Bunker Punks version 1.2 is live.
This is a small update that addressed some bugs as well as some minor balance tweaks.
Balance:
- Amount of shotgun pellets in the Sawed Off Shotgun increased.
- Melee range increased slightly
Bugs:
- Fixed a rare audio bug that occurs during loading
- Fixed an issue where Tech wouldn't drop when items still haven't been unlocked in the Wasteland Merchant Caravan. note: This involved a messy workaround to support older save game formats. If this bug still occurs for you please report it in the Steam discussion boards.
Bunker Punks 1.1 is live! This is primarily a polish/balance update with a couple of bug fixes. Changes: - The Special/Ultra Ability Icon now appears below the reticle, this will make it easier to know when you have an active ability. - Minor balance and adjustments to Shotguns.
Bunker Punks 1.1 is live!
This is primarily a polish/balance update with a couple of bug fixes.
Changes:
- The Special/Ultra Ability Icon now appears below the reticle, this will make it easier to know when you have an active ability.
- Minor balance and adjustments to Shotguns. All Shotguns do slightly less damage per shot, but fire more shots, which reduces the chances of missed shots. Effective range was also reduced slightly, making them more devastating up close, but less effective at range.
Bug Fixes:
- Some users reported slower framerates at the start of the level, we've made some changes that should address the issue.
- Fixed a bug where if you switched a weapon while charging your Plasma Cannon, your next weapon would shake as if it were charging. Also fixed minor audio issues in similar scenarios.
Big thanks to everyone for providing feedback, suggestions and bug reports.

Bunker Punks has been updated to Ver. 1.01.
This update is primarily a bug fix update with a few minor balance changes.
Changes:
- Brute and Charger has slightly more health to make them more challenging without becoming bullet sponges.
Bug Fixes:
- Addressed an issue where Tech wasn't dropping for people with older save game data.
- Fixed an error where the baseball bat was spawning hit effects on objects out of its range.
- The GUI frames for armor now disappear when the GUI is hidden at the end of a level or on death.
Thanks to everyone for reporting the bugs. We were hoping that Early Access caught them all, but a few smaller ones made it out.

Right, bear with me while I figure out how to write about a retro FPS without stepping on Dominic Tarason’s (constantly strafing) toes. Bunker Punks is a roguelikelike shooter about stopping THE MAN from doing something BAD, I think involving death robots. I’m not sure, because I skipped the opening text scrawl so I could jump straight into the running and gunning that Rob Zacny enjoyed when he punked some bunkers back in 2016. It came out of early access yesterday, so I figured now that Ninja Robot Dinosaur Entertainment have spent another two years bunkering down on development I’d be in for a treat.

Version 1.0 is here!
The 1.0 update includes the adding the soundtrack by A Shell In The Pit as DLC, the last playable character, Null Point, balance changes and a couple of bug fixes.
For those who haven’t played the game since the Early Access launch, this is a great time to check out the game again. More weapons, characters, room variety and enemies have been added, characters have Special, Passive and Ultra Abilities and there have been a ton of changes to the world generator and decoration algorithms.
Additions:
- The Bunker Punks soundtrack, by A Shell In The Pit is now available as DLC.
- Bunker Punks and the soundtrack are available in a Deluxe Edition Bundle.
- Null Point has been added - he’s a heavy weapons expert who starts with a Rocket Launcher and has abilities that buff the AoE of weapons.
Changes:
- Minor balance adjustment pass across most weapons.
- Minor balance adjustment pass across most enemies.
- GUI Clean up, adding frames to armor slots.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a couple of minor issues on ultra wide resolution monitors.
Finally, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone in the Bunker Punks Early Access community. Your feedback, bug hunting and support over the past two years has been instrumental in making Bunker Punks the game it is today. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Bunker Punks 0.9.7 is Live!!
This update focuses on polish and balance, including a new collision system for the Katana which makes it less of a 'challenge' weapon and more usable all-around.
Changes:
- Shotguns fire more shots, but each shot does less damage. This makes mid-range shots hit most consistently.
- The Katana now uses a different collision system which checks collision along a vertical range so that it's much more usable and less of a 'challenge' weapon. Damage has been reduced slightly as well.
- UI adjustments.
- 'Corpse' sprites for Red Widow and Sentry EX are lower so they don't partially hide the pickup items that spawn when the unit dies.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed two bugs which were preventing some enemy units from dropping pickups when they died.

