45 days in and the forge is still burning hot! We have been deep in the trenches looking through your latest suggestions. Today's update brings a massive wave of quality-of-life adjustments, pacing fixes and community-requested tweaks.
We know our work is far from finished as there are still plenty of items from your wishlists that we haven't rolled out just yet. Please know that we are on it! We plan to work on every single piece of feedback you share with us whether it's a pesky bug fix, a performance suggestion, an economy balance tweak or a QoL change that makes running your shop feel smoother. Your input drives every single patch we push out and we are completely committed to shaping Arcane Merchant right alongside you.
Here is the full breakdown of everything included in today's patch:
🛠️ Gameplay & QoL Improvements:
Pressing 'ESC' while taking a quest from the Griffin no longer accidentally declines the quest.
Required prerequisite nodes in the Research Tree are now clearly highlighted in red.
Rearranged several Research Tree nodes for significantly better visual readability.
Tools from the radial menu have now been added to the hotbar (slots 7, 8, 9, 0) for quick access. (The radial menu remains fully functional if you prefer it!)
Crates now feature labels on both sides, and their carrying animation and position have been adjusted so the label is always visible to you.
You can now hold the Left Mouse Button to quickly collect multiple items placed on the counter at the cash register.
You can now simply right-click the Mimic to send it outside.
Added a distinct icon for the Guide Book.
The maximum amount of change you can give is now capped at the exact change owed plus 2x the highest currency denomination.
⚖️ Balance Changes:
Reduced the dirt accumulation rate inside the shop by 20%.
Increased the starting night lighting inside the shop by 50% for better visibility.
Linked the Vaultkeeper research node directly to the Merchants Foundation research node.
Removed the 1,000 gold requirement to unlock the Vaultkeeper research, making early progression smoother.
🐛 Bug Fixes:
Fixed an issue where the "Earn Gold" quest failed to show a completion checkmark after saving and loading the game.
Fixed a bug that caused Mystery Chests to disappear upon saving and reloading.
Fixed an issue where keyboard UI prompts would incorrectly display while playing with a controller.
Improved overall game translations across multiple languages.
