LOCALIZATION FIXES Two days after launch, two players used the in-game feedback button to report text showing up in the wrong language. One was playing in Russian, the other in English as South Africa. They were right. And once I started digging, the problem went further than the
THE GAME IS READY, THE PAGE ISN'T EQUILIBRIUM was due out in Early Access on September 10. It's the 16th and it still isn't on sale. Anyone with the game on their wishlist is looking at a page with a date that's already passed and no explanation. Someone thought it had been pulle
SEPTEMBER 10 This is the tenth devlog and the last one before release. The first nine were written for people following the project while I built it. This one has to work for someone arriving now, who has no idea what they're looking at. So I'll start there, and anyone already he
THE WORD THAT BROKE THE GAME The tester types into the terminal: "Raise VAT by 3% on non-essential goods" The game shows: "Raise VAT by 3% on non-essential gAdriatic Energyods" WHAT WAS HAPPENING The companies in EQUILIBRIUM are fictional, inspired by real ones. There's a functio

You don't pick from a menu. You write what you want to do. In most geopolitical strategy games, governing means clicking buttons in a menu. Your options are the ones the developer planned for. That's it. EQUILIBRIUM works differently. You type your order in natural language, and
Titolo: Devlog #1 — Valve approved, and why every default is permanent Sottotitolo: EQUILIBRIUM has passed Steam review. Let's talk about one design choice: failure with no way back. Riepilogo: EQUILIBRIUM is verified and ready for September 10. First devlog: why a nation in defa
