This is the first patch since the 16 September build. The biggest single change is in Circuits: the schematic you draw is now also built as parts on a breadboard. Resistors get their colour bands from the value you typed, the lamp glows by the power the simulator actually dissipa
A visual pass over the whole suite, guided by a full screenshot review of every module. Scenes rebuilt as real apparatus: Twelve modules that used to show boxes and lines on a starfield now show the experiment: the photoelectric bulb on its stem with a moving-coil microammeter, t
Bug fixes and performance improvements.
In 1909, Geiger and Marsden fired alpha particles at a gold foil a few thousand atoms thick. Thomson's model said the positive charge was spread across the whole atom, so everything should pass through with a slight nudge. Most did. About one in eight thousand bounced straight ba
Update: the nucleus-and-atom ring, and equations everywhere The eight newest modules (Cyclotron, Mass spectrometer, Reactor control, Compton scattering, Muon lifetime, Cherenkov radiation, Alpha decay, Cloud chamber) got a second pass. They now run in time instead of showing a st
You can now browse the catalogue as a flat grid instead of the rotating cylinder. Same panels, same previews - just laid out in rows and grouped by topic, so you can see a whole section at once and jump straight to what you want. Switch between the two with the button in the top
A rotating drum with a few hundred balls in it. There is one knob that matters, the spin, and one number that decides everything: √(g/R). For a half-metre drum that is 4.43 rad/s. Below it gravity wins and the bed falls back. Above it the wall holds a grain even at the top of the
A mountain range now stands beyond the field: foothills, rock, snow on the peaks and a fir belt along the slopes. The terrain inside the field has not moved a centimetre - the range starts exactly where the ground the herds walk on ends, so it changes the scenery and nothing else
Update: the wind turbine got a wind tunnel The Betz module used to draw one number and a stream tube. Now there's a lattice Boltzmann solver running underneath it - 128,000 cells by default, up to 2.8 million if you want to make your machine work - with the rotor modelled as an a
The cloth sheet now has real fabric on it, and each material gets its own: a printed gingham for cotton, a satin weave for silk, coarse duck for canvas, and rolled rubber for rubber, which isn't woven at all. The pattern is pinned to the cloth itself, so it travels with the folds
Demolition used to be one brick wall and one button. Now you pick what to wreck: a wall, a round tower, a stepped pyramid, or a fortress with a keep inside it. The fortress starts at 2,476 bricks and the sliders take it past 7,000. Three ways to throw the ball: from the front, st
Turbulence lab: choose how turbulence is modelled The wing, the sphere, the plate and the other bodies now run under five different treatments of the scales the grid cannot resolve, switchable while the flow is running: None (DNS on this grid) — the equations as they are, nothing
