Я же говорю об играх времен седьмого поколения консолей, когда RPG чаще рассказывали о приключениях одинокого героя (ну или героя в сопровождении пары второстепенных персонажей), давали вдоволь наглядеться на окружающий мир благодаря камере от первого или третьего лица и полагались на экшен-составляющую при взаимодействии с окружающим миром, нежели на бросок воображаемых кубиков при расчете вероятностей. Ремастер первой части Risen – это не та игра, которую кто-то просил, но та, которая лично мне, оказывается, была очень нужна.

The game now fully support DirectInput compatible gamepads (either use the launch option to force it or set Controller Mode in the games option menu). We also
updated the languages it supports (Polish and Russian are fully integrated) and added Steam Achievements and Rich Presence via Steam and Discord.
Along the way we did a few gameplay & technical (related to audio and physics) bugfixes, made it use 64bit and also added options like changing the FOV.
Savegames are also compatible with the old SKU and we also added Steam Cloud.

Deep Silver has a game forthcoming that features islands, water, and people in pirate costumes, and it ain't Dead Island. No, it is Risen 2: Dark Waters, the sequel to a game that was a fantasy RPG.
What Deep Silver is doing is listening to its customers. One of the most popular side quests in Risen had players helping the daughter of a pirate named Steelbeard, whose name you hbear in that trailer. So in developing the sequel, the Risen 2 decided to flesh out this continuity a little more, which is why it is now a pirate RPG set in the southern seas.
According to a news release, players will be able to "launch parrots at people/creatures to annoy the fuck out of them." There will also be companion NPCs. Everything else, Deep Silver ain't saying, so enjoy that trailer, it's made from actual gameplay.

The original Risen found a niche, and the people who played it seemed to really, really like it. But in a landscape already filled with fantasy medieval RPGs, it was easy to miss. Its developers are trying to change that, by making its sequel not a fastasy, medieval RPG. This time, it's about pirates.
That means no shields, no bows and arrows, and no fireballs. It does, however, let you become a pirate captain, with your own ship (that, sadly, you can't steer), crew and pistols. And yes, with your own parrot that you can "launch to annoy people," says Daniel Oberlerchner, one of the game's developers.
Daniel is also fairly brutal when talking about the first game. He showed a bunch of footage of the game, deliberately setup to convince me that it sucked: it was ugly, it was buggy, it had terrible faces and awful lighting and wasn't designed with widescreen resolutions.
At least in these clips, the sequel certainly looks better. It's so much brighter, for a start. The sun is shining. As I'm typing, the pirate main character just kicked a crab on to his back and he's now whacking it with his sword while the crab tries to flip back over.
Man, pirates are dicks.
The game starts in the town of Caldera, the last standing human city in a world destroyed by monsters. Unable to farm anything around them, the city is entirely dependent on trade via visiting ships. That's where you come in: first, by protecting those ships from attacking monsters, but then by joining and climbing the ranks of pirates.
It is weird how similar a pirate-theme is to the traditional RPG setting, but instantly it makes me more likely to play it.