Three years after we first saw it and two years after its Early Access launch, mashup FPS Bunker Punks will fully release on May 28, developer Ninja Robot Dinosaur announced today. In case you missed it: Bunker Punks is an old-school FPS that channels DOOM and Wolfenstein's run-and-gun fun, pairs it with a base management sim where you upgrade your HQ to upgrade your character, and seasons it with permadeath and procedurally generated levels.
“I wanted to make a game that captured the feeling of classic FPS games," says solo developer Shane Neville. "Where bullets are flying everywhere and you are always running through the level as fast as you can. A game where charging in, circle strafing and running backwards while unloading bullets are all part of the experience.”
As you may have gathered from the smooth voice-over in the trailer above, Bunker Punks is about a group of revolutionaries fighting the good fight in a dystopian future. You assemble a squad of freedom fighters with unique abilities and build a base that complements their fighting style. Different rooms come with different perks, so you can use the resources you collect out in the field to fine-tune your play style back home. It sounds like an intuitive little system, and the shooting looks razor sharp.
Bunker Punks will launch on Steam and Humble for $15. It's currently available for $10 on Humble if you buy into Early Access by May 23.
We’re very happy to announce that Bunker Punks ver. 1.0 will be coming out on May 28th. The launch update will add the last playable character: Null Point. He’s an explosives weapon expert who starts the game with a Rocket Launcher and can increase the AoE on weapons with his Spe
We’re very happy to announce that Bunker Punks ver. 1.0 will be coming out on May 28th.
The launch update will add the last playable character: Null Point. He’s an explosives weapon expert who starts the game with a Rocket Launcher and can increase the AoE on weapons with his Special Abilities.
We would like to thank everyone in the Steam Community for all of their support, feedback and patience over the last two years. Every single bug report, suggestion and review of the game has been greatly appreciated. This is why we decided to do Early Access and the game is all the better for it.
If you’d like to help out with the launch, here are some great ways to help us out (or help out any developer):
1) Post a Steam Review - A "Thumbs Up" is the best thing you can do to help out any game on Steam. While you're at it, go through your library, find your favourite games and go give them a thumbs up too.
2) Tell your friends - Word of mouth is how smaller games reach new audiences
3) Follow @bunkerpunks on Twitter, Tumblr or Facebook and help spread the word
4) Keep the feedback coming. We’ll be posting regular updates after launch to address bugs and balance concerns.
Thanks again everyone!

Release Notes for Bunker Punks ver. 0.9.6
As we get closer to the full release for Bunker Punks (release date will be announced early next week), this update focuses on balance, playability and bug fixes.
Changes:
- Added some new room design variants, increased the chances of them being used and made the early levels have more variety. This will add a lot more variation to every play through and make the early levels more engaging to new and experienced players alike.
- Removed some room weaker design variants from the pool.
- Improved the feel of movement while using a game controller.
- Reduced the spread on Shotguns so that they are more useful for shooting flying enemies.
- Rebalanced the Rocket Launcher so that it has less ammo, but does more damage in a smaller AoE.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an exploit where the player could switch weapons while a weapon buff ability/ultra was active.
Bunker Punks 0.9.5 is live. This is a large update that has a mix of bug fixes, balance adjustments and playability improvements. Players will notice more gameplay variety, especially in the mid-game, more utility with pistols and a more balanced and engaging experience overall.

This is a large update that has a mix of bug fixes, balance adjustments and playability improvements. Players will notice more gameplay variety, especially in the mid-game, more utility with pistols and a more balanced and engaging experience overall.
Extra thanks to the Bunker Punks Steam community for the bug reports. Especially the hard to track inventory issues and typos found amongst all of the dialog and loading screen text in the game.
Changes:
- Adjustments made to controller inputs and aim-assist to make the game more playable with controller.
- Autopistol does more damage per shot
- All pistols have a broader effective range, making them a mid-range weapon
- Grenade Launcher rebalanced to be more consistent
- Brutes have reduced HP and appear more frequently
- Chargers have reduced HP and appear more frequently
- Brute and Charger changes were made to improve variety in the early mid-game and reduce the changes of running out of ammo
- Put a short timer at the end of a level so that players don’t accidentally skip the post-game popup
- Adjust spread on shotguns to make them slightly more effective at mid-range
- Increase HP on Sentry and Sentry EX
- Increased min-damage on Plasma Rifle so that the uncharged shots deal more damage
- Explosion Particles adjusted to look better
- There is an explosion when the Mother dies, spawning her last drones
- Enemy types are more defined by level type, meaning that each level will have a particular play style, adding to the variety in gameplay
- Store items in the Wasteland Merchant Caravan have lighter backgrounds so that they are easier to see
- Stun laster longer on Stun Baton to encourage more players to use it
Bug Fixes:
- Numerous Door Placement bugs
- Grenade Launcher shot rolling sound no longer randomly plays forever
- Numerous grammar and spelling errors
- Fixed problem with Punk info pop-up in the Bunker being cut off on the side of the screen on some resolutions
- Clearing high speed run achievements will now reward all of the lower achievements
- A Pistol is no longer added to the bunker inventory at the end of every raid.
- Idle Speech events no longer queue up when the game is paused (resulting in a LOT of talking when the game was unpaused - probably my favourite bug on the game so far)
- Royce Hall’s 3x Special Ability no longer reduces damage

Bug Fixes:

- When playing on Expert or Brutal difficulty, enemies that have a dash movement now dash faster instead of slower.
- The old damage overlay would no longer reactivates when picking up health.
- Backpack slots now keep track of the ammunition for each weapon stored in the backpack. This fixes a potential infinite ammo exploit.
