We've just rolled out Neon Drive v1.7, and while it's not a content update, it brings a couple of improvements and a little surprise for fans of retrofuturistic vibes.
Updated to Unity 6
We’ve upgraded the game engine to the latest version of Unity to ensure better compatibility with modern systems — especially for players on 64-bit macOS. This should improve stability and future-proof Neon Drive for years to come.

If you leave Neon Drive idle for a bit, you might notice something new...
We’ve added an in-game trailer for our upcoming spiritual successor: Neon Hyperdrive.
You’ll also find a brand-new arcade machine in the main menu — right after all the levels — marked “Under Construction.”

If by any chance the new update doesn't work well on your system and the previous build did, please let us know. In the meantime, you can safely opt out and choose the previous build v1.60 in the game's properties -> Betas.

Game Update - Music Sync, Practice Mode, Extra Life
After considering all of your valuable feedback, we've updated the game to make it even more enjoyable. The difficulty of the normal mode has been reduced a bit, making the game more approachable to the non-hard-core gaming audience, but we still kept it extra-challenging at high
After considering all of your valuable feedback, we've updated the game to make it even more enjoyable. The difficulty of the normal mode has been reduced a bit, making the game more approachable to the non-hard-core gaming audience, but we still kept it extra-challenging at higher difficulties.

Normal mode is now slightly easier, and you get one extra life.
We've added practice mode with unlimited lives. You'll love the looks of it (hint: it's another tribute to the '80s). Please note that you'll have to complete the previous level at normal difficulty to unlock the practice mode for the current level.
Music track offset has been adjusted to be in sync with the visuals; this should eliminate problems on some PC setups.
We've added an option to manually adjust music offset, in case you find the above fixes don't quite cut it on your setup.
We've improved many translations, so you can enjoy the game in your language even more. A big thank you to all of our fans that helped with that! You're awesome!
As mentioned, Hard and Insane modes remain unchanged.
