Snow! I wonder about snow. Hardly any falls where I live so whenever it does, everyone gets very excited for it. The ugly grey concrete we see every day is hidden under a fluffy white blanket, as if to say, "Don't worry about all that stuff, unless of course you walk into it, but go out and do something else instead. Be with friends! Be with family! The trains don't bloody work anyway." So the country grinds to a halt and we all rush outside to slide down hills on sledges, baking trays, dustbin lids, plastic bags - anything we can find. There's no thought for safety as people plummet down, careering into people walking up - I once saw someone perform a whole impromptu somersault - and we all return home at the end of the day with bruises and a spot of hypothermia. It's a great day out.
So when I see snow in a video game, the same butterflies of excitement flutter around inside me. But I wonder, is it the same for those of you who live where it snows a lot? You must see so much you are sick of the sight of it. Do you like snow in games or does it give you nightmares? Do let me know!

As Eurogamer turns 20, we thought, you know what? It's not all about us. It's also about the developers, the people behind the virtual magic that inspired the creation of Eurogamer two decades ago. Without the developers, we wouldn't be here. And so, we thought we'd ask a few of them (20, in fact!) to pick the games that defined the last 20 years, and see what would come of it.
We approached a broad range of people, from top executives and legendary talent to tiny indies. We asked them to pick a game that defined the last 20 years, but left it up to them to interpret the question. It could be a game that defined the industry, that meant a lot to them professionally or personally, or is just a favourite.
We're delighted with the responses (thank you to everyone who contributed!). There's some fantastic insight here, super cool anecdotes and the odd surprising choice. We hope you enjoy it!

Journey, the delightful and serene game from That Game Company has finally made its way over to PC, available exclusively on the Epic Games Store - and in theory at least, the transition to this platform should allow for the definitive experience; a game freed from its technical constraints on console and allowed to scale on the hardware of today - and tomorrow. I'd say that the potential is there for this game to deliver that experience, but we're a patch or two away from perfection.
It's over seven years now since ThatGameCompany's original release wowed PlayStation 3 gamers, and the objective is simple enough: there's a mountain in the distance, and your job is to traverse the desert to get there, meeting up with and collaborating with other players en route - though any kind of communication (be it speech or text) is not possible. The concept is straightforward, but the experience and the art style is simply magical.
Three years after Journey's original launch, developer Tricky Pixels handled the PlayStation 4 conversion, which doubled frame-rate to 60fps and boosted resolution from 720p to 1080p. It's a great game, but aspects of the original presentation changed in the transition between PlayStation consoles: sand rendering was altered and motion blur was removed. Anti-aliasing fell a little short, and there were some slight dips to performance. A PS4 Pro patch was never released, but boost mode should be able to resolve the minor frame-rate issues, at least.

Journey, developer ThatGameCompany's seminal desert meanderer, is, after seven years of PlayStation exclusivity, out next week on PC, arriving on 6th June.
For those unfamiliar (boy, do you have a treat in store), Journey charts the unwavering march of a nameless, red-scarfed protagonist on pilgrimage across the desert toward a distant mountain, forever visible on the horizon. What follows is something akin to a puzzle platformer, but that's underselling it considerably.
Unfortunately, as scant as that description is, it's hard to reveal too much more without robbing the experience of some of its power; suffice to say, it's a masterful example of atmospherics and mechanics operating in full service of story - and the combined force of Journey's assured design and stunning audio-visual presentation is never less than breathtaking.
It felt like I'd never see the day but Journey is finally making the trip over to PC - and on the shiny new Epic Games Store to boot. If you paid close attention to The Game Awards last night, you may well have spotted this gem of a game amongst the host of other titles which Epi
