 1 of the Squarewave mission to have fewer enemies.

Improved some bot behaviours involving defense with Urban Sentry.

Switched the default menu hotkey from F12 to F9 for new players on the desktop version of Prismata (to avoid a conflict with the Steam screenshot button). Existing players will still have to change their hotkeys in the hotkey menu if they wish to make a change.

Adjusted the matchmaking frequency for casual match bots to prioritize equally-skilled opponents more and variety of opponents less.

Added avatars for the 4 newly-added units.

Added a taskbar blink notification when an automatched game begins.

Added several new warnings and troubleshooting tips for common Steam issues (failing to connect to the Steam client, trying to use the Steam wallet with the overlay disabled, etc.).

Fixed a bug where the chat input would sometimes not clear its cache when sending a message and then switching screens.

Fixed a bug with the Trick Shot achievement where Prismata would fail to award the achievement in a rare situation.

Fixed a extremely rare and obscure bug involving Valkyrion and Overkill. Clicking Valkyrion during Overkill mode will now trigger an error message. Replays that illustrate this bug may no longer function correctly.

Fixed an issue where a game would sometimes not start if the server issued the "start game" request at a precise moment during a screen transition (e.g. when joining a bot game or observing).

Tons of other small and minor tweaks.

Thanks for your patience with Episode 2. We've been doing lots of playtesting and tweaking; the whole team here has been giving it 110% to make sure that it's even better than Episode 1 was. We hope to have it ready in a week or so. Stay tuned for updates on that.

Additionally, we've made the following balance adjustments. More information about the reasoning behind these changes is available on our blog:

Thermite Core - New ability: pay 2 attack to construct 2 Pixies. Lifespan reduced from 8 to 5.

Asteri Cannon - HP increased from 14 to 16.

Blood Pact - Now spawns an enemy Grimbotch with lifespan 3 instead of lifespan 4.

Tantalum Ray - Now costs 3HP per click instead of 2HP per click. Maximum HP increased from 9 to 11.

Redeemer - Cost changed from 8GGB to 10GB.

Lucina Spinos - Click ability now costs [pay R and sacrifice a Drone] instead of [sacrifice a Drone].

Centrifuge - Cost has been reduced from 9 to 5. Resources generated by the unit have been reduced from 12GGBBRR to 3GGBBRR.

Savior - No longer Fragile. HP reduced from 6 to 4.
The Overlord Open

Fixed a bug where holograms didn't appear for people whose GPU drivers didn't support the extended Context3D profile.

Fixed a bug where the Ranked Play badge unlocked at the wrong level.

Fixed Anya's genomic ancestry to add to 100%. ;)

In today's event, both players get a free Apollo that can target their choice of red, blue, or green base set units. Players can choose from an Anti-R Apollo that targets Tarsier and Rhino, an Anti-G Apollo that targets Gauss Cannon and Forcefield, or an Anti-B Apollo that targets Wall and Steelsplitter. Once players make their choices, there's no going back, so choose carefully!

We fixed a serious bug that was causing a crash on game start for some Steam users due to an Adobe AIR warning. See this post for more information. Thanks to everyone who reported it!
We also fixed a soft-lock that was occurring in the tutorial in the armory.

Hello everyone! Today's update is a bunch of small tweaks, bugfixes, and quality-of-life improvements based on feedback from the past few days. We've made the following changes:

Updated the automatcher algorithm parameters for Ranked Play and Casual Match to favour closer matches. This will increase wait times in some cases, but should not be an issue now that the server is more busy.

Adjusted the 'Organize Your Attack' challenge in Combat Training. It's now easier, but has a much more difficult bonus objective.

Made some internal adjustments to how subtextures are handled. This should save about 80MB of ram usage in some cases!

The default number of units in vs computer and vs player games is now 5 for new users. The Casual Match unit slider is now initialized at Fewer Units for new players as well.

The position of buybox tabs (closed, open, half-open) is now remembered between games.

Added a new 'Waste' effect that appears near the resource bar when Behemium and Replicase are wasted at the end of turn. This is experimental, we'd like your feedback on whether we should keep it!

Compressed the background images using DXT and LZW compression to save memory.

Fixed it so that emails would be obfuscated when displayed on screen in some locations of the software.
Additionally, we've implemented the following bugfixes:

Fixed a bug where the experience bar would not animate when players gained experience but didn't level up.

Fixed a bug where the supporter tier of a player (Engineer Tier, Steelsplitter Tier, etc.) might not be inferred correctly by the code.

Fixed a bug where file corruption could result in the game never loading.

Fixed a bug where the campaign conversation queues could crash the game if you used undo at the same time.

Fixed a bug where chat would scroll to the bottom in situations where it wasn't supposed to.

Fixed a number of other tiny bugs and interface annoyances.

Fixed it so that emails would be obfuscated when displayed on screen in some locations of the software.
Additionally, we've implemented the following bugfixes:

Fixed a bug where the experience bar would not animate when players gained experience but didn't level up.

Fixed a bug where the supporter tier of a player (Engineer Tier, Steelsplitter Tier, etc.) might not be inferred correctly by the code.

Fixed a bug where file corruption could result in the game never loading.

Fixed a bug where the campaign conversation queues could crash the game if you used undo at the same time.

Fixed a bug where chat would scroll to the bottom in situations where it wasn't supposed to.

Fixed a number of other tiny bugs and interface annoyances.
